Best Hotels in Chippendale, Australia

The services are not satisfying. When we arrived at the hotel, front desk told us that there was no double room available, and would change the room on the 2nd day. We agreed given it was quite late. So we packed our bags in the next morning and told the front desk we would get back in the noon. As discussed, we should have the new room ready when we were back. BUT, nobody prepared our new room when we were outside, and we ended up waiting for 2 hours. AFTER me reporting the issue to the manager, we have a temporary room for refreshment, instead of waiting in the lobby. Note that this option is NOT offered in the beginning. I’d say the whole process is very unprofessional.

The room is big enough, the facilities are very complete, washing machines and dryers are even available! There are also pots and pans, you can cook by yourself. Adequate parking space The room is cleaned once a week, and the supplies are replenished, which is too uncomfortable. Environmental photos are misleading to customers. The service staff is very good and there is no fault in the rules.

Parent-child tour, booked two rooms, one is kingsize ordinary room, one is two single loft ~ loft layer height is a bit awkward, the stairs are also narrow, not suitable for children. Kingsize is very good and looks very spacious. The industrial design style is very good~ it is a member of the design hotel. Downstairs is the food street, there are many net red restaurants, I heard that the nearby albert st also has a lot of food, but there is no time to unlock... next door is the famous ”grass house” central park mall, the whole building is covered by green plants, big bus A double-decker sightseeing bus will pass through here to introduce a section. There is Ding Taifeng in the grass building, and the domestic high-end dining is quite cheap here! 30 per person per foot (Ding Taifeng of the Circular Quay Gateway is more affordable... 20 per capita, fast food in the food court...) Shopping is also very convenient, woolworth supermarkets can go shopping, there is also a row in the tide brand store. For the parent-child tour, the disadvantage is that the pool is outdoors, connected to the bar, the night blue light and the cold water temperature are really not nice...

Stayed in room 77. Beds very comfortable and clean, bathroom was clean lovely hot shower, small balcony with double glass doors to keep traffic noise out. They work well. Situated a short walk to Redfern Station, abit longer to central. Will stay again, front desk very obliging.

Great location near Central Station and good service from the friendly and helpful staff. Room was relatively small, particularly the bathroom which was a little tight, but this is no problem for a short stay. A negative though was that there was just one curtain when there should have been two, and it barely covered the window which meant being woken too early from direct sunshine streaming into the room.

I was attending Australian Fashion Week and was looking for somewhere to stay that would be comfortable. I was not looking for student type accommodation Adina was the closest to Cariageworks and really surprised me. I have never had someone take my bags to my room in Australia! I offered a tip and they wouldn’t accept. The room was immaculate, I felt I was the first person to use it. I found the room very quiet even though it overlooked the pool. I mentioned that I don’t drink water out of the tap and when I returned there were three tins of still water on the kitchen table. I can’t rate Adina highly enough. Congratulations I will be back !

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂

The room was clean and the building nice. Cleaning staff are doing their job well. Issues.... Room cards had to be recalibrated as they were for the wrong room on arrival so very lucky we weren't checking in late and getting cards from lock box. Balcony door couldn't be locked and no key to make it secure, in case you have curious children. Microwave had to be lifted over to sit on stove top as the cord didn't reach power point. Toaster is so old that most of the labelling on the front is missing. Radio & cd broken. There's no house keeping but it's inferred that you may receive supplies if needed. At $400 a night I was expecting a little more perfection. It took over 48 hrs for someone to respond, which is unacceptable, and at the same time telling me the balcony door could be locked. Wrong response! My son and I over 3 days continually tried to lock it and it simply 'DIDN'T'! If a guest wanted to they could've accessed it from apartments on the same level. JUST SAYING! It's rather condescending to imply that we were wrong. Then instead of offering to compensate this trip offered a 30% reduced rate for my next stay. Not good enough and I would've have considered a next time if my issues weren't ignored for two days and only after I sent another email outlying my complete dissatisfaction. Reading previous disgruntled guests reviews I'm not certain who the Hotel Manager is as there's three different people responding and stating they're the HM. Had an amazing experience here during my stay. Staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean and comfortable, we had a window overlooking the park which was just perfect! Location was also a major plus - right in the city and walking distance from everything we wanted to do! Would absolutely return next time!

Send the child to the University of Sydney to study, the student apartment can only be checked in on the 11th, so the VULCAN hotel opposite the apartment was booked to facilitate luggage handling. We stayed for a total of 8 days and were generally satisfied. The location of the hotel is very good, very close to Broadway Shopping Center, it is very convenient to eat and shop. It is a ten-minute walk to the University of Sydney, the train station, Chinatown, and the Port of Love. We stayed in a standard room, so the room was small but clean, with a small refrigerator and delicious cookies on the bar every day. The bathroom is very small, but the water is very large, so you can take a shower after returning from the outside every day. And the shower room is well-blocked, so don't worry about the water flowing out. The front desk staff is beautiful, friendly and welcoming. We were very satisfied with our stay. Next time I go to Sydney, I will stay again.
