Sunyata Mountain Alley Chongqing Resort

One city, one hotel choice. This hotel *is* the destination. Ahead of the bustling Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, I traveled to a city for one particular hotel. I wanted to experience the unique charm of Chongqing's premier hotel without getting lost in the crowds of Hongyadong. From two top-tier luxury options, I ultimately chose SUNYATA Chongqing, a secluded resort hotel tucked away in a deep alley. Before check-in, the butler called me and provided the front desk number, 191320... When I arrived at the drop-off point at the agreed time, Manager Zhang, the butler, and others were already waiting for me. We completed the check-in directly in the room, which was very convenient. After a long and tiring journey, I immediately noticed the film sound system in the room. I turned on some music and enjoyed a moment of relaxation. The room offered an excellent view, directly overlooking the river. Even while soaking in the bathtub, I could see the monorail bridge across the way. For sleep, the bedside panel allowed me to close the curtains and sheer blinds. The stay included a double breakfast, served at JUST CHILL Restaurant (LG floor via elevator) from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Since this restaurant is street-facing and shared with general tourists, a room card was required for breakfast. However, this did not diminish the superb quality of the morning meal. The fresh shrimp sandwich was delicious, and the cold beef salad was exceptionally tasty. Afternoon tea, with a 'Far Travels in the City' theme, was served from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, also at JUST CHILL Restaurant (LG floor via elevator). It's worth noting that hotel guests could also enjoy afternoon desserts at any time in the exclusive guest area outside the Baiya Restaurant, adjacent to the hotel lobby. That evening, we received turndown service, which included a sweet glutinous rice ball soup. My favorite spot during this stay was the exclusive guest lounge, The Moss Ground (1st floor), which offered complimentary coffee, soft drinks, snacks, and book borrowing. The minibar drinks in the room were also complimentary. Check-out time was at 12:00 PM, and because my baby took a nap, they kindly extended our check-out time, which was very thoughtful and customer-friendly. When it was time to leave, I contacted Butler Xu Ying to help with our luggage. One more thing that I was particularly pleased with: the photographers from Zixuan Photography – Yancheng – were incredibly patient and took high-quality photos for us. In summary, this was a luxury resort hotel with a sophisticated aesthetic, crafted by a dedicated team. It even made me postpone my stay at another top luxury hotel in Chongqing (Li Jing) again.

Staying here felt more like a homestay, and the experience was fantastic! The response time was super quick, and any needs were handled promptly. The room design was very stylish, and the environment was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shancheng Alley!

The hotel is located in Shancheng Alley, and during the National Day holiday, it offered a unique sense of tranquility amidst the bustling crowds, perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway rather than an intense sightseeing trip. The hotel is also very photogenic, with Ren'ai Hall and the room interiors providing excellent photo opportunities. The room decor is quite unique in Chongqing, distinct from most luxurious star-rated hotels, featuring a blend of Republican-era Chinese and French styles. As for the dining, you can order unlimited tea and snacks in the lounge. As someone who drinks coffee daily, I have to praise their coffee; it's likely made from high-quality beans, offering a rich, floral aroma with good crema.

This was my first time visiting Chongqing, and I stumbled upon this hotel. I have absolutely no regrets after checking in! The hotel's location is excellent, and the surrounding area is beautiful. You can easily walk to many scenic routes and slowly soak in the old city's atmosphere. There are plenty of picturesque spots near the hotel, perfect for taking great photos. The hotel's restaurant is also very good, with delicious dishes that are worth trying. Overall, I had a very satisfying experience and highly recommend it to everyone!

An experience that far exceeded my expectations! The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant, were all dedicated, friendly, and incredibly thoughtful. The room's structure, design, materials, and attention to detail were near perfect. I was genuinely surprised. I will definitely be back!

This hotel in Chongqing was an absolutely delightful stay. Every corner of the hotel is beautiful, and the staff (especially the young women) were incredibly warm, patient, and thoughtful, making you feel right at home. The breakfast is a semi-buffet style with a wide variety of dishes, and you can even customize flavors to your liking – it's really delicious. You can tell a lot of care went into the food preparation, and the tableware and furnishings are also carefully selected. It's a designer hotel with great aesthetics and taste. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chongqing!

This hotel, nestled in the Ren'ai Hall of Shancheng Alley, boasts a fantastic French retro decor. Despite being in the bustling old street of Shancheng Alley, it's incredibly quiet inside, truly offering a peaceful retreat amidst the lively surroundings. The most impressive feature is the multi-faceted window views; each window is like a landscape painting. One side offers a majestic view of the river flowing, with the Nanqimen Bridge spanning across it, while the other showcases the charming, jumbled streets, brimming with the authentic atmosphere of the old city. The service is incredibly thoughtful, offering unique local experiences like a stroll through Shancheng Alley, afternoon tea at an old teahouse, and DIY workshops, allowing for an immersive experience of old Chongqing. This hundred-year-old building is full of character and very conveniently located for exploring and shopping. Highly recommended!

The retro vibe here is amazing! And the breakfast is really delicious too!! They have both Chinese and Western options, and I actually quite enjoyed the dry-mixed wontons. Staying here is just so blissful! Plus, it's super photogenic; every shot comes out great.

Jishang Mountain is like an elephant, with the hotel split into two sections along the staircase of Shancheng Alley. One part consists of seven floors of guest rooms at the entrance of Shancheng Alley, while the other houses the hotel lobby, restaurant, and guest rooms of Ren'ai Hall. Located 1500 meters from Jiefangbei and 1000 meters from the Shibati historical and cultural area, it's the best choice to experience the history and geography of Chongqing's mountain city.
