The location near Chiayi train station is very convenient for staying before or after a trip to Alishan. The downside is that our room, the Chunqiu Buran Room (standard double), had a very, very strong musty smell as soon as we entered. Even with the bathroom door closed, the smell lingered, which made for a very poor experience. I wouldn't recommend staying in this particular room. There were also one or two small gnats on the bed occasionally, so pest control could be improved.

Our double room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom sometimes smelt bad, not because it was dirty but but because of the bad sewerage problem that most of us have come to understand plagues a lot of Asia. One of the highlights for me was a kitchen that was actually clean, had plates and cutlery as well as a useable stove. As someone who loves to cook in, this was a huge bonus. It's super conveniently located, only a short walk (2 minutes) to the Chiayi train station; the bus stop is right in front from where you can take a bus directly to Alishan. If you are doing a day trip, as we did, it makes it super convenient and easy. Perhaps a bit more attention to detail in as far as a taking dust off the TV and the furniture would be good. My only real complaint would be the rubber non-washable mat outside of the bathroom, which smelt of feet. For hygiene reasons a bath mat which could be washed after each guest would be far more hygienic. We placed the original rubber mat on the balcony outside and used a towel on the floor. Otherwise a pleasant stay. :)

The location is just within walking distance from Chiayi train station. The minus point is the bed will make noise whenever you turn.

Walking distance from Hotel to Jia Yi train station roundly 7min. Convention place and walking distance to night market roughly 13min. Nice place and quiet.

Staff is very friendly and common area is good. They don’t provide towel.

The hotel is close to the station and convenient for the main attractions. We forgot a package at the hotel, and the staff were incredibly kind to us; they even shipped it to the last hotel where we'll be staying during our trip to Taiwan! The staff member kept in constant contact with me to ensure everything went smoothly! It's always wonderful when people care about you and help you out! Thank you!

I wish we could have more time to spend in Chiayi so that we can stay longer in this hostel. My kids enjoyed the room and loved our stay in An Lan Jie. The family room is spacious, clean and has all the amenities we needed. Thank you An Lan Jie, hope we can come visit again next time.

The location was okay since it's a stride going to the train station. Their password-operated doors make it difficult for travelers to access the premise instead of a standard keycard which you can just tap and get in instantly. I just find it absurd and hassle.

I would stop here again, no complaints!

Good place! Uses codes on doors which is annoying if you don’t remember a lot of numbers. I was locked out when my phone battery died and couldn’t remember the many codes. Regardless good place! But maybe a bit expensive considering the small space and no towels etc
