"Easy check in with a friendly service. I didn't have dinner or breakfast in the morning, so can't review the food."

"On Sunday 10th May at 4pm, myself and my family came for afternoon tea, in your restaurant. To begin with, the service we all received started off well. The afternoon tea itself was good, however, once we had all finished, we decided to order 5 limoncello spritzers. The lady at the bar, made the drinks, but then left them at the bar in our view. They were then left there for at least 15 minutes whilst other restaurant staff were walking by and IGNORING them!! My aunts partner who is in his 80’s, decided to go up to the bar himself and fetch the drinks whilst YOUR members of staff stood watching him!! This is a very unacceptable level of service, from what anyone would deem to be a very high end establishment!! Once we had finished our drinks, the restaurant became very quiet so we decided to take this opportunity to go up and ask for the bill. My mum went up and was told by someone behind the bar, to pay at the ‘welcome station’. As a result of being told this my mum did. Eventually, the member of staff was willing to serve my mum who was asked to check over the bill before paying it. As my mum was doing this, she noticed there was an extra afternoon tea added on. It wasn’t until my mum pointed this out that the member of staff removed it from the bill. Good job my mum noticed this because otherwise we would have been paying even more money for poor quality service which surely is not what you want to promote. This left us all feeling extremely disappointed and let down by you and your team which was meant to be a happy family occasion. As a result, we will not be recommending Bowood to anyone else in the future, which I would have done beforehand!"

"Everything is very great. We booked it based on the reviews with no expectation but it’s actually very great to stay in. Everything is clean. But there’s no fridge in some rooms. That’s no problem as we just stayed there for one night. With that price we can’t expect more. The staffs are so helpful and friendly as well. Highly recommend it."

"I had to cancel my stay because I contracted chickenpox, a highly contagious disease. I sent a formal email to the hotel explaining my high fever and physical condition, offering to provide medical certificates. Shockingly, the hotel completely ignored my email and refused my refund request without any consideration. It is incredibly disappointing to see a hotel show such a lack of basic empathy and social responsibility. They would rather risk having a contagious guest than show a bit of flexibility. Avoid this place if you value customer service."

"Two big and one small beds, the room is big enough, and the bathroom is fine. The stairs are too narrow, the old house, the first floor is a bar restaurant, convenient dining, good taste, parking lot in the inner courtyard"

"Easy to find. Good carpark. Great welcome. Lift, which we hadn't seen in travelodge before. It has 2 floors, which was new for us too. Nice room, carpets looked new, clean. Good beds, very high. Comfortable cotton bedding. Good lighting, making possible to read in the night, not disturbing much the other persons. Some effort for sorting out recycling waste. Next to the Travelodge, simple eating: subway, greggs, a kebab... On the minus side: poor phone/data signal. Which made contacting the reception by phone at arrival impossible. Fortunately, other guests arrived just after us and had a better connection from outside the building so the desk was attended very quickly. Wi-Fi free 30 minutes only in travelodge. Pillows a bit thick, no choice for a thinner one. Window only open a tiny bit, for security. The main annoyance was the closeness of the main road, busy on a Sunday evening, in the night around 4am, and the morning. If you are not one to take your earingaid off during the night, use something to block the sounds. Or, pay for choosing a room at the back, and avoid the south side when very hot. It was OK for us, the heatwave was over. Thanks for a lovely night on our way."
