Definitely one of the great jewels in the crown of Sicilian hospitality. The eighteenth-century estate is lovingly managed by the Rosso family, and provides an effortlessly graceful, serene and welcoming setting for unforgettable family breaks. The historic property has been very thoughtfully adapted into apartments for different tastes and needs. In our case, as our parents who are over 80 were travelling with us, the ground floor apartments were ideal. The villa is very well located as a base to explore southeast Sicily, from Caltagirone to Ragusa, Modica and around. Or you can laze by the pool, brush up your tennis, or try the table tennis. The heart of the villa is the kitchen, where Anna turns out memorable breakfasts which are served on the terrace, and for those who book half board, even more memorable dinners. Home-made produce and ingredients from the estate itself or from the rich agricultural land that surrounds it are the rule of the day.

An exquisite stay at this charming villa with our 3 children. Great facilities a clean pool, comfortable beds, incredible food from Anna and the most beautiful surroundings this was a stay we will never forget and will hopefully be back soon.

What a beautiful holiday destination, Alfredo and his family have built. They welcomed us so friendly into their home, shared insights and food with us. Amazing experience and such a great place to calm down and just be. Anna the chef makes a lovely breakfast ever day if you want and even dinner. Which was one of the best experiences ever. The most authentic food.

We stayed in the Casa della Mannira at Villa Zottopera for 1 week in August 2023 (family of 4, there was a double room and a twin room). The location and surroundings are fantastic, lovely pool, Anna is a charming host, great tennis court. We paid for breakfast most mornings and had 3 dinners, all of which were excellent and very good value. We enjoyed a tour of the olive oil production at the farm and I have honestly never tasted olive oil like it! The only complaint is that the air conditioning unit in the apartment is situated in the main bedroom, and while very effective at cooling that room, the rest of the apartment became quite warm. Also, the self-catering facilities are very basic (you are well advised to not try to cook for yourself and just book breakfast and dinner every day as these are so good!)

Anna really made this a special stay. She was warm and an excellent cook. We very much enjoyed her cooking class and her dinners. We also loved the two dogs on site. Unfortunately it was very cold when we visited, so we did not use the grounds. The bikes on offer could use maintenance.

The baglio and its premises are stunning. Anna has been great with us, she is a caring host and an absolutely amazing cook. For a good price you het a restaurantworthy 4-course meal of local produce and even a freshly cooked multi-course breakfast. We were looking forward to her food every night. Grazie Anna!
