Villa d'Este

Villa d'Este

📍 Via Regina, 40, Cernobbio
★★★★★ 9.1 (41 reviews)

"Villa d'Este is an extremely luxurious hotel. They own the famous Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, a fantastic experience where classic automotive history meets the latest supercars, making it a must-see event for every car enthusiast. Walking into the Grand Hotel grounds in May, you immediately feel part of the action; watching the final preparations, meeting the owners as they wipe down the bodywork, and hearing the raw sound of combustion engines warming up makes you appreciate the dedication behind each machine. The event perfectly mixes the past and the future, displaying legendary vintage models right next to the newest, jaw-dropping hypercars and concept designs. Seeing these incredible machines parked on the lawns along Lake Como in the spring weather creates a welcoming and shared experience, making it feel less like a formal exhibition and more like a great weekend spent with people who truly live for cars."

Hotel Ristorante San Giuseppe

Hotel Ristorante San Giuseppe

📍 Via Cinque Giornate, 31, Cernobbio
★★★ 9.1 (50 reviews)

"A cozy hotel with a beautiful lobby, located within walking distance of Villa d’Este. The rooms are clean. The breakfast menu in the lobby is a bit overpriced. It's better to step outside, turn right, and walk to a delicious little deli — a great place for breakfast."

Cernobbio Residence

Cernobbio Residence

📍 Via A. Volta 21, Cernobbio
★★★ 8.3 (4 reviews)

"We had some difficulty finding the right road because the residence is in the same building as the Terzo Crotto Hotel Restaurant and the external signs are not very clear. However, the building is located in a beautiful park and you can park inside it for 10 euros. The studio is large, the kitchenette area is fully furnished, the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom also has a washing machine and the shower structure was very clean. We did not use the breakfast (buffet 10 euros per person served in the adjacent restaurant). The location is really convenient for reaching the lakeside and the center of Cernobbio. I will gladly return."

I Portici - Cernobbio

I Portici - Cernobbio

📍 Via Cinque Giornate, 25, Cernobbio
★★★ 8.3 (2 reviews)

"The hotel is very comfortable and the service is perfect. The good litter and it's clean. The apartment is quite small for 4 rooms. The GRACE black point is bad breakfast: all products are from Lidl or aldi, really disappointing"

Villa Almana

Villa Almana

📍 Via Colonna, 12, Cernobbio
★★★★ 9.5 (21 reviews)

"I found this hotel on Instagram and honestly, it's a fantastic find. The location is amazing, perfect, and the view is breathtaking. The manager is very friendly. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Absolutely nothing to complain about, it's flawless, and we'll definitely be back! ☺️"

"Amazing views. It is quite high and it’s a steep walk so unless you are happy walking over a km at incline, perhaps look for another spot."

"The hotel matches the description. Good location near the waterfront promenade with parking (fee required). Parking spaces in the area are rather difficult to find."

Villa d'Este ★★★★★
"This hotel is rightly a member of Leading Hotels of the World. The building is well maintained and it has an idyllic position on Lake Como. We stayed here largely because of its mention in the Michelin Green Guide to Italy. Staff were very helpful when we discovered that we should have reserved a table at the Grill and Platano restaurants on arrival if not well before. On the downside, we felt that the restaurant availability issue should have been highlighted earlier. Dining at the hotel is an integral part of the experience as it is a resort style hotel. I appreciate the reason for the jacket requirement at the Veranda but we travel light (hand carry only on airlines) and I wasn't going to bring a jacket half the way round the world to dine in an ambient temperature of 36˚C as it was when we were there. The one dining "experience" that was freely available was the "Sapori di Mare" meal, which was good but offered far too much food. One should finish a good meal feeling satisfied but we felt bloated. The gardens are well maintained up to a point. Some of the space is now taken up by tennis courts and I was a bit disappointed by the state of the "hiking"/jogging paths. These are definitely worth exploring and give splendid views on to the lake, villa and grounds but were covered by fallen leaves (in June) and we found one of the jogging direction signs lying on the ground at a path junction. With all the staff around, perhaps someone could be spared to sweep away the leaves and maintain the signage? Better signage of the "hiking" trails would definitely add value to this part of the experience."

Villa Almana ★★★★
"Beautiful early 1970’s era villa restored beyond its original aspirations. Anastasia and her husband have thoughtfully and beautifully renovated every aspect of the Villa. It has some of the most stunning views atop Cernobbio over-looking Lake Como. It has 6 comfortable, clean and spacious rooms and one full two-bedroom, two bathroom penthouse. At least 3 of the rooms have incredible lake views. It has a lovely breakfast patio and stunning infiniti pool; both overlooking the lake. The breakfast buffet is full and delicious but if that’s not enough they also have à la carte add-ons like pancakes, avotoast, and omelettes at very reasonable prices. Once breakfast is over at 10am, the buffet morphs into a complimentary snack and coffee bar. Cold drinks (from Cold Coronas to Champagne) all in a vintage common fridge are on an honor system of reasonable prices. Even their free parking lot is lovely missing only an EV charger which would be nice for day trips to Milan which has a 7.50€ congestion charge for non-EV’s. Then again you could just skip the hustle and bustle and HEAT of Milan and stay cool by the pool or on the Lake! Grazie mille bella Anastasia and team!"
