It's a coffee shop located in an old building. Upon check-in, I was given a small loft room; it was so small I could barely stand upright without being near the bed. It was also significantly different from the pictures shown on the booking page. When I requested a room change, the hotel said there were no rooms available. I later complained to Ctrip and received prompt feedback and compensation.

A fantastic 2 course Sunday lunch at the Red Lion. First class food and hosted by Ed (every pub should have one) and Michael - we could not have wished for better service. Many thanks as always gents. See you soon. Tracey and Nick

My wife and I stayed one night at the Red Lion in mid October 2025 and paid just over $200 CDN with no breakfast The positives are that the sheets and towels were clean but other than that we had a dreadful experience ... The room was tiny with not enough room to stand upright around the double bed. It was up two very steep flights of narrow stairs - we carried our own suitcases. There was no plug for the vanity basin and no soap in the dispenser. My wife and I like a cool room to sleep in but the radiator was full on and when I tried to turn it down the thermostat dial fell off. So we had to sleep with no duvet or covers The room was vastly overpriced in the first place and we had a very uncomfortable night.. A horrible experience and very far from what we expected.

This 16th century pub has it all! Clean, spacious rooms, popular British ales and delicious, reasonably priced food. We spent two nights here before walking the Cotswold way and the location was perfect, right in the center of town, yet cozy and quiet. Our room was quaint, and historic but had all the modern conveniences, and the bathroom was the size of a dance hall! The staff were warm and friendly. From check-in to the final good bye, they couldn’t do enough for us!

Very disappointed, it’s a lovely building but not very well looked after. We were given a room in the roof, so quite cramped not a bit like the photos of the rooms on the website! And there were two flights of steep stairs to get there! Cleanliness needs addressing, in the morning a member of staff was mopping the floor but apparently when doing this task no furniture needs to be moved just mop around it. The shower cubicle in our room was a bit grubby and the window was broken and unable to close it, see photo.

We booked last minute and were accommodated for 6 plus a baby. The staff were immediately welcoming, and showed us to a great place to sit with the kids. The menu was great and the food was absolutely bang on. Great value for money too. It’s really hard to find places to dine out with such a large family that when you find somewhere that just gets what families need you want to shout it out. This is a fab find in The Cotswolds. Highly recommend
