We stayed at the hotel for one night, as we had been to an event close by.The welcome was warm & friendly.The hotel had a modern feel,was very clean & well kept.We had dinner & breakfast.Both were excellent using good quality products & the service very good.Parking was very easy,outside the hotel on a quiet road.Would recommend this friendly Hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

Popped in for a drink and got one of the best welcomes ever. We were so impressed we went back the following day for food and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and very reasonable prices. Only regret is that we didn't find the place sooner. Would definitely recommend!

The food is amazing and not crazy priced. The staff including the owners were fantastic and really friendly. A warm setting in the bar area with plenty of drink options. Very clean and tidy throughout. It’s easy to see why this is a favourite with the locals.

We arrived and were helped to room No4 that had a quaint set up for the shower/toilet that involved descending down 3 steps. We quite like 'quirky' so it didn't bother us. The good sized room was freshly decorated, newly carpeted and was clean with a comfortable bed. The 'telly' was a little small and far away, though. The shower was brand spanking new, very efficient and this area had also been redecorated and recarpeted. The evening meal was great - as was the breakfast. We weren't charged any extra for upgrading to a double room with dual occupancy which impressed us no end. Also - all the staff were helpful and friendly which counts for a great deal in the B&B business. I recommend this hotel as a good and reliable budget stay over!

I booked another hotel in Castle Douglas on line for my son & his wife from the USA and myself - the hotel proved to be unsatisfactory on our arrival, We checked into the Market Inn Hotel - a excellent decision. The hotel's friendly staff were extremely helpful and made our stay most enjoyable. We have no hesitation in recommending the Market Inn Hotel to anyone visiting the Castle Douglas area, and we will most certainly be back.

A lovely little place. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is excellent with a good choice. Rooms are small but immaculate. We can't praise the staff here enough. It's a great base for exploring the local (or not so local) area. We drove around the coast enjoying the beautiful scenery.

I didn't stay here, but enjoyed a couple of good meals in a warm busy atmosphere. Up at the top end of town, full of colourful locals - Castle Douglas is off the tourist trail, and all the better for it.

On arrival we were met by Gemma and shown to our room it was spacious and clean. There was a problem with the radiator so we were given a heater which was adequate. Bed was comfortable and shower was really good. We had evening meal here there was plenty of choice on the menu and all the produce is locally sourced. Breakfast was as good as evening meal. The inn has been refurbished it is done out to a lovely comfortable standard. The staff here are lovely and so friendly very professional. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Well done to Gemma and the team
