Stayed here with friends for a short vacation, and we loved it! The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect — right across from Chiayi TRA Station and close to bus stops. Lots of shops and the Chiayi Art Museum are within walking distance, which made exploring really easy.
We also appreciated being able to store our luggage before check-in and after check-out. Definitely a convenient and pleasant place to stay — highly recommended

GGuest UserThe hotel design is colorful, and the location is knd of central, but it is a bit of a walk for the night market and Hinoki village.
While the shower was great with plenty of hot water, there is only a curtain to separate the shower and the toilet from the rest of the room, which make it an unpleasant experience.
And while understand not providing most of the single use items anymore, slippers would still be nice.
Breakfast was not so good. It was busy and the food run out and it took some time for them to bring more, and the options felt limited.

GGuest UserGood location, close to Wenhua Road Night Market. The staff provided good service. Although there are not many types of breakfast, there are both Chinese and Western styles, which are acceptable.
As for the hotel design... First of all, I was a little disappointed that the bathroom did not have a dry and wet separation. The shower head was too close to the door for hanging clothes and the towel rack, so it was easy to splash clothes and towels when taking a shower. It was a poor design. Second, the soundproofing was very poor. From 10pm on 4/23 to 2am on 4/24 (the hotel clearly had a notice asking people to keep their voices down after 10pm), the tenants of room 303 and their friends on the same floor had no sense of public morality. They ignored the noisy children and the adults did the same, making it hard for me to sleep well the whole night! The counter downstairs is only on duty until 21:30. Although there is a phone number for ”emergency”, I don't know whether I should call in this situation... All in all, there will definitely not be a next time.

GGuest UserChiayi is a quiet town on the edge of alishan mountains, as such there are not many major shops and eateries around. South Urban is a luxurious hotel standing in the middle of the quiet town. The popular food and night market are within 15min walking distance from the hotel (there is u-bike stand just opposite the hotel, but there were no bikes available when we headed out in the evening).
The hotel staff were generally friendly, but there are not many amenities available to guests. There were only hair dryer and bedroom slippers available. The hotel did provide two bottles of water, and there is a water dispenser at the lobby if guests need more water.
Other tourist attractions within 20-30 minutes walk around are prison, Hiroki village, railway park.

GGuest UserGreat location, many food options outside and shopping. Just around the corner from wenhua night market. The room was great, had 2 bathrooms and a spacious sitting area. The entryway is a bit narrow but only a problem if you have huge/many luggages. Laundry located in the basement, the only sceptical thing for me is the hotel elevator is not room-key locked (just curious to me).
Otheewise def recomend if you plan to stay in Chiayi :)

GGuest UserThe double room has two large beds. The room is very clean and the bathroom has no odor. The room is very soundproof. Breakfast includes Chiayi-style beef shabu-shabu soup, turkey rice, fried dough sticks and almond tea, etc. It feels that the business owner manages the business with care and hopes that guests can have a different Chiayi experience.

CChai YingOn the way back from Alishan and stay one night here. Kids love this hotel with free snacks at level 7. There also a toddlers room and boardgames room at B1. Breakfast is delicious come with many local specialties. Beef soup is good. Hotel also has supper offer at TWD 250 per pax. The food is good as well. I like the fish fillet.

GGuest UserThis is a comfortable and classic ********* style hotel! It’s super clean and the service is awesome! They have a mini bar downstairs with some cookies and sodas. The food is just okay but it has variety of them. We can make our own traditional local dish, and it is fun to cook our own noodles!
It’s sad that the season we arrived was too cold so the pool and the ceiling bar was closed :( But to us it’s still a perfect accommodations experience. It also close to several nice food! Definitely recommend:)

XXinyiThis is my fourth visit. It is a pet-friendly hotel. However, the pet room smelled very bad this time and I found that my pet had long hair. Since they had charged a pet cleaning fee of 550 yuan, they should pay more attention to cleaning. Pet snacks are provided, which is very thoughtful.
There is a bathtub with strong water flow and high-quality bathroom supplies.
The afternoon tea provided was delicious, but the breakfast taste was just average.

The room was very clean, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, a TOTO bidet, and Italian Allegrini shampoo and body wash. The room light switches were touch-sensitive.
Breakfast was buffet-style, featuring local chicken rice, noodles, bread, ********* porridge, side dishes, hot dishes, fruit, and a coffee machine, perfect for early risers. Overall, the stay was excellent!

DDelonXDFirst I was supposed to give 2 stars because when we arrive at hotel, they only accept cash in twd dollar as we thought already paid via online. So, it caused us to paid more compared to online as the exchange rate. We dunno why they wanted us paid first via online and then refund to us after the day check out. This will make the process too complicated. This hotel was so traditional even no online payment & maybe doesn't have debit card too?
Honestly, the hotel was really nice looking & clean as the pic shown. The toilet look good but the bathroom door was so so old and rushed cannot close. The bed was strangely & weirdly comfortable but it sounds of spring so so noisy when we moving around the bed. This must be changed because senior or someone not comfortable with hard bed should not booking this hotel!!! The aircon work well but at night it automatically closed down. Maybe save electricity or something as thought we didn't set anything??
This hotel provided buffet at morning (6.30 - 8.30am) such as toast, rice and porridge. It so nice since this hotel was budgeted compared to other which more expensive. However, we dunno why they set the time so earlier in the morning should be until 11 am or 12 pm. Who will wake up in that time?? Maybe people cannot sleep that time or something else. I 100 % sure that the foods will be leftover.
The service was well...ok nothing to comments. The overall still budgeted hotel & the location from train station was so near, the Wen Hua night market was so near about 800 meter.
We still NOT STRATIFICATION with this hotel !!!!
