A jovial host attended even my early arrival at the quiet property to try arranging a room earlier to make it smoothly. Thanks to him, my trip was immaculate at first time in India also gave rise to an impression of the happiness. Outstanding service hu***ly!

They turned me away at 1am to sleep on the streets having just flown in. This all despite having confirmation of my booking via ***********. The host ignored my messages and phone calls as well. Do not even think about staying here. When I eventually ***aged to get hold of someone they couldn’t care less that I had nowhere to stay and did not try to resolve the issue. ‘We have no beds,’ they said. Rubbish. Just charlatans trying to con people out of money.

No fixed plans on this visit to Chennai, found this place online I must say, I loved this place. 1st night and we had barbecue. Meeting new friends is the key to Solo travel. Definitely choosing this place for my stay again in Chennai. Very safe and conveniently located from public transport modes. Good budgeted options to have food.

I stayed in Hostel Gandhi for 5 days in Feb 2022, it was only Rs 450 a night so a good deal! There are two rooms for gents and one for ladies. I was alone in the ladies room (three bunkbeds, housing 6 people) for 3 days and on the other two days, just had one roommate. The reception guy was soft-spoken, kind and responsive. The room was comfortable and AC was working. Water and electricity 24/7. Kitchen with everything needed to cook. Several friendly cats around. Space on the roof to hang out clothes washing. There were cobwebs in the room so it could use a thorough cleaning, ditto the kitchen. But all in all, a comfortable stay.
