The room was tiny—there wasn't even a desk. The slippers were paper-thin and fell apart after wearing them for just a bit. I've never seen a hotel be so stingy. During the National Day holiday, it cost over 500 a night without breakfast included. Absolutely not worth it.

March Hotel & Suite Riverside is a small and exquisite boutique hotel, generally refined and quiet. However, the room's hardware facilities are quite ordinary, only meeting the standards of a two- or three-star hotel in China, and most room types don't even have a desk! The River View Suite should be much better. The public area facilities, on the other hand, are excellent. The pool and restaurant are great, and the service is very attentive. Also, perhaps due to the excellent ecology, there was even a gecko in the room…

We booked a room with a balcony. We also had a 2 sqm view of a moldy wall, and it smelled a bit musty when entering the room. The room was okay, with hardly any storage space. Internet and water pressure were good, though cold water occasionally came out during showering. Breakfast was okay; hot dishes could be ordered from the menu, and the rest was a small buffet. The pool looked better in the pictures on Trip than in reality.

The hotel is super convenient for getting to all the markets and attractions. It's just a few minutes' drive to Chang Khlan Night Bazaar and Warorot Market. The hotel is by the river, and the river view rooms have a large, very comfortable balcony. The environment is also incredibly peaceful, without the noise of the city. I highly recommend it for those who love quiet. The hotel offers dining, and right next to it are a coffee shop and a noodle shop. The lady at the front desk speaks excellent Chinese, so there were absolutely no communication barriers. When she encountered new Chinese words, she would even enthusiastically ask us to clarify and learn them. All the other front desk staff, both male and female, were very enthusiastic and often helped us with various issues. I'm marking this hotel down; I'll definitely stay here again next time! 😍

The overall stay was excellent. The hotel environment is clean and elegant, and the public areas are very well maintained. The room was tidy and comfortable, with complete facilities, and the bedding was very relaxing to sleep on. The staff were friendly and responsive to service requests. The location is convenient for getting around, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The overall value for money is high, making for a comfortable and pleasant stay. It's suitable for both travel and leisure, and I would choose to stay here again next time and recommend it to others.

The hotel's location isn't very convenient; it's a 7-8 minute walk to 7-11. For breakfast, you can order Western options like French Toast or noodle soup with fish, accompanied by a buffet of bread, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and salad. It's all included in the breakfast, which is very nice! The service is also very good!

The room is very nice and you will smell a nice fragrance once entering. The room is spacious. The bathroom is divided into 2 sections.

I found this hotel on Google Maps, and it had a high rating. The price on *********** and Agoda was quite expensive, over 500 RMB per night. I figured it was close to the Mumbai market and Warorot, and after comparing, I found Ctrip was cheaper at 420 RMB for a queen room. There's a house pattern on the headboard, which feels a bit conspiratorial. I think they give Ctrip users inferior rooms. They don't seem to care about bad reviews on Ctrip, but they're very concerned about Google Maps reviews, with the manager responding to every single one. They even have a Chinese-speaking staff member to assist. The room rates are quite high, and there's no real service. The pool closes at 7 PM, which is ridiculous, isn't it? They have so many rules – no durian or jackfruit, which I understand, but you can't even bring in mangosteens, with a fine of 1000 RMB. Losing your room key costs 100 RMB. My room looked out onto a wall, which is completely different from the photos. It seems all Chinese guests who book through Ctrip get rooms facing a wall. For Chiang Mai, this price isn't low at all. The bathroom trash can is tiny, and there's another one in the room, but ridiculously, neither had a trash bag. The front desk said that's just how it is – so low-class. As soon as I entered, there was a strange smell, not foul, but overwhelming, making me dizzy. When I took a shower at night, the drain was clogged, and the water quickly reached my ankles. I called the front desk, and the staff member knew about it, absolutely knew! He offered no room change and no apology, saying all their rooms are like that, and there's a filter inside that just needs to be removed. I told him I wanted to check out. I've stayed in four hotels in Chiang Mai, and the previous ones were all great. The staff member coldly told me to discuss it with the platform. Business is very slow, with hardly any guests. I paid 420 RMB for the room, and if you want breakfast, it's an additional 80 RMB per person. Considering prices in Chiang Mai, isn't that a rip-off? It's comical that the restaurant is also empty, and the balcony is covered in dust. What's even funnier is that the pool closes at 7 PM, but *********** states it closes at 8:30 PM. The hotel has double standards, messing with us. For a resort, a 7 PM pool closing time is absurd for relaxation. They also claimed the poolside bar was open until 10:30 PM. I deeply regret booking this hotel. The location isn't convenient either; you have to cross a river, and there are no good food options nearby. You have to cross the road and walk a bit. Try to book through other websites. I'm going to leave a bad English review on Google Maps; I won't just take this mistreatment.

I booked a Premium Garden View Balcony room at March Hotel & Suite Riverside, but the front desk upgraded me to a Deluxe Garden View room. I was quite disappointed when I opened the door – the large balcony became a small one, with just two dining chairs next to it. The shower water pressure was unstable, constantly switching between hot and cold. There wasn't enough space next to the sink for toiletries, and only one hook outside the shower door with a single rail inside, making it easy to get clothes wet while showering. There were no USB plugs, and the worst part was the foul smell from the toilet drain. Even covering the drain with a trash can lid and closing the toilet seat couldn't stop the odor from permeating the room. The toilet bowl was clogged, and the air conditioner vent blew directly onto the bed. The facilities felt old and worn, leading me to believe it's a renovated hotel. When I inquired at the front desk, they showed me the Premium room I had originally booked, which was even worse! It was the last room on the ground floor, and although it had a large balcony, opening the door revealed swarms of insects and mosquitoes, and it faced a wall less than a meter away. The 'garden view' consisted of a few blades of grass, the area was dirty, there was no view at all, and it felt very cramped. Is this really a premium garden view room? It's hard to believe this hotel opened in 2024. I'm extremely disappointed. There aren't many shops nearby, so you need a taxi to go anywhere. The value for money is poor, and I feel tricked by the photos. I highly do not recommend this hotel. On the positive side, the staff's service attitude was excellent – always smiling, friendly, and polite. Breakfast was continental, with items available from a specific menu, cooked to order, and very tasty. However, because there were so few guests (I only saw guests from 3-4 rooms), they didn't offer a full buffet, just simple food options. The pool was very clean, but no one was swimming. All the positive reviews must be due to the excellent staff service, not the hotel's environment or comfort.

The riverside suite offers an amazing view, with a balcony directly overlooking the river. The room itself is clean and tidy, and all the essential amenities are well-equipped. The hotel pool area is very pleasant, and the staff are incredibly thoughtful and attentive, responding to requests very promptly. The location is super convenient for getting around, making it easy to visit all the major attractions in the Old City. The ambiance of the stay was fantastic, and it offers excellent value for money. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Chiang Mai.

A hotel full of artistic charm, clean, tidy, and comfortable~

The positive review is for the lovely and warm front desk ladies, who were so enthusiastic, thoughtful, and patient, making my mom very happy. One star is deducted because the hot water in the hotel shower was extremely unstable. I basically had to turn it off every minute because it would get either scalding hot or freezing cold, and couldn't maintain a normal warm temperature for more than a minute. Maintenance couldn't fix it, so it's probably an issue with the water supply system.
