Bellingham Castle

This is a request not a review.. I ask my fairy godmother to transport me to Bellingham Castle , she must include the chef from this weekend to be part of the package , I am really secretly sure that was what my destiny entailed .. I always dreamed of being a princess and this visit realised my dream .. thank you Ciara, Patrick and your entire team for proving that dreams can come through.

Our daughter celebrated her wedding at Bellingham Castle in June 2024, and it was truly an exceptional venue. Every staff member provided superb service, combining professionalism with a personal touch. Having never attended an event at Bellingham before, we were advised to expect something remarkable, and those recommendations were entirely accurate. The atmosphere, the grounds, and the quality of service—from the drinks and canapés to the main reception and evening supper were all outstanding. We discussed returning to enjoy the venue on the rare occasions it opens for previous wedding couples and their parents. Last week, we had the opportunity to do just that. In a more relaxed and intimate setting, we were warmly welcomed from beginning to end. The quality of service, along with the pristine bedrooms and beautiful drawing rooms and suites that we could explore at our leisure, made for a truly wonderful experience. Bellingham Castle holds a special place in our hearts, largely due to its outstanding staff. They seamlessly combine luxury with expert service, infusing the warmth of Irish hospitality with unmatched professionalism, creating a guest experience that makes you feel like a valued friend. Wow.. words can’t describe the love I have in my heart for bellingham castle! Let me start off by saying a huge thank you to Ciara and all the team including matthew who was very helpful everytime I called or when dropping stuff off. I can’t express how grateful we are to you all. What a stunning venue and the staff really make you feel so welcome, at home and cater to your every need! They literally went above and beyond. We found the venue in the summer of 2022 and as soon as those gates opened we knew we had found our dream wedding venue. It is everything i’ve ever dreamt of and more. We had several meetings, tours and discussions leading upto our big day. Our wedding day was like something out of a fairytale. We had a horse and carriage that led us upto the castle and it was a complete Cinderella dream come true. Our guests have not stopped raving about how beautiful the venue is, the food was top tier standard- a tasting was unavailable leading upto the wedding and we were reassured we would not be disappointed with the food- there could not have been truer words spoken. We had some tough crowd pleasers when it comes to food in attendance at our wedding and they said they’ve never had better food. It is unbelievably good. The menu has such an amazing variety to cater to all guests and each course just was devine. We requested our names in chocolate for the desert plate which was a beautiful touch. We had a stunning day for weather so the drinks reception was outside as was the cake cutting. The rooms are stunning! Our guests said they never slept in more comfortable beds! Ciara gave us a top class welcome into the ballroom- we felt euphoric in that moment! It was honestly the best day of our entire lives and a day none of guests will ever forget and we owe alot of that to Bellingham castle because as beautiful as the venue is the people are even more beautiful and that really makes a day happy when you have really happy and nice people around you. We wouldn’t have wanted to work with a nicer team of people. Thank you so much for an amazing day that we will never forget. I can’t wait to return (there is a room named Maura so it’s just meant to be) - 10/10 top service, top class venue, stunning grounds and the best wedding all our guests have ever been to!

Having previously had an unbelieveable experience here for our wedding in March 2022. We booked in for one of the over night stay offered by the castle at times during the year. We were blown away by the absolute excellence, friendliness and professionalism of all staff members. It is so unique to find staff of this calibre, particularly the younger team members who have clearly been trained to an exceptionally high standard by Ciara, Patrick & the team. They are a credit to themselves and Bellingham Castle. The food is phenomenal, from the canapés, main course (we both had beef), dessert & breakfast. The grounds are stunning. It really feels like home away from home in 5 star luxury which is extremely rare to find anywhere in the world. Would could not recommend this venue highly enough to any prospective wedding couples or anyone looking for a special night away. Thank you so so much to all the team. From Sean & Amy

We got married in Bellingham Castle in October 2024. It was the first and only venue we viewed and we booked our wedding there on the first appointment as we fell in love with the venue and grounds, and whilst they are beautiful, we soon realised the Castle’s real selling point are the amazing staff who run it. We were shown around by Max, who was fantastic, providing advice on how best to utilise the venue on the day as well as making us feel so welcome, like we had arrived into someone’s home, and that it could be our home for the day. Throughout the year, I found the staff operate in a completely different level of hospitality compared to anywhere else I’ve been. Every email we have sent them has been responded to within an hour and no question or query left unresolved. Every single member of the team we interacted with were fantastic. For our final details appointment we had Max again and again he was amazing. No idea, thought or question was too much hassle. I told him I was convinced I would get an Indian summer day and not to worry about an inside wedding - and I was so hopeful we would get him as our coordinator on the day, but was advised that it may not happen and all the other coordinators were fabulous. However on the morning of my wedding as I pulled up for our first look in the gardens. There was Max. Waiting to greet us and help us down to the garden and from there the day was utterly seamless. We had incredible weather and married in the grounds with our drinks and canapés outside as I had hoped. The staff think of everything including ensuring the groom and I had drinks brought to us and a plate of canapés set aside so we actually got to eat something between all the hugs and photos during the reception. The food was the best I’ve ever experienced at a wedding and myself and my husband are incredibly fussy. But we were blown away. All of our guests have said the same thing, the food, accommodation and staff are absolutely incredible. A special shout out to Thomas who runs the dinner service in the Bute Suite. He is a gem. But it’s the personal touches that Bellingham Castle just inherently do without request that really make best in class. The staff arranged last minute meals for additional on the day for guests without issue, they brought an elderly guest who lives in the Care home in Castlebellingham, home in the evening with their van, so they were not struggling in the dark to get home, they provided a rose petal turn down, hand written cards and chocolates for us as a surprise in the honeymoon suite. My husband and I, were totally blown away at how wonderful the entire wedding was, and again thank you to all of the staff and Max who really is best in class at all he does. Bellingham Castle will hold a place in our hearts forever and we have already booked to stay with them again in 2025.

We are old and we have been to lots of weddings…… But none have been like this. The venue itself is beautiful the grounds were immaculate and the sun came out during the ceremony. (Anywhere else I’d put that down to coincidence but as everything else was perfect maybe that was organised too!!!) We got a great greeting with a an umbrella during a drizzly start and directions to our immaculate room in the boathouse. The ceremony itself was lovely but when we sat down to eat that the staff and the place showed how good they were. It was simply seamless - the food was better than we have had in many restaurants but there were just under 200 guests. And to do that takes some doing!! I didn’t see any member of staff (and there were a lot if them) put a foot wrong from start to finish and the whole organisation was so slick. I can’t imagine how much staff training and attention to detail it takes to run an establishment like this but that investment has paid off. This place is quite simply excellent.
