The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu

The Ritz-Carlton is absolutely amazing and incredibly supportive! We definitively booked an executive room, and traveling with a child couldn't have been more comfortable. The service was impeccable, and the cleanliness was outstanding. With five meals a day at the lounge, it was super convenient for us and the little one – there was always something to eat whenever we were hungry. They even packed some food for us when we were in a rush at checkout, which was incredibly thoughtful! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The service was proactive, and everyone was extremely professional! The breakfast was absolutely perfect 💯, really making up for the hotel's shortcomings in other areas. It's an older hotel, an established brand, so I guess the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is a stark reminder to anyone hoping for a budget-friendly luxury stay. Being an older property, the decor and design are definitely dated and outmoded. The fact that the lobby is on the 25th floor already tells you the hotel's overall scale won't offer many surprises. The lobby and bar are on the same floor, which naturally lends a quieter atmosphere. The opulent decor feels out of step with current mainstream styles, creating a rather odd vibe. The room was standard for a five-star, with all the expected amenities. You could still see the signature Ritz royal flair, but the signs of age and the worn-out feel prevented me from truly appreciating the brand's concept. As for the pool and gym… let's just say I won't be commenting on them. The real highlight was breakfast: incredibly rich, professional, enticing, and thoughtfully prepared. All in all, for around 800 RMB a night at the Ritz, this is pretty much what you get. It's unrealistic to expect a 2000 RMB experience at that price point. However, it seems many five-star hotels across Chengdu suffer from similar issues of being old and dated, so I don't blame the hotel itself too much.

I stayed in a north-facing suite on the 41st floor. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. Although there were rumors about a certain type of flooring, my overall experience was quite good. The facilities are a bit dated, but the service was impeccable. The only minor issue was the hotel's signature scent, which I found a bit stuffy. After I left a note, the cleaning staff even folded a towel into a cute rabbit for me. The package included an afternoon tea cake, and I got to choose from a few options. The one I picked was delicious, with a nice balance of sweet and tart without being cloying. The cocktails at Flair bar were decent, and the service there was excellent.

This Ritz-Carlton absolutely delivers exceptional service, from the welcoming staff to efficient check-in, room service, and the lounge service – all were incredibly warm and efficient. The greeter on the ground floor, noticing I was looking for my takeaway, proactively pointed me to the delivery locker. Room service was always incredibly fast, delivering items within minutes. Additionally, the breakfast is worth a special mention. The all-day dining restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast items; I particularly enjoyed the pan-fried salmon and the small portion of cold noodles. It seems the quality might be even better on weekends than weekdays. The lounge breakfast allows for à la carte ordering, and on my second morning, the Eggs Benedict came with an incredibly generous amount of salmon – probably the most salmon I've ever had with Eggs Benedict at any hotel. The lounge offers two freshly-made hot dishes and four hot dishes for lunch and dinner, but I'd suggest improving the flavor of the hot dishes as they were a bit bland. As for the facilities, they are a bit dated. The hot water in our room's sink was very slow to come out, and the stopper in the left sink was broken. Otherwise, there were no issues. All the mirrors in the shower area have a heating function, so they don't fog up, which shows great attention to detail.

The hotel is near Taikoo Li, but this R&F property doesn't feel that great. The surrounding residential area can be a bit noisy. However, the view from up high is excellent. Check-in took a little longer than expected, but the staff handled it very well and there were no negative emotions. The service staff during my stay were also very good, and breakfast was fantastic. The room was cleaned very thoroughly. When I called the service center, the staff were always very polite and even addressed me by name directly. Overall, it's still a very good place.

MeriaPan, our beautiful butler, followed up on our stay experience and needs throughout our visit. I'm back in Chengdu, and once again, it was a night pampered by a lovely lady. Returning late, the Ritz-Carlton always delivers unexpected delights. Five stars for the amenities, and five stars for the warm, sparkling human touch.

I simply have to give it a glowing review! The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. The guest room design perfectly blends oriental charm with modern luxury, and it's spacious and bright 💝. What I want to praise the most is the efficiency and professionalism of the service! Yesterday, after checking in, I needed to switch rooms at the last minute. After speaking with the front desk, the staff responded incredibly quickly, without any hesitation or delay. The entire process was smooth and efficient; they helped us get everything sorted and the room changed within minutes. They maintained a smiling, professional, and thoughtful demeanor throughout, and it didn't disrupt my plans at all. This kind of efficient and considerate handling really made a huge impression on me.

This is my umpteenth stay at the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu, and the standards are consistently excellent. During check-in, a friendly young man named Luca brought me some herbal tea. After a brief chat, he later delivered a thoughtful, handwritten welcome card to my room before dinner. Of all the five-star and ultra-five-star hotels I've stayed at in Chengdu, the Ritz-Carlton's Executive Lounge offers the most attentive service. From breakfast at 6:30 AM right through to evening desserts at 10 PM, they continuously provide a wonderful array of thoughtful services. I've included some photos of the breakfast and dinner spreads – they're incredibly rich and varied. Plus, for both lunch and dinner, they offer two freshly prepared dishes, like duck breast and pasta, made to order. Every staff member I encountered in the Executive Lounge was exceptionally warm, attentive, proactive, and anticipated my needs. Of course, breakfast is also available at the main restaurant in the lobby on the 25th floor. The variety there is truly astounding; just the noodle bar alone offers six different options (as shown in the pictures). I ate so much that morning, I didn't want to leave. All in all, this is the best hotel experience I've had in Chengdu. Honestly, the price isn't even that high, making it excellent value for money. I will definitely choose to stay here again.
