Premier Inn Cambridge East (Newmarket Road)

Just an overnight stay but due to the distance from the Corn Exchange we were not planning to return after our mooch around Cambridge during the day. The staff at this hotel were exceptional in their willingness to help us with an early check in avoiding found this at midnight. The restaurant is currently being refurbished but it caused no issue. Staff here were attentive and courteous and food was of the usual great standard. Prices at Premier Inn seem to be at a premium when a well known band is playing but I still consider it good value for money. I personally enjoy knowing exactly what the room will look like and being confident of the cleanliness standards, especially as it’s basically just a stopover.
Novotel Cambridge North

Right next to the train station, since we have a lot of luggage, zero-distance check-in is still a good choice. Although there are railway tracks outside the window, the sound insulation is very good and has no effect at all. There is a bus at the entrance of the hotel that can go directly to the center of Cambridge, making travel more convenient. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel, there is a costa in the station, and there are no other commercial facilities around. The room is more comfortable and the price is good.
Travelodge Cambridge Newmarket Road

Starting with their location, its quite far from Cambridge Station. From Cambridge Station to hotel: by walk is around 22 mins, by bus is 19-22 mins (£2.80 Adult). From Cambridge City Centre to hotel: by walk is around 27 mins, by bus is 15-19 mins (£1.50 Adult - Elizabeth Way Stop, £1.80 Adult - Newmarket Road stop) Their sevices are ok, friendly and respectful. But no smile, as in poker face. Cleanliness is on point. Absolutely clean and spotless. Very comfortable. As for amenities, they provide all-in-one wash which is bodywash + shampoo in one container fixed firmly on the wall. No bar soap.
Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Cambridge

This hotel was beautiful. Just off the A14 and down a long drive you arrive at this lovely setting with out buildings and an area for wedding parties. Plenty of parking all close to the entrance. On arrival we were greeted and given our room key. We were situated in an outbuilding (Room 404) next to the spa. It seemed this building only had 2 rooms, so we were happy with this. The room was upstairs and had windows in the ceiling to bring in good light. The room was spacious with a nice size bathroom and walk in shower. No complaints about the room at all. I was awoken at 2am but the other room occupants giggling when they came 3 / 4 through the main door. This will happen in any hotel, so this is not a complaint and my wife was not woken. It only lasted 15 seconds until they got in their room. We made good use of the spa facilities using both the Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi. They were empty when we were there, so it was nice, quiet, and great to relax. There are also Steam Rooms, Sauna, and a Gym to use. All looked quite quiet when we were there. There are sunbeds around the pool if you wish to relax and stare into the countryside. Although we didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel, we did have breakfast. Service was good and there was a wide variety of choices. Hot breakfast was cooked to order and service was with a smile. We paid nearly £200 for our visit but enjoyed our stay and it was worth the money.
Holiday Inn Express Cambridge

The hotel was a little bit further than I expected from the town centre. There is a bus route that can go to the town but it's up to a 10 min walk. It would be great if the hotel provided at least a shuttle service because taxis were also quite expensive just for a few miles. The hotel itself was presentable, the staff was helpful and nice, and the rooms were also spacious enough and clean with all the usual amenities. My room had the disabled bathroom so it was a little bigger I think but the drainage needs sorting out because the whole floor almost flooded with water. The heating A/C was working well and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was included in the price and the choice was basic but enough. I did feel that the plate was smaller than many other places I've stayed at but I guess that was to avoid food waste. They had scambled egg only, sausages, bacon, beans, toast, tea/coffee/juice, 3 cereals and spreads for toast-not bad but could be a little better in variety.

This hotel will charge a health fee of 65 pounds, which is higher than the room rate. Be careful when booking! I arrived at the hotel on the day of check-in and told me about the hotel maintenance, and arranged me to another ... In short, it is not recommended! This hotel will charge £65 cleaning fee,and it is unrefundable. This cleaning fee is even higher than the house rate!
