Great little hidden gem on Route 66 in Grants. Recently bought by only 3rd owner in its lifetime. It is a very positive work in progress. The rooms are very thoughtfully done with lots of little homey touches. The owner is very personable and over the top proud of his place. Will only get better and better with time.

Grants is a little sketchy, but we felt safe and fine at this motel. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and allowed our two little dogs at no extra charge. The room was clean and well appointed with cutesy vintage touches like an old fashioned phone and a record player. Good pizza place within walking distance. Trains rolling by silently across the road. Lots of murals and some neon to photograph nearby. A nice night and worth the stop.

This is definitely a very old and previously shabby property, but many improvements have been made--fresh paint, better quality bedding and towels than I have at home and everything clean. The lobby needs work; it doesn't make a good first impression. But we would stay here again.

Real in-room coffee, great showerhead and water pressure, friendly staff. I think the managers might consider making more of the historic Route 66 connection.

Route 66 is not vibrant as it once was and is off the beaten path. These property owners and their staff are trying to maintain and improve this property and make it a nice clean place to stay.

We are driving Route 66. We were looking for a taste of the old mother road. This is it! We parked right in front of our orange door! It’s like stepping back in time. Rebecca was so incredibly nice and showed us to our room to show my boy the turntable and records in the room! Safe and clean! A wonderful burger. From lotta burger is a block up the street so we walked! If you want the Hyatt keep on driving. If you want the real Route 66 feel then you will love it!

We were on our way to Arizona for a week vacation. We searched for private owned motels in Grants and choose this one. It was late afternoon when we arrived. The owner said they only had 2 rooms left and we needed a double. She worked out a queen room for us and made it work. If all you need is a clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower for the night this is the place. Front desk help was very courteous and helpful. Park outside your room. Easy checkout. Safe travels!

Staying at this retro, Route 66 motel was one of the highlights of our road trip. It is in the process of being renovated, but the unrenovated rooms have a charming retro feel and are surprisingly spacious for motel rooms. They are a bit run down, as is to be expected, but they are scrupulously clean. The owner was an absolute delight. He directed us to an excellent restaurant and coffee shop, and gave us great information about scenic routes and things to do on the next leg of our journey. We had imagined that our trip would be car camping with occasional stops at motels just like this. Sadly, none of the other motels were even remotely as fun.
