Dog and Partridge Inn ★★★
"Good location and services"
Bowood Hotel Spa & Golf Resort ★★★★
"We booked a one-night stay in a Luxury Suite as the hotel was the closest to an event we had attended and also had a swimming pool. On arrival, you drive through a very impressive, albeit extremely narrow, stone archway before reaching the hotel. There isn't a dedicated concierge service, but a porter kindly helped us with our luggage and took it up to our first-floor room via the lift. The suite was very spacious, with a comfortable lounge area, a large bed, a desk, and plenty of room to relax. Bottled water was provided in the fridge, and two homemade cookies had been left in the room, which was a lovely touch. The bathroom was also generously sized, with both a bath and a large walk-in shower. Unfortunately, the room itself felt quite tired. The carpet had an open seam running through the middle and had clearly seen better days. The bathroom also needed some attention, as there was a significant amount of mould in the shower. When you maintain your own home to a high standard, it's disappointing to pay for hotel accommodation and be confronted with something so easily preventable. Mould is simply unacceptable in a hotel room and should be addressed as a priority. The spa pool was very busy but had a lovely outlook over the golf course, as did the jacuzzi. However, used towels were left on empty loungers throughout our visit and were never cleared away, which made the area feel untidy. We had dinner in the main restaurant, where the service from the staff was warm and friendly. The food was perfectly acceptable but not particularly memorable. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant. Unfortunately, the buffet was very disappointing and looked rather unappetising. I ended up having only a pot of yogurt from the buffet. The cooked breakfast was fine, but the toast was soggy and uninspiring. It wouldn't take much effort to improve the offering, for example by serving good quality sourdough bread. Overall, our one night stay was adequate for what we needed, but I wouldn't choose to return. It's a shame because, with a little more attention to detail and better maintenance, this hotel could offer a much higher standard of experience."
Found at the foot of Roundway Hill with it's own secluded garden. Pet friendly. ★★★★

Travelodge Chippenham ★★★
"Worst Travelodge we have stayed in. We arrived around 30 mins early to check in and no member of staff were in reception, waited around 20mins for staff to arrive after asking a very rude cleaner to fetch someone for us. Were told we had to wait until 3pm to check in which was fair enough, so we asked if we could go to the bar to get a drink but unfortunately dogs were not allowed, we were not aware of this otherwise I would have chosen elsewhere. I paid for 3 breakfasts but it was shocking! Coffe machine was not working, apple juice was water and no pastries/yogurts and the only fruit they had was a small cereal bowl. Saw a member of staff very briefly to ask where the pastries were but I just got a shrug of the shoulders and a no delivery and then she walked off, also had to help ourselves to serviettes/cutlery from another table. Another customer also told me that the coffe machine was not working the day before either. If we knew that there were issues with breakfast we would have happily gone to Greggs and paid less for more . After breakfast I went to reception, again there were no staff around and the same at check out. I also left my tablet in the room and when I realised this I rang Travelodge and I told them I would pick it up on the way back from my holiday, unfortunately I was unable too as on the way home there was a serious incident on the M5 and we were going nowhere for hours, so I rang Travelodge and spoke to a manager and explained the situation, she agreed to post it which I was really grateful for as it has a lot of senntimental value, 5 days later no tablet so I emailed, no response and then rang ( 3 times to get through to someone) who said it is still sitting in the safe and basically the only thing she could offer was for me to send a pre paid envelope or I collect it ( a 6 hr round trip) I did contact customer service over the issues we had but they move at a snails pace with no resolution. I get the impression they just do not care. Sadly after this expierience I doubt very much whether I will stay in a Travelodge again."
Holiday Inn Express SWINDON WEST by IHG ★★★
"The breakfast was basic and always the same, convenient but very simple. The staff were always lovely. Location-wise, it's convenient for the Cotswolds, but only if you have a car. The hotel itself is simple, old but well-maintained and clean."
Leonardo Hotel Swindon ★★★★
"Location is good, 5-1ins walk to the city centre and shopping mall. Room is clean and the air conditioning is good."
The Northey Arms ★★★★
"Hotel was perfectly located for where I wanted to be. Overall good experience, there is a Trainline behind the accommodation which was noisy and noticeable but not enough to disturb my sleep. Room was lovely and cosy and decor was excellent. Shower was fantastic, evening food was ok but nothing special, breakfast was excellent"
Travelodge Devizes Hotel ★★★
"Easy to find. Good carpark. Great welcome. Lift, which we hadn't seen in travelodge before. It has 2 floors, which was new for us too. Nice room, carpets looked new, clean. Good beds, very high. Comfortable cotton bedding. Good lighting, making possible to read in the night, not disturbing much the other persons. Some effort for sorting out recycling waste. Next to the Travelodge, simple eating: subway, greggs, a kebab... On the minus side: poor phone/data signal. Which made contacting the reception by phone at arrival impossible. Fortunately, other guests arrived just after us and had a better connection from outside the building so the desk was attended very quickly. Wi-Fi free 30 minutes only in travelodge. Pillows a bit thick, no choice for a thinner one. Window only open a tiny bit, for security. The main annoyance was the closeness of the main road, busy on a Sunday evening, in the night around 4am, and the morning. If you are not one to take your earingaid off during the night, use something to block the sounds. Or, pay for choosing a room at the back, and avoid the south side when very hot. It was OK for us, the heatwave was over. Thanks for a lovely night on our way."
