Villiers Hotel

Awful, do not reccomend Had to wait 45 minutes for tea bags, 30 minutes for ice, hair dryer broke, only 2 plug sockets in the room that we could use, 1 by the window and one too far away from the bed to charge at night, hairs in the bath, the shower gel was filled with water, conditioner was empty, had to wait 20 minutes and multiple calls to get it refilled, pillows were thin and seemed underfilled, all staff seemed like they didnt want to be there and whenever we asked for anything, it was made complicated and like we were putting them out by asking for help, supposed to be a high end hotel, would have had better service at a ibis budget. Best parts were the window nook and the size of the room

The room was cold on arrival, no heating and thermostat turned to 0, it took a long time to heat up. Was also rather noisy in our room from the music downstairs and the moving of beer barrels late at night.

Soulless….needs rethinking ! Nice place, however lacks service . Seems to be under staffed I’ve almost been knocked over twice with staff running between areas ( it’s very quiet here too ) Breakfast dinghies muffin a bit tasteless no greenery as mentioned. Coffee machine not on, coffee jug empty . Manager taking personal calls whilst I’m having breakfast .. not great and not heated up for business visits who require a speedy breakfast . Rooms are designed nicely but my room was a bit tatty and grubby in the bathroom . When I checked in late ( after 9pm) I wasn’t advised that the restaurant was still open , however as a veggie there probably would not be much option for a veggie in a steak house , so I collected a take away .. I wasn’t permitted to eat in the non restaurant area of the hotel ! Never had this before and I have travelled the UK ALOT ! It comes across as pretentious but they do not deliver the service that they think they do and it’s certain not a friendly environment … it’ feels very stressed with staff running around the very quiet hotel …the reception isn’t manned and the phone system doesn’t seem fo work .. I won’t be returning .

Nice hotel Good hotel. Staff were nice and breakfast tasted good I had avocado on toast but thought the portion of half a slice of toast with 1 egg was small for the price.

Not bad Pleasant , helpful staff , restaurant too expensive for average food

Fabulous room, location & service! Fabulous service, great room, free town centre parking, nice bar area and delicious breakfast!
