Excellent spacious accommodation and facilities in a beautiful rural setting. Loved the indoor pool and the air conditioning. Convenient location but you need a car as beach and shops a little distant. Quiet with lovely grounds for a good rest

Firstly I would like to say the staff were very friendly throughout our 2 day stay at collina village, could not fault them at all. Which was very helpful after an early flight etc. Food was basic we only had the breakfast which wasn't alot of choice, scrambled egg, bacon ,toast and cereals, yogurts were very watery and not much flavour, but it filled a hole for us to go and explore. The board walk was a beautiful walk with my partner as we enjoy walking so really enjoyed this part of the holiday, the views were outstanding, we couldn't enter any caves as they were all shut off with gates across ,I think it was due to the weather being windy. The carveneiro village was about 5 minutes in taxi from our apartment which was great, we used a bolt like uber which was incredibly useful for us as we like to explore new places . The apartment... well it was spacious, very basic, the beds were hard , no hot water in the apartment ,we had one bath a day between us as the water went cold after one shower or bath, and did not heat up till the next day. The kitchen had everything really you needed, but I would never stay here again especially with children, we had bed bugs in our bed and contained bites all over our faces. The reception man said we would have a maid clean our room with fresh towels and toilet roll each day ,we did not receive that. Very cheap ,dated apartment it was OK for a place to stay whilst exploring as a couple but would never take the children. The food on carveneiro was outstanding especially the casa algarvia, and the tapas restaurant opposite Levels, another great bar to attend was mungos in carveneiro, fantastic couple who run this bar, who made our stay in carveneiro the best .

Enjoyed our stay. The property is old and traditional. The grounds are well kept. The staff were exceptionally courteous. We ate twice at the restaurant and the food was excellent. It is a 25 minute walk to the beach and a 8 euro cab back after having a few beverages. Feragudo and Portimao are close by and the grocery store is about a 10 minute walk. If you have transportation you will find it a very nice area without the hustle and bustle of the beach area. Not a new and splashy resort but an excellent choice regardless. Thoroughly recommend!

Just arrived back from a week at Colina Village. The first thing I’d say is all the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful which was a great start. This was particularly important on our first day as we arrived in terrible weather and the rain had leaked through the roof of our apartment. Reported to reception who quickly moved us into another like for like room which was a big relief. The rooms are decent, if a little dated. Beds especially could really do with new mattresses as they’re rock hard and they’ve seen better days. You’re limited on hot water before the boiler needs to fill back up, we needed to spread our showers out between the 4 of us over an hour or two - not ideal but didn’t cause much of an issue as we were rarely rushing anywhere. There’s zero Wi-Fi in pretty much every area even communal ones - none at all in rooms, which was a big downside for the kids. Cleaning service was brilliant, they came every day and replaced towels, toilet roll etc. The restaurant was never even close to busy which is rarely a good sign - we either went out or cooked at the apartment as the couple of families we asked about it were both very critical, which mirrors a lot of the reviews I’d read before booking. All in all we had a decent enough stay, especially at the price, but I don’t think we’d go back to Colina. There are several better options nearby for a slightly higher cost.

Just got back from a week here. We used it as a base for cycling which was ideal as the location was perfect to explore the area. There is an Intermarche 0.9 miles away. We had a 2 bed villa which was very spacious. Loved the separate lounge area and kitchen and of course a spare room. Yes it is dated and 1 of the beds was really noisy but was adequate for our needs. Villa Our villa faced the main road, which although seems small it was incredibly busy and we were disturbed every night, throughout the night by noisy traffic. There is a very small balcony area which didnt get the sun but the views were quite nice and you could see the sunrise. Food We were really disappointed, having stayed half board in many hotels of varying star ratings, this was by far the worst. Breakfast was childrens cereals (3 of), cold bacon, cold scrambled egg, toast, yoghurt, very watered down juices. Nice fruit salad, selection of cold meats and a cheese. It never changed. The evening meal was from a menu, hit and miss, most of the meat choices were tasteless and dry, the fish and lasagne were nice. I prefer a buffet style by choice. The waiting staff worked hard and were polite. Pool Outside pool was fantastic, plenty of sunbeds, large pool that didnt make your eyes sting or smell of chlorine. We didnt use the indoor pool. Wifi What wifi, there was none available in the villa and even when you went to the pool area or reception it was hit and miss. We needed it to upload our routes for the next day and it became an issue on occasion. There was no atmosphere at the hotel and I appreciate we came at the end of the season. I dont think we would stay here again sadly.

This hotel is lovely but they need to update it a bit it’s a good bit out the way and we had to get taxis yeah there is a shuttles bus but not times suitable maybe a better shop is needed and a laundry the staff are nice how ever one was very rude all the time and moaned when ordering food from the restaurant to the bar table when we where told to ask there the food ok how ever again my daughter was served raw chicken from the mixed kehab when we complained they said it was raw but she would be fine and still charged me 🙈 I wouldn’t return here if they fixed the room and maybe made it full booked as the shops had a few inflatable and water and bread only

What can I say, it’s nice if a bit tired. I found the staff obnoxious at times and in some cases I felt we were intruding. During our visit there was a medical emergency, a cardiac arrest, two of our group are paramedics and dealt with it, we asked for a defibrillator and was told it was in reception, they didn’t go for it , just suggested we went, when we did we found they didn’t have one. I’m not writing this for praise or to suggest our group is special, but I felt we were treated with contempt after the incident, the staff seemed more concerned about any outcome reflecting badly on them rather than about the lack of any basic life support knowledge or equipment available on site. We enjoyed Portugal but the village may well be somewhere we don’t return to. In summary forget about the medical emergency and consider how you want to feel on holiday. It didn’t feel like a holiday.

Certainly very adequate. As others have said, this does need money spending on it, in order to make it “look” better. However, they say beauty is skin deep, so the opposite may apply. The staff, on the whole, were extremely helpful, but obviously some exceptions apply. Half of our party were delayed, the bar was shutting, but we were welcome to buy a large round and wait for them, the night staff on reception, and the bar staff were all extremely patient, friendly, attentive and understanding. The ONLY issue I have, and shared by my whole party, was breakfast. The first morning we asked for a tea as there are two (was only one working) coffee machines dispensing one drink at a time. We were given teapots with boiling water and all was good. Next, and subsequent mornings, we had to fill the teapot ourselves from the coffee machine at a rate of one “espresso sized” water at a time, 5 presses to get the required amount, and disapproving looks from the queue behind. On the penultimate morning, a very helpful staff member filled it from the kitchen, under the disapproving glare of one of the older members of the team. He was obviously told off, as when a refill was asked, he then went to the machine, I then took over as I felt it was the right thing to do. The breakfast selection was bacon (if you were lucky) and scrambled egg ( again if you were lucky) to get both at the same time was a bonus. There was a selection of cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, etc which was adequate. Food other than breakfast was delicious and very reasonably priced and the service was great. All in all I would stay again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice due to breakfast.
