Carmel Country Inn

We have stayed at Carmel Country Inn at least 5 times over the past few years. Amy and her staff are wonderful. They are so friendly and provide a great environment. We bring our dog along and he loves it there too. They really do cater to pets and their owners. The rooms are very clean and comfortable; we get the King Suite with the fireplace in the living room. There is a nice variety of food for breakfast each morning and snacks in the afternoon (plus treats for the dogs). The location is quiet but only a few blocks from the center of town. We look forward to our next visit to Carmel and the Carmel Country Inn.

What a charming, quaint gem in the heart of Carmel. My husband and I stayed two nights and it was a perfect spot. Our room was spacious and had a lovely fireplace which made it all the more cozy. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered cookies and snacks. The helpful and thoughtful service continued through our stay. When we wanted to head to the beach, we were provided with beach towels and directions. When we wanted restaurant reservations, they were very helpful. The rooms were kept spotless and we both appreciated that the noise levels were kept to a minimum, especially after 9 p.m. We didn't bring our doggie with us but loved seeing all the four legged friends on the property. Super lovely, great place, wonderful people and perfect location. Go!

After coming to CCI for over 20 years, and at least 12 during Car Week, my positive reviews still hold. We’ve been seeing the same wonderful people during car week, and have even maintained friendships with many. This year, however, was different. Unfortunately, some regulars were unable to come, and there were a number of new people. My husband and I were appalled by the requests/demands made by these people. I even heard one female ask that Amy remove one of the people who are always there and put her and her husband and 2 other people in their place. Amy, very diplomatically said she sends out emails prior to Car Week, and that she would let them know. Two other women made numerous requests - nail and hair appointments and Jackie filled them all without so much as a thank you. Sharon served them breakfast, treats, and afternoon snacks, again, not a kind word. Entitled? We love this Inn so much.

The staff was amazing me the stay was cozy and in a great location.

The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful—surrounded by nature, that made me feel truly alive. Everything about the environment was breathtaking and relaxing. However, I did feel that some of the staff in the cafeteria were not as friendly or welcoming toward us compared to how they treated other guests. It was disappointing and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. I can’t help but wonder if it had to do with us being Hispanic. I hope this is something they reflect on, as hospitality should feel warm and inclusive for everyone.
