Cambridge (A14, J32)

The bed was the most uncomfortable we have experienced with a Premier Inn, the matrress was so hard, stayed for 2 nights, the second night my husband slept on the single sofa/bed which he said was slightly more comfortable. The breakfast was good with a lot to choose from but the evening meal wasn't, the bruschetta starter which was actually a round garlic flatbread with some cold cherry tomatoes and vinegar on was so hard I couldn't cut it and had to pick it up to eat, the chips were just warm and undercooked, the mixed grill was edible but not great, we didn't complain as was getting late and was tired from having very little sleep the night before. Staff were pleasant. Disappointed as always enjoyed our Premier Inn stays before.

Room smelt of smoke and had a musky smell throughout even though it was a non-smoking room. Spent a horrible night and could not wait to check out the following morning.

And that is what the premier inn does for you. Clean bed / clean bathroom (generally) / somewhere to put your head when away. We usually stay there when visiting in that area (Cambridge), as it is just out of the centre and all the traffic. Free parking which is great although it was much busier that it has been the last time we were there (5yrs). Never a hassle but I wish they would put a fridge on the room.... Handy for those staying a few nights or longer. Helpful staff if needed. Probably will stay there again as you can't beat the price and being right by the A14 doesn't bother us at all (nothing like a bit of background noise... 😉).

Excellent price, clean and quiet room. No issues finding a parking space though the car park is a bit tight to park in! It was a bit slow getting on the WiFi but once on the connection speed was fine for streaming video. Check in was a little slow but otherwise a great spot for the money.

We have stayed here 3 times ,but not for a few years , staff are friendly, parking is great ,it all feels safe & secure , Room was clean but could do with some updating . Breakfast was good & fresh. Dining area was clean & welcoming , We came here with other family for 2 nights, so we had 3 rooms altogether & they had no complaints . we went punting, sightseeing eating & drinking , and to celebrate my husbands 66th birthday , my sister had rang reception a week or two before to ask if we could possibly have wine , cake ,balloon in our room on our arrival, they said they would do something but it may not be exactly that …anyhow they didn’t let us down, they had put confetti filled balloons , 2 large bottles of doom bar , and 2 Easter eggs ,along with special coffee & hotchocolate & a happy birthday hand written note in our room . My hubby was really chuffed as was I when I asked to pay for the goodies and the manager said that wasn’t necessary .. thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will defiantly go back again .thank you all

All we needed for our family stay to be great and have a proper good nights sleep was an extra duvet and pillow. If we were given our request it would make the stay more comfortable as other Premier inns have provided. Kim tried to help but may have ran out of her shift but the second person don't think he wanted to help did say he went to 6th to see but how can a hotel with 8 floors many room not have extra Pillows or duvets. Disappointed with this stay unfortunately

This is close to a bus stop, which is good as the traffic in Cambridge is awful, The room could do with some attention as the edge of the wallpaper was torn, There was only 1 bath towel, had to go down and ask for a second, You have to request that the room is cleaned every day before 12 noon, I expect the room to be cleaned every day otherwise I would have gone to a self catering establishment. The breakfast was rather greasy, so went elsewhere after the first day, We had dinner there twice and the food was ok and a very friendly waitress. The beds are normally the best thing about Premier Inns, but this time I found them to be hard.

Staff very friendly. Bathroom sink was not clean. Safe and secure, just out of town, but close to the A14 which was what we wanted. Good selection of beers at the bar. Public areas very clean and bright. Low noise at night.
