The hotel itself looks nice and is in a great location, but cleanliness is not their top priority. I found what looked like a blood stain on a pillow, some brown stain on a towel another stain on the new pillow cases they had put in after I asked the one with a blood stain. I called and asked for an iron and waited over an hour without anyone attending to my request. Luckily, my friends had an iron in their room so they borrowed me theirs. No one ever got back to me about the iron. This same friend also complained that their dustbin were not emptied after the cleaners came. Reception staff were great though. Very polite

Protea Fire and Ice in Cape Town offers a delightful experience. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, the staff exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast is deliciously satisfying. It's an excellent choice for a memorable stay in the city.

Great location close to Long Street and Kloof Street, the design of the hotel is really nice and modern. The staff was very welcoming. Would stay there again.

Had a wonderful time at the Protea Fire and Ice. Lost apartment was fantastic and everyone was so professional and helpful.

The hotel was out of this world.The staff were friendly and extremely helpful .The hotel’s cleanliness was breathtaking .My room was nice and spacious The hotel bar has an outside are where you can chill and have a cocktail .The hotel also has a restaurant,you don’t have to order in or go out to eat because the food was very good .I cannot wait to be back and experience the pool area

This hotel is absolutely amazing, the service is top tier and it’s so clean..the food is delicious and the staff is so kind..however the rooms are a bit small but cute..totally enjoyed our stay.

I was at the hotel all week with 50 colleagues. Considering the number of colleagues staying, eating, using business facilities, I wasn’t expecting such a personalised experience. The staff (Sarah, lovely host that sits at the cool seat and leather chair at reception, Lindo, Adil, Patricia, cooking staff, cleaning staff) were warm and welcoming while maintaining the highest of quality service. The food was amazing, rooms extremely comfortable and clean! I honestly felt like I was visiting family. Thank you for hosting our Orica group! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a Mercury Holidays tour. Great hotel in a good location in Cape town. Compact room but it was clean and comfortable . Staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast lovely, we also had a couple of evening meals in the hotel restaurant both very good. Definitely recommend.

This is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for a trendy, nice hotel that is not overly pricey. The price per what you get to experience is perfect. Rooms are relatively small yet well-laid-out and nicely designed. A bit better bathroom products could be offered though. Otherwise, the room is solid. Views to Table Mountain are a fantastic bonus and worth the slight bump in cost. The staff are incredibly friendly AND helpful! I've hardly utiliz the services of a concierge at hotels in general even though I travel frequently. Nevertheless, Charlayne is beyond helpful and knowledgeable. She made this few days in CPT an elevated experience through her suggestions. A great idea- she booked one of the drivers from the hotel to take me to Cape Point/Cape of Good Hope/Boulders Beach for the day and it was 2000 Rands- a fantastic deal to be able to see all of this without having to sit through an all-day-tour with dozens of the same people. It was perfect and Warren was an excellent guide for the day! She gives great advice on places to visit and tailors it quite adeptly to your interests. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic and much grander than typically offered at hotels of a small/medium size. The staff is amazing and the offerings are also! A great way to start the day!! Location is decent although a bit removed (just a bit) from some of the places you may want to walk around and walk to. Nevertheless, Bolt (a fantastic rideshare service at excellent prices) is easy to take all over the area. I highly suggest using Bolt as the primary riding service, which is similar to Uber, Careem, Lyft, etc. Great experience and I would certainly return!

Really comfortable bed, excellent breakfast with everything you could want (except a good strong cup of black tea,) and some exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Our room had a great view of Table Mountain. Didn't eat or drink there apart from breakfast but the bar looked nice. Bit of a modern, funky vibe.

My husband and I stayed at the Protea Fire & Ice during our trip to Cape Town. The hotel is in a great, central location. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. The concierge was helpful when we wanted to explore the city and schedule activities. The restaurant and bar were both really good and my husband enjoyed relaxing on the patio with a cocktail and cigar. Although we did not get in the pool, it appeared to be well maintained and accessible. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Cape Town.

The room was just ok however the staff was awesome and the food was good. We took Uber everywhere and it wasn’t costly from the hotel. We played the games that were sitting out on the tables in the common area. You can map out your excursions with the person sitting at the desk.

Great friendly & helpful young team here in a new, modern hotel that is well located and offers real comfort, good facilities and a fantastic breakfast. At first it all looked a bit trendy and we were worried that it would be all style and less substance, but the there is a real emphasis on good old fashioned quality of service here. The team is young but really do seem to care and were really great. Location is really good - a 20 min walk to the Waterfront means that you have to explore other areas and Kloof St is round the corner and a real gem. Then of course there are the great views of Table Mountain from one side of the hotel to enjoy. Special mention for the breakfast and the lovely fresh scones and really great eggs from the cooks. Added to the friendly young team there every morning it was a great start to every day. The only downside is the gym. Two cardio machines is just not enough for a place the size and I was never able to complete a full workout, despite the gym not being busy at all.

Booked a two bedroom loft, paid 1000 more than a one bedroom then charged 300 more for second person? Odd smell in the room. Great buffet, good food and service. Disappointing service from front desk and management. Better options in cape Town.
