Very comfortable hotel in a quiet location. We had a 2 night break. Arrived on a Sunday and it was very quiet, large car park. We ate in the restaurant, a good meal at a slightly premium price, but had very good service. Breakfast was extremely good and I got exactly what I requested. The hotel grounds are extensive, and I managed a nice walk despite being very cold. Lots of places one could sit outside in the summer.

We had a fabulous Sunday lunch today to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The food and its presentation were excellent, the waiting staff were attentive and professional - it was an all round great experience. We’re very lucky to have such a lovely restaurant locally - it may not be the cheapest but it offers value for money when compared to other more casual eateries.

To say i was disappointed with this hotel would be an understatement. My boyfriend and I are quite a young couple and wished to stay in a slightly upmarket hotel as a treat for our hard work around christmas time (we both work in hospitality). Upon arrival the receptionist we were met with was incredibly blunt and unwelcoming. This felt odd as prior to this we had seen her interact with a slightly older couple and she was charming and incredibly inviting. We had booked the Blenheim room and were looking forward to enjoying the room until we looked inside and realised we had been given a Russet room. I went back to reception to double check that we were in the right room or if we were mistaken and we were reassured that we were in a Blenheim room. Just to confirm this we looked online at the rooms the hotel had to offer and discovered that the room we had been placed in was the example picture used for the Russet room. On a more positive note, when i raised this issue with the male receptionist (i did not get his name unfortunately) he moved us to a different room and was very polite and understanding to our situation. The breakfast was incredibly underwhelming and arrived with a handful of cold beans and very hard sausages. The scrambled eggs were incredibly watery and had a horrible smokey smell that very quickly filled our room. Whilst the decor is absolutely gorgeous, the upkeep and cleanliness of the rooms is definitely varied. In the first room we were placed in, we found hair in the shower, a hole in the carpet covered by a bin, stains across the carpet and cobwebs. Usually these would be minor issues for a 2/3 star establishment but in a hotel where you are paying £140 per night i believe this is unacceptable. Whilst i understand human error does exist and mistakes are easily made, for a hotel that prides itself on providing good service and quality the experience we had was nothing of the sort. Personally, i don’t enjoy complaining or writing things like these but as a young couple who don’t particularly make a large sum of money between us this stay was a real let down. This is truly a shame as the location is gorgeous and the hotel definitely has potential to be incredible.

Thank you very much for making my Dad's 85th birthday just perfect. Both parents said the three course lunch was fabulous with very attentive staff. I booked online and rang the Crouchers with a payment to account. Thank you very much. Highly recommend x

Had a fabulous evening at Crouchers wonderful food at the Italian restaurant, just next door, then back to the hotel for a glass of wine before bed. Ethan, the host in the bar area, was excellent company and very well informed about wine, guiding us to a great choice. It’s unusual to be served so well in a hotel these days. He made us feel at ease and his hospitality was superb. Thanks Ethan and all at Crouchers.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Crouchers hotel. We had a very comfortable room, spotlessly clean with good storage and a comfy bed. The staff were friendly and made sure we had a great stay. It’s a great location for exploring Chichester and the surrounding area. There is huge car park. We also ate at the hotel restaurant. Delicious meal, some of the best mussels we have ever had. All in all, a great find and will definitely be going back if we are in the area.

The food was great but the manger Ethan was very rude and would not leave us alone whilst trying to eat are dinner but instead grabbed a chair and decided to sit with us and talk and be on his phone and we felt very uncomfortable and was very unprofessional plus the language used was shocking!!!!
