Kaktus Hotel Kaktus Playa - Adults Recommended
"A short stay for of 2 days was booked with Triip.com for one adult and 2 children under 10, to join us who were booked in a day earlier for three days. Our three day booking was direct with the hotel, half board. The hotel is marked 'adults recommended' and they sure discourage children, by seeking to charge per occupancy rather than simply on a cost per room. The Trip site quite fairly offered the room at the rate for two adults, with children under 12 free, so this is what was paid. Half board was added but at the rate for two adults, which would be greater than the actual hotel rate for one adult and two children, but I was happy to have reserved restaurant secured. Things got messy at check in, the hotel insisting that the room was occupied by three 'persons' as they put it and should therefore be 50% extra, though the room was the same type as the twin we had for two adults. The Hotel also insisted that only breakfast was provided, and tried to argue that the B2B rate from the third party (Trip) was insufficient. I politely pointed out that the discounts provided to third party agents was no concern of the customer, and referred to my booking voucher which clearly stated I had booked a twin room, into which was going 1 adult, two very small children, and that breakfast and dinner was paid for, with the rate for 1 adult being greater than twice the local charge for a child. They were impossible to deal with, and I left the reception angry and upset. I contacted the Trip representative and by that evening it was sorted. Full marks to Trip, zero to the hotel. As for our stay, the hotel is excellent, but with room to improve. Dinner in the Buffet only commences at 8.00, resulting in quite the bunfight if the restaurant is busy. It was on that Thursday, a national holiday, and it was impossible to order wine and beverages after we seated, with a single service person taking orders. We ate our food dry, and finally placed an order for wine and water while eating dessert, some 40 minutes after seating. The same bottleneck occurred the next morning at breakfast, with the four snail paced Nespresso machines totally incapable of dealing with the coffee demands. Worse, all 4 machines overheated and went into 'service mode'. Worse again, these obviously unsuitable barista machines were the only source of hot water for Tea or infusions, but with no seperate hot water dispenser faucet. You had to stand for almost 2 minutes while the machine slowly dispensed through the coffee outlet, a single mug of hot water, to the frustration of the queue behind. This needs sorting, it took ages to get a breakfast beverage every morning, and on the second day I had to return 4 floors to my room and fill my cup from the in room Nespresso maker. I'd advise to bring a travel kettle with you. Otherwise, a fine hotel, but the restaurant problems and discriminatory pricing for children are an issue, so not a hotel for children."
Kaktus Hotel Volga - Adults Recommended
"The hotel's location is excellent, the staff is polite and helpful, but everything else leaves much to be desired. The room was so dirty and dusty that they replaced it, but I still had to clean the closet before putting away my clothes. The furniture was old and smelled unpleasant (we had to keep the balcony open all the time, even at night). The shower door didn't close properly, causing a flood in the bathroom after each use. After informing the staff, they simply gave us an extra towel for our feet. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable (we both woke up with headaches and felt sore in the morning). They replaced the pillows with towels (sure, it wasn't the most comfortable to sleep, but at least we didn't have a headache). The food was a complete disappointment. The food was good and high-quality, but everything was poorly prepared: overcooked, dry, and often cold. We didn't go hungry, but we didn't enjoy the food at all. Conclusion: convenient location and polite staff, but nothing more. A complete mismatch between price and quality."
Hotel Internacional
"Great location, close to restaurants, and within walking distance of the lighthouse, which is a lovely spot, and the beach. The hotel is very quiet and has everything you need. The service is excellent, very friendly. Everything was great."
Hotel Mar I Sol
"When I got there the hallways were just wide enough to fit me in, the beds were really uncomfy. There was questionable substances on the walls and bed luckily only stayed one night bathroom was disgusting would dread to go back there again fake images on google and ants on floor"
Htop Olympic #HtopEnjoy
"All good. I didn't get a good rest because there was a lot of noise and the pillows were not comfortable at all. Dinner few options but good and breakfast a little more complete but few fruits. The hotel is super large and very complete, it has good facilities."

Hotel Mar Blau
"Stayed for 5 days over the Ironman weekend, as my son was competing. Hotel was good, good location just up off the beach front ( about 10-15 min walk). Rooms were spacious and comfortable but a little bit tired, the premier rooms were lovely but didn’t like the bathroom. Food was good but not a lot of choice for children. Pool and pool area were good clean and lots of beds. Would stay again Thank you x"
Hotel President
"Great location, close to clubs, bars, town centre and beach all within 5 mins walk. There are 3 night clubs just by the hotel and even I had a room with balcony facing the road, it wasn’t noisy. The rooms are basic but clean and had everything you need. The towels could be replaced as they were very thin and rough. Water from the shower still manage to creep out. The train station was 10 mins walk away and you can get the train straight to Barcelona city in an hour and cost £6. Long stretch of beach but not very clean, also if you wanted to rent a beach lounger it cost €8. The quality of the food at the restaurant I ate at was not great, much better food in Barcelona city and other parts in Spain I’ve been too. Lots of university kids there, lots of Germans too. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice of buffet. Getting the taxi around the area was expensive."
GHT Balmes, Hotel-Aparthotel&Splash
"Myself my husband and two of our teenagers holidayed here end of june, self catering for seven days. We had a lovely time here. Hotel was better than i expected to be honest. Most importantly it was really clean and tidy also the staff were brilliant couldn't do more for you, our entertainer was the best whet above and beyond, fun for all ages. Food was really nice (although pastries were always on the over done side) everything else was cooked perfectly and very reasonably priced, same with the drinks great price and huge selection. Pool was super, lots of sun beds, we didn't have little kids with us but had to get in the kids pool for photos as its just amazing. Jacuzzi broke for a day but they quickly got it fixed. Room was standered, was on the small side especially including the balconies but not like you spend much time in them and they were again extremely clean so we were happy. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need including all cleaning equipment, and bathroom had a hair dryer. The area was lovely but very quiet which meant entertainment finished rather early. Plenty of places to go and eat, thanks to Google maps. Beach was about ten minute walk but very nice and again sunbeds quite reasonably priced and plenty of them. Day tripped to marineland would definitely recommend, rides and pools are amazing and the sea lions and dolphins were beyond a moving experience. we also did the catamaran trip from lorret de ma, including BBQ food and unlimited drinks on my birthday it was an amazing experience a must do. Overall we had great holiday and would definitely go back, although the teenagers would probably prefer a slightly more lively area. Definitely perfect for a cheap holiday more aimed at couples and families with younger children."
Aparthotel Miami Park
"First time in Calella, great. Apparently, all its amenities are top-notch. Very pleasant staff."
htop Jadhe
"The location is great for Calella town. The hotel public areas are much nicer than the rooms which are shabby, with small balconies and mouldy bathrooms. Beds are comfy though and great housekeeping service. Staff are good and the food is excellent. The major disappointment for us was the rooftop area with jacuzzi was a key reason for us choosing this hotel as we knew the pool would be too cold in April and we were travelling with our two adult daughters. A pic of the jacuzzi was used on our booking page and every website I looked at mentioned it. Turns out it's closed until Summer!"
Neptuno Hotel & Spa 4 Sup
"Just returned from a wonderful week at The Neptuno. We checked in late after the restaurant was closed but had previously emailed to let them know. We expected maybe a sandwich but was treated to a 5 course cold buffet selection served by the fabulous Sunny! Our room was compact but contained everything we needed. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean. Breakfasts and evening meals were delicious with fabulous live cooking stations. The only suggestion for improvement here is more vegetarian options please. Every single member of staff went over and above to make our stay absolutely brilliant. Thank you so very much to each and every staff member. We were very sad to leave"
Neptuno Apartments
"Apartments are great, everything you need and clean. No balcony just a little step outside the sliding doors. We didn't know we would have to pay 100 euros deposit then the hotel decides if its clean enough when you leave before they return it. We asked for clean towels and were told no, they change them every 3 days. You get to use the hotel pool, roof top pool is amazing. Most of the staff were pleasant. Overall a good stay"
Camping Bungalows El Far
"¡A great place to relax! The sea is close, the landscape is incredibly beautiful, ¡The cafeteria food is delicious! I would like to thank the administrator Enrique for his warm welcome and friendlyness, and generally all staff are very kind."
Hotel Bernat II
"The staff are very friendly <3 We arrived really late as it was quite further location from the airport, but we felt very welcomed as soon as we walked in. The cleaning staff cleaned and made our bed every day and I had no complains! They were very helpful when we came to ask about transportation. The city itself was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay :))"
Checkin Garbí
"This hotel was perfect for Ironman, the location and early breakfast on race day was very much appreciated. However, upon our arrival we were greeted by refuges outside the hotel and in the hotel lobby, although they were no harm it felt rather intimidating when being stared at by 20-30 young men. Also, we were unable to use the sun beds at the pool as they were all taken up by the refugees. I would have liked to have been informed of this prior to booking as I would not chose to spend my holiday in a refugee camp. "
Hotel Oasis Park Splash
"We booked one week at this hotel. Do not go all-inclusive!!! The food is so poor and badly undercooked, the cocktails are average, the snacks are basic and everyday is the same thing to eat. We had to eat out after day 3. Our room view was of the bins and car park, and because of the bins our room had the worst smell it made me physically urge when I first entered everyday, and rooms are so small for 4 ppl only one person at a time can manoeuvre around, the other 3 have to stay sat on the bed. The evening entertainment is so disappointing, the only thing that was good was the weather and the day trip we booked to Marineland water park. We were told we could do late checkout and could only do so on the morning of checking out, but when I tried I was told no and our flight home wasn’t until 22.45 PM, we had to be out of the room by 10.30 AM. I could cry as I spent a lot of money on this holiday. But we live and learn."
