Jinlu Hotel of Chengjiang

The food at the hotel was delicious. Every day they served my favorite rice porridge, which was a huge bonus for someone like me traveling alone and wanting to eat healthily. I didn't have high expectations based on the hotel's reviews, but it exceeded them. The front desk service was very thoughtful; they upgraded my room and helped me with my laundry. The hotel's location is excellent, right by the water, and just a short walk to a small mountain with a serene temple. I also heard that a beautiful cafe on the second floor of the hotel is opening in a couple of days. I met some elderly couples during dinner who come to this hotel every year for a wellness retreat. It's an incredibly good value for money. The only downside was the terrible karaoke singing on the beach in front of the hotel during dinner, but that's not the hotel's fault. I hope the relevant authorities can address it.

Close to the lake, the room offers a 180-degree lake view, which is absolutely stunning! The front desk staff provided excellent and timely reminders, great service!

Overall, the hotel's design, decor, and management feel like something out of an old county guesthouse, and the breakfast is pretty average. BUT, the location is truly fantastic! This alone makes you overlook all the inconveniences. The lake is right downstairs, major attractions are on either side, and dining is super convenient. So, I'm giving it five stars! 👍

If the system allowed, I'd give it a 0. Zero service, zero facilities, zero ambiance. I would never have stayed here if I hadn't arrived in the middle of the night and needed to go hiking the next day.

The hotel faces the large lake directly, and both the scenery and the neighborhood are beautiful. It was a fantastic trip.

Checking in at the front desk was a hassle, especially with kids. They insisted on seeing IDs, and just giving them the ID number wasn't enough. I've traveled all over China, and even in border cities like Ruili, it's never been this complicated (at most, they'd take a photo if you didn't have ID). The front desk staff kept repeating, "We're a scenic area, we're a scenic area," as if that explained everything! I've been to much larger scenic areas than this, and none of them were this much trouble.

The hotel environment is lovely, right next to Fuxian Lake. You can enjoy the lake view from your room. The cleanliness is good, but the facilities are just average.
