Excellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. The Ibis Christchurch has a cute boutique feel to it. Security is great as the front door locks at 10 pm and you use your room key to get in. My room had a fridge, kettle, walled toiletries, and a/c (hurray!). For some reason I got an accessible room on different floors on both hotel stays. The bathroom is huge, but I can’t see a wheelchair in the bedroom section as it was a bit tight near the bed. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean. Breakfast was the usual fare of hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, baked goods, cereal, fruits & juices. I love the coffee machine. Our tour had dinner at the hotel that consisted of fruit salad, minestrone soup, chicken in mushroom sauce, baked ziti, and veggies which were decent. I am not sure if the restaurant is usually open for dinner and what their menu consist of. The staff during breakfast was friendly and attentive. Location of the hotel is perfect as it is near everything, especially Riverside Market. There is a mini mart & souvenir shop next door, as well as a little metro supermarket 5 minutes away on Lichfield Street.

Fantastic spot, had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for anyone staying in the area. Beds were comfortable and showers were clean. You can walk around to restaurants closeby

The loveliest - particular thanks to Sam - front desk staff (and efficient too). Excellent location, only a short walk to the centre, and very pleasant if you go through the park. There is also a bus stop directly outside; it will take you to the centre, or go to the bus station and take a trip to Sumner or Lyttleton - both worth a visit. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. For some reason though, complimentary water and crisps only appeared on our first day! Useful to have a guest laundry, but be warned there is only one machine for all floors... The kitchen area is fine, but not for those who want to cook up a storm - you need to ask for pots and pans. Not a problem for us as we preferred to eat out (try Rangoon Ruby nearby, good, if somewhat 'neutralized' flavours, as the waitress herself put it!) . Overall a really pleasant stay in a very interesting city.

1. This is a B&B hotel. Unlike the general hotel, the owner of the store, the two partners, take care of the hotel in person, and make the guests feel like they are at home. Especially the breakfast is sitting around a rectangular table, the owner is baking bread for everyone, tea or coffee. Although everyone did not know each other, they soon became familiar with it, chatting and chatting, chatting about the places they visited and sharing experiences. The atmosphere is very good and I like it very much. 2. There is a Malay Chinese in the host, very young, very enthusiastic and talkative. Chinese tourists will be more convenient. 3. The hotel is in a good location, about 15 minutes walking distance to the city center. It is convenient to visit the main attractions in the city. 4. The fly in the ointment is that because it is an old house, the room layout is limited, the room is relatively small, and may not be used to Chinese tourists who are used to big houses. In addition, Chinese tourists who are not good at English may not be able to adapt to this environment.

The hotel is centrally located, not very expensive at price - it also corresponds to quality. The reception times are very unfavorable and are not respected. As we were following the CHC only in the afternoon, we wanted to leave the baggage at the hotel. In the early evening we asked when and whether we could deliver the baggage. The early time (from the motel view) is to wait for the opening of the reception at 9:30. On the check-out day we waited just half ten before the reception and we found that the reception was still closed and the staff were not even entered the building.. We have to wait before closed doors until 09:45. When we (And the employees!) were finally entered, we could only deliver under baggage in half an hour... thus we are swept the remaining time in CHC.. We wouldn't come here anymore!

Stayed at Fino in a 2 bedroom corporate apartment with a colleague for three nights to attend a conference. I will start by saying the location was excellent as our conference was across the road. PROS: The reception staff were outstanding and extremely polite. The apartment was a good size and worked well having two bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you needed for a short stay. CONS: Bathrooms - grouting between the tiles was filthy, no where to hang your towel except over the toilet - yuk, the toiletries on the web page were not what you got - cheap dispensers on the wall of the bathroom that were empty so no way to wash ourselves on the first morning as there was no body wash nor soap. Had to ask twice and chase the cleaners to get them filled with poor quality product. No where to put your toothbrush or toiletries except to close the toilet seat and use that - yuk. The shower in the ensuite was in a very high sided bath and the shower head was so low that I had to get on my knees to wash my hair (I am only 5 foot 4). The main bathroom shower over the bath was broken and while my colleague was trying to shower very hot water was coming out the bath tap burning her feet - we brought this to the attention of the reception staff who said it would be fixed while we were out - but it wasn't. Bedrooms: no power points (in the entire apartment) that are close to a mirror to use hair dryer. Bedding was clean. General: apartment very sad and needs a good revamp. Lots of marks on the walls, missing paint, worn carpet, uncomfortable couch, damaged benchtop in the kitchen, very few coffee sachets left (enough for one weak coffee each). Had to ask to get more. We paid over $300 a night for this run down apartment with few amenities. Apart from the nice reception staff and the location I could not recommend. The pictures on the website do not represent what you are getting.

The hotel is small, new and in excellent condition. It is comparable to 3.5 to 4 star hotel. The room size is excellent if you book the 1 or 2 bedroom unit. The hotel provides basic amenities like brushes, toothpaste, slippers and cooking facilities etc. Also free parking. Location is excellent and close to Westfield mall. The hotel has a cafe call Ngon Ngon and serve good food especially Vietnamese beef noddle. One setback is aircon is in the main or living room, the bedroom does not have aircon.

This motel was great, friendly staff / owners, great location, very clean and tidy and very well priced. The lady that checked us in went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with everything, helped us with our bags and even bought us chocolates to our room. Great motel, we will be back and will definitely recommend to others. Thanks!

The family stayed at Garden City for approx 6 weeks as we had a child in Burwood Hospital. Maree and Stuart were very helpful while we commuted between islands. They did things like warm the room before we arrived, let us store items and gave us directions around such a flat city.
