The Waverley Hotel
"Hotel was great. Staff were so attentive. Made sure we felt comfortable. Food was amazing proper pub grub 10/10. Lovely wee stay, definitely would return 🥰👌🏻"
Thackray House
"We had been previous visitors to The Potting Shed before it became Strawberry Fields, and while we loved The Potting Shed, the experience we had tonight was even better. Firstly, we dined al fresco; sitting outside under the canopy in the fading sunlight was delightful and set the tone for a relaxed yet special evening. Our waitress was the perfect hostess, knowledgeable, and very professional indeed. To start, we shared the flatbread with herbs, salad, and aioli. The bread was cooked to perfection and the herbs fresh from the garden added a fragrant, vibrant touch that elevated the whole dish. For mains, we both chose the Perthshire sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection, presented in thinly carved slices and quite literally melted in the mouth. The sides of hispi cabbage and creamed potato, which we shared, were excellent in their own right, but it was the trio of sauces, the chimichurri, bearnaise, and a rich red wine jus that brought everything together. Each added depth and character, creating a combination that was truly to die for. The addition of crispy beef scattered across the top made the whole meal delicious. We finished by sharing a cheeseboard with coffee. The selection was generous, including Brie, cheddar, and blue cheese, accompanied by oatcakes and crackers. The curious pickled grapes, sharp with vinegar yet surprisingly delicious, and a chutney with a warming chilli kick, made it even more memorable. All in all, a real five-star quality dining experience. Excellent value for money for the quality and experience given. We will definitely be back."
Crown Hotel
"We found the hotel on Dugs N Pubs, and went in for lunch. They were very busy and that is a vote of confidence in itself. In total we were in for two and a half hours with apology for delay mentioned generally. The food was no doubt affected by the pressure the staff were expensing, but was at the poor end of the quality scale. Goats cheese salad had tough cheese rind and was not warmed and nestled in salad with garlic bread which was unenjoyable. The Hunters chicken was not dry but the cheese seemed to have been too long under the hot plate. Served with salad and chips. The dogs were tolerated and the beer fantastic. All in all, not an enjoyable experience."
Callander Hostel
"Unfortunately my father passed away 3 weeks before to go and they rejected directly to refund us the reservation a cause of the policy of the company. We booked a triple room for my father (died) my mother and me. And after write them replied "medical issues" aren't included in our policy of non-refundable bookings. INHUMAN!!!"
Riverside House
"The house was immaculate with a fantastic atmosphere. The owners were extremely helpful and went above and beyond. There is a great choice and breakfast which was fantastic and topped off with freshly made banana loaf. The service was fantastic. The area was beautiful and offered everything we were looking for."
Lubnaig Guest House
"Warm welcome from the owners. Really comfortable beds in tastefully decorated room with lovely toiletries. Delicious breakfast whilst watching red squirrels play in the garden. Would highly recommend pre-booked evening meal. Callendar a great place to explore from"
Dalgair House Hotel
"Staff food and entertainment were excellent had a great night decor a bit rough round edges but nothing that would put me of going back"
Ben A'an House
"Chose Callander for a stop travelling south as I remembered it from happy childhood holidays caravanning by the river. Lovely wee town with nice shops, a decent pub (we had a hearty modestly-priced meal in The Crown), and an interesting main street. Ben A’an House is a good option for a night in the town, with spacious rooms and a lovely large and clean bathroom. The host Callum is friendly and attentive and provides a great breakfast. Loved the option to spin some vinyl in the breakfast room - neat idea!"
The Abbotsford
"It was very comfortable for my family"
