I arrived here a bit frazzled after a 5 hour journey from Essex to visit family in Carlisle and was immediately charmed by the beautiful house in a calm wooded valley with river flowing in front. I was upgraded to The New Room which is a huge luxurious room with glorious views over the gardens and river. The bed is very comfortable and the room has a working fireplace with logs provided, just what you need on a winter's evening. The owners are charming and very friendly and as one of the only guests staying that night I felt I had the hall to myself! The drawing room is a lovely comfortable room to sit in. I dined in on the first evening of my stay and the food was superb - I can recommend the steak pie and particularly the sticky toffee pudding. I was so impressed by the comfort and welcome at Warwick Hall and will definitely be back the next time I come north.

We recently stayed at the Warwick Hall B&B for a trip up to see Hadrians Wall. The building and grounds are beautiful, we took a walk our first evening and saw the walled garden, you can see all the vegetables they grow themselves. We stayed in the corner room and it was stunning. The bed was huge and so comfortable, the view is absolutely amazing. Everything was clean and welcoming. We had dinner one night and this was great too, the cheese soufflé was definitely a highlight. All the staff we encountered were lovely and helpful. Everyone was very accommodating. We especially enjoyed meeting Rhubarb, the resident dog! She was so sweet and friendly. Overall we would definitely recommend Warwick Hall, and my partner and I fully intend to return in the future.

Breaking the long journey south from the Highlands, this hotel will become our new favourite. The Corner Room is spacious with views of the river and a generous bathroom with deep bath. Dog friendly really means something here - rugs and blankets available and dogs accommodated in 1 of 2 dining areas to suit all. Lovely dinner menu and breakfast was perfect. Warm, friendly welcome - cannot recommend this hotel enough for breaking the journey but also well located for touring.

We stayed at Warwick Hall recently on our way home from Scotland. It is so convenient for the M6 for transiting guests, but also ideally located for visiting Cumbria and The Lakes. This imposing country house hotel is a real gem, situated in beautiful grounds and providing guests with a real insight into the decadent lifestyles enjoyed by 18th Century & Victorian aristocracy. We stayed in The New Room, a huge space with panoramic views out over the gardens to the River Eden and the hills beyond. The room was very comfortable, well appointed with a spacious bathroom with walk in shower and large bath. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and particularly important was the fact that our little spaniel could stay in the room with us! In fact the whole establishment was incredibly doggie friend. The staff too, not to mention Rhubarb the resident pooch who instantly became friends with our boy. We dined in on the evening of our stay, and we were really impressed with the menu choice and indeed the food itself. The whole experience was exceptional and worthy of any good restaurant. The breakfast was equally good, (we had the Full English) and again there was a good choice. As with the room, our dog was welcome to accompany us in the dining room, for which we were very grateful. The grounds are beautiful and there is a very pleasant riverside walk, ideal for dogs. All in all, a great experience, and we will return soon... in May to be exact!!

I highly recommend this hotel. It is run by the owner who cares about each and every detail. The food is exceptional in a machine restaurant that is not expensive. The Breakfast is incomparable. The view is one of a kind.

Wonderful friendly oasis of tranquility, and a real privilege to stay in such a fabulous place. We stayedinthecorner room which has great views of the river from one set of windows, and across the front from the side. Its lovely to wander along the riverbank path and discover the walled garden. Breakfast was taken in a lovely room open to the river views. Dinner, which was excellent, was in an adjoining room. The hotel welcomes dogs, and provides for them well. This place will be on every itinerary of ours when we travel up to Scotland.

We booked for Afternoon Tea as we have driven past on the busy A69 so many times! What an amazing place, beautiful gardens and the Hall was elegant and sedate. We had a delicious Afternoon Tea overlooking the River Eden and then enjoyed a wander by the river and a look around the walled garden. Service was attentive and friendly, our teapot was refilled without having to ask. So much better than the busier places around the Lake District! Highly recommended for a relaxing and peaceful afternoon.
