"In general the hotel was really nice however I would say the hotel should invest in soft closing doors on the rooms and on the wardrobes. Both me and my partner had 2 nights at the hotel and had poor sleep both nights due to how loud the room doors are when being closed. The room was nice and the food in the restaurant was excellent but I likely wouldn’t stay here again due to how loud it was and how poor sleep quality I had."

"Lovely building, very good service and in a quiet but convenient location for Wem High St. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. I had a single room overlooking the beautiful grounds. The room and en-suite were a little tired and could do with a refresh but the bed was comfortable and the room spacious and full of Georgian character. The duvet weight was too heavy for summer so I slept under a throw with the window open as it was a very warm night. The staff were helpful and attentive. The Old Rectory is good value and I would stay there again."
