Travelodge Chelmsford

Located on a roundabout so very noisy. No aircon and it is a really hot hotel, so hot they don’t bother supplying duvets. Breakfast was v poor, rehydrated mushrooms, cheap sausages, coffee machine was broken, the juice dispenser was filled with water….. Not impressed, please don’t waste your money staying here.

Cheap and nasty unfortunately. Just about palettable for one night but unless you are desperate, go elsewhere. The room was pretty dirty and had stains etc. Not good enough

We stayed at travelodge chelmsford as my son was due to have a pony race at the local course on 27.5.26 Just to let the lovely staff we spoke to - he won!!!! Hotel was lovely & clean and staff were all happy and friendly.

I've been staying here for several weeks while teaching locally. The building and rooms are clean and welcoming. The local amenities are fantastic and all within walking distance. What stands out the most is the staff. They're all a credit to the company. Special mention must go to Debbie who helped me out of a bind when there was an issue with a continued stay. She was patient and supportive while the college made the late booking, saving my belongings from being thrown out of the room. After a bad smell broke out from the bathroom, another member of staff responded to my request for a room change within minutes. I can't fault the service. Top notch.

Awful location. Right on top of main roundabout joining motorway. This wouldn't be an issue if the double glazing was up to standard. Staff spent majority of time in car park. No one present when arrived for check in, check out or breakfast even though there is a sign that says wait to be seated. Huge cobweb above curtains so can only guess when room was last properly cleaned. Unhygienic plastic shower curtain which didn't reach the shower tray so whole bathroom floor soaked after shower. Only positive was the breakfast options, unfortunately let down by kitchen staff completely ignoring dirty plates & cups left on tables. If I ever revisit Chelmsford definitely will not be returning here.

stayed here Monday 25th when I went to reception I saw Jayne what a lovely lady I love seeing her when I'm there it brightens up my day! just a cheery lady who makes you feel at ease! I was in room 303 had an early check in took minutes to get my key and then off to the room! spotless and everything You need! went back to the bar and had drinks was there most of the day and night! no point in going anywhere else as it's a nice place to be! chatted to dawn who's also lovely!! it's a 2 star hotel but is 5 stars with the service and helpfulness of them all! I had a lovely stay and can't wait to be back! I appreciate you for looking after me it actually means a lot! well done all love Craig x

Jayne and grace have been amazing !!! They are superstars. They made our weekend one to remember! I would love to come back one day to do see there happy faces again !

Myself, my lovely wife and our 2 dogs checked in at Travelodge Chelmsford on Sunday 17th May 2026, upon arrival we was greeted by such a lovely down to earth extremely friendly manager called Jayne, Dawn, Debbie, Sophie and all the rest of the staff are absolutely lovely, when we stay here it is such a lovely friendly atmosphere, food is great, the fact Travelodge is dog friendly is plus for me, we come to Travelodge time after time as it is a excellent Hotel to stay at 😊
