It’s been a while experiencing a holiday with The Serai, and as expected, it was a delightful journey to be embraced by this 700+ acres of property right in the midst of a coffee plantation in Chikmagalur. Right from the moment you step in to this wonderland, it never stops enthralling you — the misty breeze, the aroma of vegetations around, the comforting ambience of everything that you touch, see and feel. And of course, the food. The Malnad cuisine in The Serai, Chikmagalur is a religion on its own. The menus are handpicked with great craftsmanship and expertise in abandon. Chef Anil Kumar and Chef Sadik are crown jewels in this place. Chef Anil Kumar provided with personal touch and backstories of his professional journey with the culinary. His professionalism spoke via his friendly demeanour. It’s worth to mention the other members of the kitchen including Gurfan, Soumen, Abhishek among the others. The facility is brimming with activities — be it a guided walk in the plantation, the bird watching, bicycling, a ride in a buggy, the tennis court, the indoor games room that has everything stacked up, the huge infinity pool, the private jacuzzis — and the smile of rare flowers & trees mixed with the essence of pepper and coffee pods. Serai is everything that you need to unwind and reboot yourself; it’s THAT escape of yours that you deserve among the cacophony of life.

The Serai resort at Chikmagalur is the perfect place if you are looking for calm, tranquility, aroma and oxygen. Our stay in a pool villa was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. Situated on a hill amidst coffee plantation, this resort makes us forget our busy city life. Special mention for the food service available here, recommended, prepared and served by chefs Mr. Anil Kumar, Mr. Abhishek, Mr. Sadik and Mr. Gufran. They have attended to our request for Jain meals very diligently and with utmost hospitality. Their knowledge of the preparation and combinations of cuisines is commendable. I highly recommend everyone seeking serenity, delectable food and coffee to visit this place.

Spl Thank You To The Respected Chef Anil Bakshi Ji and Chef Raju Ji. For Making All The Meals With Personal Care Adding Their Unique Touch To The Food . The Food Pre Order Also Taken According To Our choices. The Akki Roti, Ragi Roti Tomato Goju Bhidi Huli So Flavourful. Bit The Cherry on Cake was the Kashmiri Kava. Couldn't stop from hvng Second Cup . It was like Kashmiri was Present in Chikmagalur. The Chat Reminded Of Calcutta . The Service By Will Ford Ji & His Team was As A Mother For Her Childrens . We stayed in Serai chikmagalur for 3 nights in Sep 2025. This was our 2nd visit to Serai. Everything, right from the checkin was perfect ! The resort arranged early check-in, the room was pristine and well set. Calm atmosphere, soothing views, world class amneties, delicious food, great drinks , amazing hospitality - everthing was just top-notch. Serai never fails to surpass your expectations ! Mr. Soumen and Ms. Taichu was very helpful in the restaurant. They even remembered our preferences after day 1 and ensured everything was in place. Chef Raju helped in customizing the dishes as per our preference and the mixologist Praveen was superb. I have to thanks Mr.Wilfred and Mr.Allen for taking care of all our requests and making us feel special. In a nut shell, this was a very relaxing vacation - The best way to unwind !

I had the most wonderful stay at The Serai Chikmagalur – everything about this property reflects luxury, warmth, and perfection. From the moment we arrived, the team made sure every little detail was taken care of, ensuring a seamless and truly memorable experience. Special thanks to Mr. Prasun , the Culinary service team member for assisting us to select the best dishes available.
