It’s been a while experiencing a holiday with The Serai, and as expected, it was a delightful journey to be embraced by this 700+ acres of property right in the midst of a coffee plantation in Chikmagalur. Right from the moment you step in to this wonderland, it never stops enthralling you — the misty breeze, the aroma of vegetations around, the comforting ambience of everything that you touch, see and feel. And of course, the food. The Malnad cuisine in The Serai, Chikmagalur is a religion on its own. The menus are handpicked with great craftsmanship and expertise in abandon. Chef Anil Kumar and Chef Sadik are crown jewels in this place. Chef Anil Kumar provided with personal touch and backstories of his professional journey with the culinary. His professionalism spoke via his friendly demeanour. It’s worth to mention the other members of the kitchen including Gurfan, Soumen, Abhishek among the others. The facility is brimming with activities — be it a guided walk in the plantation, the bird watching, bicycling, a ride in a buggy, the tennis court, the indoor games room that has everything stacked up, the huge infinity pool, the private jacuzzis — and the smile of rare flowers & trees mixed with the essence of pepper and coffee pods. Serai is everything that you need to unwind and reboot yourself; it’s THAT escape of yours that you deserve among the cacophony of life.
