Arriving fairly late at night and despite following my satnav, I found the lack of lighting approaching the car park a bit off putting, especially as I was to be charged £5 for the pleasure. You think at that price, some form of adequate lighting woiuld be provided as on arrival and leaving the next morning, there was hardly a full parking area. Whilst the reception area was unmanned, within a few seconds we were being attended to and our booking in was completed. The room was the high standard of those I have come to expect from the Chain, spotlessly clean and throughout the corridors, there was an amazing perfume - wonder if I could get a bottle of whaterver it is. Heading to the bar/restaurant area for a meal, we found the same guy acting as barman, waiter and for all we knew, perhaps chef. Not sure what role he did best but if all Premier Inn staff were like him, the company would have no HR issues. He was awesome. A great ambassador for the hotel IMHO. For our meal, I had the Beef and Ale Pie, a nice size pie with tenderstem, peas and chips complete with a very tasty gravy whilst my wife had the chicken katsu Curry which she was delighted with. Add a couple of beers and a cider, the price of £23 per head, whilst a bit more expensive, wasn't too bad as the alternative local food outlets were MacD & KFC . The Booking out was simple but again, the payment for parking was extremely annoying.
