The view of the room is just Perfect! The staff is so helpful as well, they kindly help us carry the luggage to our rooms without us asking for help. The safari drive is also wonderful. Thank you for everything

The whole experience at Aquila was unreal. Our check-in experience was very smooth even though we were very late and had to immediately go for our sunset safari. The buffet spreads across all meals was great overall! Staff was very friendly. The rooms were extremely spacious, clean and had great views. We were on Level 1, so we had access to a huge patio which opened up to the serene beauty of the mountains.

This is our second visit so we knew what to expect. It was our honeymoon and as such we chose to pay double what we did last year to have a room overlooking the safari park. We were given a ground floor room with disabled access and a hoist over the bath.. The view is the one thing we had hoped for and all we could see were sunbathers and umbrellas. Despite paying an awful lot of money the furniture was poorly maintained and in poor state. (This room was over £450 per night). The game reserve did not disappoint and as I said in my previous post, this is a private game reserve and although feels "staged" the animals are well cared for. A shout out to Josh our game driver, who made it fun and was very informative. The food was poor and I am sure I became ill after a prawn chow main dish (the uncooked prawns were in a bowl uncovered) and I have severe D &V. There was poor signage on the food so you had to prize the staff apart who were chatting together to ask them what was in the dishes. If you were vegan you would struggle. The fact that no fluids is included in what is already an expensive price is poor. The bar was not as nice as before, in fact, we went upstairs the first night and there was football on all the TVs so more of a sports bar. Such a shame. The staff were friendly enough but we had to ask to be served wine at the table. They even ran out of Rose at lunch time on the second day, had some in the evening, then ran out again....The staffs uniforms were tired and inconsistent and it definitely wasn't as slick as last time. Whilst waiting for our room change (to a fab room on top floor with great views and honeymoon petals -thank you to Gertrude) we went across the road to the Ecosynergy tour at the Animal rescue Centre. This is SO UNDERVALUED- its an amazing free tour where we learnt a great deal form out guide and would really recommend this. We finally moved to our new room on the third floor with amazing views - sadly the carpet was rucked up (a real trip hazard) and the mattress was in an appalling state as we saw the next day when we stripped the bed. We love it here but won't be back. The costs are far too much for value with decreasingly poor food, staff wearing pretty bad uniforms and no water provided. The Reserve does look after its animals but some of our costs would be well spent on upgrading the facilities for the guests who are over paying

Response from Property: Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at the reserve. We’re truly sorry to hear that some aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations, especially considering it was such a special occasion for you. We appreciate your kind words about our game driver, Josh, and about the work we do at the reserve to care for our animals. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the Ecosynergy tour at the Animal Rescue Centre—it's definitely a unique experience we’re proud to offer. We value your feedback and will use it to make improvements to our facilities and guest services. Warm regards, The Aquila Team

Good for a taster safari experience, we stayed 2 nights, included full board and 4 safaris. Overall it wasn’t bad, room was a little bit tired and cleanliness was disappointing. Water in room was in refilled bottles and not sealed ones. This tasted odd, we did discover refilling our own in the on site spa was the better option. Spa itself wasn’t bad, the hot stone massage (at extra cost) was good. The guides on safari were varied in their approach and some inconsistent information was given, (we were told the female elephant was 50 and 26 years old) Tyler(or Taylor) was really informative and little extras like spotting a Dung Beetle and demonstrating the type of rock used for paint, body paint and sunscreen etc was good, the other guide came across as less experienced and knowledgeable. The reserve as a whole is a small organisation and is managed, so animals guaranteed - definitely the BIG 4, the leopard was however elusive and not seen, one guide described how he’d only seen it once in 8 years! The lions are in their own separate area of the reserve, they were quite docile- apparently rescue lions still adjusting to their new home. We also paid for and additional Quad bike experience, this was fun but another couple in the group arrived late and we lost 15 mins of safari time, I felt the guide drove too fast though and I didn’t feel safe trying to keep up, spent more time looking at the track to avoid ruts and rocks than being able to enjoy the scenery. The stargazing session was a let down, first night the guide said the telescope was broken, second night different guide had much more information and a telescope! He also took the group to the purpose built spot that eliminated much more light pollution. So again inconsistent. The catering was basic and lots of choice but if you’re a fussy eater it might not suit. Also beware the Baboon if you’re dining outside! Also worth noting only juices were included in the mornings buffet, all other meals drinks were extra, not even water was included. We felt 2 nights was enough , 3 would have been one too many.
