Costa Verde

Overall, this was a very good hotel that allowed us (family of 4; Wife, children 8 & 5 and me - Husband/Dad) have a very pleasant 10 days at the Hotel Costa Verde. Everything is very comfortable. The Hotel is well maintained and clean, and everything is very comfortable. The seats, the beds (not the usual thin springy types), the sun beds, the pool - everything. A very easy hotel to relax in. Our bedroom was large and modern with plenty space for the 4 of us. The service is very good. Vast majority of staff are attentive, hardworking and despite clearly having to work long hours - still do a really good job of serving you as needed; that includes at the bars, reception, the info point etc. We went full board on advice of our Travel Agent, as opposed to all-inclusive. He was bang on as it was cheap to buy drinks, and it was large cans of the good stuff like Coca-Cola etc. Allowed us to go out 3/4 times to Cefalù without being too worried about “value”. There was so much we wanted to do and did whilst there (pool days, Palermo, Cefalù etc) we only used the water park once (which we had one free entry for) which was all we needed - and it was fun, our kids loved it. The bracelet is super simple too, don’t believe the reviews where they say it’s complex - it isn’t. The bus to Cefalù is reliable also, which was great and as we used it a number of times. I haven’t come away with many criticisms. A couple bits of general focused feedback for the hotel. The food is good, especially the first week. After week 1, it’s repeated itself like for like which was a little boring on our second week. We ate on the top floor (our allocated table was there - great by the way, allocated tables) - and despite having the fly swatter on hand and burning coffee grounds; you need a specialist to deal with so many wasps you’d get some nights (not all). Also, trying to get late checkout was impossible. All in all, we’ve had a great time. The hotel is super and we would be very happy to return in future.
Astro Suite Hotel
4.5/548 Reviews
We have just returned from a week in the beautiful town of Cefalu in Sicily - an area which we first visited in 2017. This time we stayed in the Astro Suite Hotel and here are our comments (some positive and some negative) which hopefully will help others to make a decision on where to stay: The good: Location - the hotel is in an excellent location being just across the road from the main beach at Cefalu and less than a 10 minute walk from the old town where there are lots of restaurants and shops to wander around. The best restaurants we found were La Brace and Le Chat Noir. There is a very good supermarket (Deco) around a 5 minute walk from the hotel which stays open until 10pm. Also, the train station at Cefalu has trains direct to Palermo in under an hour should you wish to visit the capital. Cleanliness - the rooms and all areas of the hotel are super clean. Towels are changed daily. Kitchenette - well equipped with everything you'd need if you wanted to cook. Staff - without exception, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool - the hotel has a small swimming pool with sun loungers. The pool is rather shallow but fine if you have young children. The not-so-good: Breakfast - the hotel serves a continental-style breakfast, so no hot food at all. We found the choice to be rather limited. I think the hotel should offer a wider selection of cold meats and cheeses than they currently do. Sun loungers on beach - the hotel does not have its own private area of the beach and therefore the sun loungers come at a charge. For us (3 people) this came to 35 euros per day (and more expensive at the weekend). So if you are staying for a week or more, this can add up to quite a significant amount. The hotel does loan parasols free of charge though if you don't mind laying out a towel on the sand. Beach hawkers - there seems to be a large number of people walking up and down the beach trying to sell you stuff all day long. Gets rather tiresome. Check-out - the time for checking out of the hotel on your last day is 10.30am. However, if you are not leaving for the airport until later in the day the only facility the hotel can offer you to have a shower before you leave is the outside shower by the side of the pool and then to get changed in the toilet cubicle near reception. Not very satisfactory!
Alberi Del Paradiso

My wife and I traveled for one week in Sicily. We stayed 4 nights at this resort and we enjoyed it immensely. It started with the check in process by Angela. She was wonderful describing all the benefits of the resort. She then smiled and said we had been upgraded to room 407. This was fantastic because this particular room was a suite with two different balconies, one facing the sea and one facing the gardens and pool. The entire ground are superbly maintained and clean. The rooms spotless, which is very important to my wife and I. The restaurant and bar staff provided great service with a smile, always willing to provide directions or recommendations. The food itself, while good was not great. Breakfast was good and a great way to start our site seeing. Be prepared to take a ten minute walk down into town. The walk back up to the resort can be challenging, but taxi's are plentiful and only 15 Euro. The resort itself is very laid back. It provided a quite get away that we were looking for. We will be back, and we highly recommend this resort.

Victoria Palace Cefalù

This Victoria Place room in Cefal has no surprises, but the location is very good, right by the sea, you can sit in the open-air bar area outside the gate to watch the sunset, especially the view of the rooftop breakfast room is worth mark... In addition, the hotel’s underground The entrance to the car park is on Via Pintorno on the back of the hotel. It is not possible to get around from the front of the hotel.

We spent three nights here with the wonderful Rosa. The room was very comfortable and well laid out with direct entry into the garden if we wanted to use it. Excellent air conditioning, very comfortable bed, good linens and well laid out bathroom. Top notch housekeeping - everything was immaculate. As others have mentioned, the breakfasts that Rosa prepares are sublime. The most wonderful selection of homemade baked goods, fresh fruits, pastries, the best ricotta I have ever tasted (from nearby Castelbuono, I believe), salami, ham and other cheeses - and perfect cafe espresso, cappuccino, etc. All of this is served in a lovely breakfast room overlooking the garden. Rosa is also a font of useful information regarding restaurants, sights and basically anything you might need. We would love to return.
