The rooms are large, beds are good and happy sailing on the ground. Bad rooms are also good, only shower in bathroom. I would put a bath mat in the bathroom against gliding out there. The room was cleaned very low (that is in most Fletcher hotels so) Furthermore, the room was clean. The rest of the hotel is clean. It is a bit dated, but the pleasure and service are excellent. Both the reception and the servers are very friendly, polite and very kind. In short ........ Here we will be happy to come back,

On 16 and 17 February, I was here with my wife for two nights, this hotel has 4 stars, a mystery of where they have them. The room (which was in a building on the side of the main building) was small, poorly maintained, not well cleaned and obeyed. There is a folder on the room about a kind of cousin guarantee and service with different types of cousins, but if you ask for it, the staff will not understand what this folder does on the rooms. All kinds of kisses they have already been on the bed, and this bed is on the gentle side, so I will come out with my back the next morning. The drink card contains a lot of different beer types but only 2 are available. Also from breakfast you should not imagine too much, it is a running buffet with a few breads and breads, egg, spoon 2 types of cheese, 3 types of meat bag and a few cucumbers of pineapple cheese and jam. You must be in the row for a cup of coffee and often stand in the row to wait 5 minutes before your turn. However, it must be said that the staff is very friendly, helpful and understandable. The staff is the only one that meets the number of stars, and my question is: Who gives those stars? I think it can't even be able to be in the better regions for three stars, but four stars are still left. The main building looks good outside, but it remains an old building with a lot of maintenance.

Great hotel but could be fantastic with a few changes. We had a big room which felt like something between a hotel room and an apar**ent - but it was ‚between‘. One could cook a full meal in the small kitchen but it was in the same room as a great bathtub. One was in a hotel but could not make a coffee or tea in room but had a fridge for ‚4 people‘…..some things really well designed (eg bathtub in room) but at the same time Tork paper towel holders and varied things loose, eg clothes hangers on wall, water tap. All in all a bit ‚between‘. Party downstairs was not a big problem for us but did wake us up a few times in the night. Breakfast ok but with just a bit more ‚touch‘, it could have been great.

We took a sate, and asked for a full red wine. The service advised a certain wine we agreed with. When we then got the bill, the wine was €8.00 per glass!!!!!! We find it obviously ridiculous and incredibly unfriendly for the customer that the service advises a wine but not mentioning that the wine is €8.00 per glass. We find this rather overdrived by a satin and I think that a cheaper wine would have been good too. In addition, for a €8.00 wine, I think that the bottle should have been given to the table in the glass and tested. This is now the 2nd bad experience (the first time was with a cup of coffee for which it was later found to be paid expensive, also unannounced) Be open and fair to the customer and let them decide what they want to spend their money so they don't get a bill for something they wouldn't agree with!!!

We missed out on the last ferry (of the day) to Texel and the host, Tordes (hope I spelt your name correctly?), welcomed us for a very late booking at reception at 10pm. Not only did he offer a welcome drink on arrival, but we were given a free upgrade to the suite from the standard room. The suite was very clean and spacious. It included a very spacious ”open-concept” bathroom area (perfect for couples) with a bathtub and shower (hot and cold water), and a balcony overlooking part of the city. The bed had a white curtain canopy and gave us the best sleep of our entire Netherlands trip - thanks to a quality mattress and pillow. Despite having a very loud neighbour and being close to the train station, we experienced no noise. We stayed here on a Friday night, and couldn't hear anything from dusk until dawn, even with windows open. If you like an accommodation with old world charm, and in a good location, definitely check out Hotel Wienerhof. If we had another night in Den Helder, we would stay here again. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. We were in/out in less than 5 minutes. And we felt our host, Tordes was very friendly and kind. Thank you for our stay! Michael
