Brookside Hotel & Restaurant

A lovel hotel only a short walk from the city centre. Staff are super welcoming and can't do enough to look after their guests. We booked a small double room for 2 nights and were very impressed for the price we paid. £156. The room was small as stated but was clean and adequate. In the evening we chose to sit on the comfortable sofas in the reception area as there was no seating in our room. There is also a nice bar for evening drinks. Breakfast was excellent. A very good buffet table with cereals, yoghurt and fruit. Cooked breakfast was to order with plenty of choice. I thought the scrambled eggs were too dry but everything else was perfect. Free parking in the hotel carpark is also a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

We got this on a deal so it was reduced slightly from £246 to £232.70 (two people in separate rooms for three nights), but even the full price would have been great value. Spacious, really comfortable beds, great range of TV channels, great location. Pretty much everything you could ask for. The only minor issue is that my mother's room got too warm at night. But in fairness, a fan was provided and she used this to help cool it down before going to bed.
Chester Station Hotel

A cost-effective hotel, a long time, older equipment, the need for skills to close the window. The heating is very good and very comfortable. The bed is big enough to let me roll and sleep. Breakfast is a typical English breakfast, although it is not comparable to the domestic, it is very rich in the UK. The only problem is the deposited food, deposited on Friday, we said to take it on Sunday night (more than two days), they threw it... a big bag of delicious... I don’t know what to follow
Rowton Poplars Hotel

Lovely hotel. Perfect location for Chester, just outside in the country. Spotlessly clean with very friendly staff that could not do enough for you. Biker friendly, and a nice car park out of view of the main road. Meals were excellent and a lovely beer garden. There's a petrol station within 100 meters for refilling the bikes with a shop attached, so perfect. Will be using again.
Chester House Guest House

We stayed here so we were local for me to run the Chester Marathon. On arrival we were advised that breakfast would be 8-10 but ”lots of guests have said that won't be early enough”. We were surprised that they hadn't adjusted their service times to account for this annual event, even more so when they didn't offer a ”grab and go” breakfast option. The surprise became annoyance when most of the pastries at breakfast were pre-packaged. When we did have breakfast on the second morning, we had to wait 15mins until we could be seated before being immediately asked how I wanted my egg. Imagine our surprise when we're halfway through our fruit and yoghurt to be presented with a freshly fried egg! So we had our cooked breakfast first, with what looked like yesterday's bacon and watery beans. We skipped the pastries as I doubt they would have been any better than something from the Co-op. Perhaps offer a grab-and-go option and request expected timings for breakfast in future? The room was comfortable, if a little compact, and it was only a 30min walk into town, so that's not so bad.
Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa

The staff were excellent, friendly and provided perfect service. Breakfast was good, options of cereal, full cooked and toast. The hotel is just outside of Chester but only 5 mins drive by car. The room was warm and comfortable.
