Crowwood Hotel and Alba Restaurant

I have left 1 as I couldn’t leave a minus. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The room had a double bed and a board that I assume was meant to be a single bed. It had a wooden beam down the centre which made it impossible to sleep on, I asked the girl at reception for a proper single bed or thick mattress to be put in the room but was told it was not possible and kept asking me if I wanted the double bed removed and 2 singles put in which clearly I didn’t. At breakfast there was no one there and I had to go through to the kitchen to find someone, there was no menu so had no idea what the options were. The toaster had an extension cable running across the top of it so I was reduced to only being able to use half of it or run the risk of fire. While eating breakfast that was shocking, there were members of staff walking around on mobile phones with hoodies and walking past with plates of samosas. I had originally booked in for 3 nights but due to the lack of customer service we decided to leave a day early. I checked out and confirmed that I wouldn’t be charged for the extra night and was told by the receptionist that I 100% would not be charged. I checked my bank and found that they did charge me for the night we didn’t stay. I spent 2 weeks trying to speak to the manager and was told they were in after 1200 then got told they were in after 1700 then they were ill only to be continually told that they do not give refunds. Absolutely disgusting behaviour that cost me £150. I would avoid this place at ALL COSTS and instead sleep in your car or in a park both of which would be better than this hotel.

Love the Crowwood and it's now our regular. Family friendly, lovely staff and reasonable prices. We mainly have the indian menu, their chicken pakora is delicious and you can tell its all good quality, fresh ingredients used. The staff always go over and above with the food and hospitality.

We stayed here in October, the room was nice and comfortable and warm, the bathroom was modern, I noticed a few little marks on the bed sheets but nothing major, the one thing is the house keeping does not knock before coming in, the first time it was an accident she thought a different room said no to housekeeping, and then on our last night we put a chair infront of the door because it kept rattling at night and in the morning house keeping unlocked the door and burst into the room past the chair and realised we were still in bed and didn’t say sorry or anything, just left and this was at 10:20 - 40 minutes before check out, it was very disappointing, I did feel very uneasy in the morning when house keeping were in the hallway because I wasn’t sure if they were going to come in or not… besides that everything was nice and I would recommend it just if the house keeping knock first 👍

It was my first time at the crowwood as im normally stuck in premier inns . Great parking even for my van . I had a warm welcome at reception and check in was easy . My room was clean and looked smart i had no issues at all. The bar area was fantastic the staffs were great we had a laugh as well as exceptional service and breakfast in the morning was amazing . The service i got was top notch . I will to get booked in at the crowwood whenever i have work around glasgow and i would recommend the hotel or even just the restaurant . 5 stars from me

We stayed one night before a cycling trip. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a meal in the hotel restaurant. The food was of high quality and reasonably priced. Our server Mac was friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

This was my first visit to this hotel following a recommendation from a colleague. Handy location just out of the city centre.Large free car park and friendly girl on reception. Room was large and clean and perfect for an overnight stay. Was nice and quiet during the night so had a good night sleep. Excellent Indian restaurant on site as well. Will be back again soon.
