One of the best trips I had thanks to Castel Monastero. The place itself is magical, very beautiful Castel. The rooms are great and clean. However, the part that made our trip so special is the team of the hotel. They made us feel like we have family there. The restaurants are phenomenal, I had a lot of restaurants on my list but we ended up going only to the hotel restaurants. We went two nights to Contrada because we had such an amazing experience. Davide, Vittorio and Manuela are amazing- their whole team is incredible. I highly highly recommend the tasting menu- it is a whole journey.

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s a nice, secluded hotel with a great pool, spa, and gym area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The first room we were given was beautiful, but at night we noticed tiny ants on the bed. Given the natural surroundings, it didn’t seem unusual. We called the front desk, and they quickly moved us to another room. The second room was perfectly clean and actually turned out to be better. It had views of both the hotel’s main entrance and the courtyard, and we preferred it because of its spacious, open layout compared to the first one. The hotel’s food was great, and the breakfast offered a good variety to start the day. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience.

Excellent venue. Originally a monastery built in the 11th century and converted to a luxury hotel 13 years ago. Great staff with excellent facilities and service. Not cheap, but well worth the price for a special occasion. Fairly remote location, so make sure to make transportation arrangements.

Castel Monastero is undoubtedly one of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The bedrooms are stunning. They manage to mix quintessential Tuscan living with modern luxury. I really appreciated the care that the cleaners took to ensure that my room was spotless each day, as well as the turn-down service they offered in the evening. The hotel has 3 pools, including 1 indoor pool, as well as ample sun loungers. The pool bar staff are extremely attentive, and the food served here is exceptional. Beyond the pool, there are plenty of facilities at the hotel to enjoy, including a tennis court (with a stunning view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside), and a fully-equipped gym. There are 2 restaurants on site - Contrada and La Cantina, both of which are excellent. We dined in the Cantina almost every night of our stay, as their homemade pasta was just too good to miss! Indeed, all the food at the hotel, from breakfast through to dinner, is of the highest quality. The staff at La Cantina were incredibly hospitable and they really made every dinner special. In fact, every member of staff at the hotel is extremely polite and welcoming, they go above and beyond to ensure you have a restful stay. We will deeply miss Castel Monastero, it is an exceptional hotel and I can only hope everyone gets to experience this place for themselves. Thank you.

Beautifully and tastefully restored, this hotel is very beautiful and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, 3 pools never overcrowded, a nice gym and a yoga deck and a tennis court. Luscious gardens, good food and convenient location close to many beautiful towns and Vineyards.

Five star property - beautiful facilities and grounds with large comfortable rooms. One-star for lack of hospitality, passive-agressive front desk staff that regarded us with disdain, lack of concierge service, mediocre restaurant with limited hours, exorbitantly priced 25E cocktails with no food/snack service at the bar, over-priced pre-determined taxi fare and no shuttle to/from Siena. Breakfast was the one exception - plentiful with many varieties of tasty offerings, and pleasant wait staff. Castel Monastero is better suited for a special event buyout than it is for tourists. Recommend staying in Siena as you'll have a lot more options. September 2023.

I celebrated my birthday with a large group of friends (60) in June 2024 and everything came out perfect . Alessia, the hotel event planner did a FANTASTIC job by facilitating every request and making sure that everything was perfect . The hotel’s rooms are extremely comfortable , spacious and charming . The food excellent The spa massages were above expectation Alessia organized bike riding / truffle hunting/ wine tasting/ Pilates activities which all came out super fun The bike ride was just magnificent And the hotel is just 20 mn from Sienna I can only highly recommend the hotel , for couples, families and larger groups as well
