Despite this hotel being next to the M6, it was far enough away that you could not hear the traffic coming from the motorway. Sadly, the only way to reach this hotel was from the northbound carriageway. However, our family room we booked was surprisingly spacious. From what I hear, this was a standard family room where the term "family room" denotes a room that can accommodate up to 4 persons (for us, 2 adults and 2 children) and is a room type across most Travelodges, and yet some hotels offer a Super Room that should be larger than a standard Double or Twin room, but our family room was larger than a Super Room. As with most Travelodge hotels, you can call ahead and request a particular room layout if available, but if not your room layout comes to the luck of the draw. We didn't call ahead but was pleased with the size of the family room we were allocated. The hotel was next to a small shopping mall offering some fast food restaurants and a handful of shops, so for any true shopping experience it's best to head to nearby Stafford itself, but keep in mind you'll need to head northbound first and turn around at the next junction. We picked this hotel due to a business event we were attending in Telford, though TL Stafford M6 was the closest hotel that provided an employee discount for TL staff, which I am. The staff member that checked us in, Jac, was welcoming and friendly, having a nice chat with her regarding our stay. We would have preferred a TL hotel closer to Telford, but if we were to visit Telford again and this was the only hotel closest that offered an employee discount, we would happily pick this hotel again. For non-staff booking this hotel, it is pleasantly far enough away from the M6 that you do not hear the traffic from the motorway. Just keep in mind local shopping is basic with it being essentially a service station rest-stop. You'll need to travel to Stafford at the very least if you're looking for a shopping day out.
