Torre do Rio ★★★

📍 San Andrés de César, 1, A Baxe, Caldas

"After a long day of Camino walking, staying at this hotel was truly the perfect choice. The location is amazing — surrounded by nature, with the peaceful sound of the river flowing right beside it. It felt so calming and restorative after hours of walking. The atmosphere is quiet, beautiful, and deeply relaxing. Waking up to the sound of water and greenery around you makes the whole experience very special and memorable. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable and gave us the rest we really needed after the Camino journey. The food was exceptionally good. We ordered the grilled octopus and the steak, and both were absolutely delicious — fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety and very good quality. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. This place is more than just a hotel — it feels like a peaceful retreat in nature. It is truly one of the best experiences we had during our trip. Highly recommended and a must-stay if you are visiting Cádiz or walking the Camino and need a beautiful, relaxing place to recharge."

"It's a beautiful, peaceful place with a spectacular garden and pool. The rooms are just like the photos, with great mattresses for relaxing. You can book breakfast at an available time, as the peace and relaxation you find here is what characterizes this place. By booking breakfast, I avoided any stress. I always checked availability with the staff beforehand, who were professional and extremely welcoming, helping me with everything I needed. "We took this hotel for 1 night, while walking the Camino… so unfortunately we could not enjoy this wonderfull place for more then 1 night… The rooms are very beautifull and the swimmingpool and garden are sublime… This is a hotel were you can relax and enjoy the silence and it is small… I believe maximum 15 rooms… Only disadvantage is the distance to the city… and if you’re there without a car, a taxi is needed (+/- 6€)"

"We arrived at 1:00 p.m., and despite arriving before the scheduled check-in time, we were able to occupy the apartment immediately. An unforgettable experience. Luxury facilities, superb cleanliness, and exquisite service. The outdoor pool was heated at the end of September, which was greatly appreciated! Excellent breakfasts, super friendly and attentive staff... everything was perfect!"

Pensión Caldas ★
"The room is small and a little dark. The toilet glasses were broken and there was no hot water. I Then the owner went to check it. When I came back, they told me that everything was okay but still a crash in the toilet glasses. The hot water was repaired. The woman of the bar was kind, and her hands were full of the horror case and the hair. Pension."

Villa Galicia ★★
"Breakfast is a bad joke! We know that it is scarce for what you pay, which is a coffee capsule, a toast and juice. But to be told that they have run out of decaf capsules and oranges and not to be given another option is regrettable. I cannot understand how they can leave a guest without breakfast. And on top of that, you are the one who has to do it yourself. They put the cups on the table and you serve yourself. They do not give you hand towels because they say that it is a guesthouse, not a five-star hotel. There is no air conditioning, they give you a fan and if you are lucky because they have them counted. There is also no hair dryer for all the rooms. Be careful with the rooms that face the street, apart from the fact that they are very hot, you cannot sleep because there is a sewer that makes a lot of noise every time cars pass by. You have to pay in cash as soon as you arrive and they do not give you proof of payment. The pool is the only thing worth it. In short, a good photo montage that does not correspond at all with reality. Of course I won't be back."

"Absolutely beautifully restored country home that welcomes you with charming and extraordinarily clean and comfortable rooms, lovely gardens and amazing staff. You must stay for dinner as Pablo (chef) and Ruben (waiter) offer a dining experience not to be missed. Vanessa offered me tea in the afternoon by the pool and did my laundry! "

Balneario Acuña ★★
"We stayed here while walking the Portuguese Camino. It was a hot day (30C) and our rooms did not have air conditioning not even a fan. We kept our window open but then flies flew in. Needless to say, we did not sleep well. And then to add insult to injury, the posted 0800 breakfast did not open their door until 0820. With that being our longest day in the heat, we were very dissatisfied."

Pensión As Burgas ★★
"As my travel agent had booked this well in advance I had no direct way of being contacted beforehand. On arrival I rang twice before the phone was answered, then they could not speak English and I couldn’t understand Spanish . My suitcase was left on the fourth floor but my room was on the second floor. One bathroom for 4 bedrooms. My paperwork said breakfast was included but I didn’t see where it was as I didn’t even see a kitchen or lounge room. Communication is very slack. My bed was ok and room was clean."
