What a sweet spot. Lovely rainforest surrounds. Positives: quiet, relaxing and secluded. Lovely staff. Great pool. Lots of native animals. Beautiful beach walking Negatives: not a lot around food/drink wise. Need a car / driver. Bus unreliable. Ubers are ok. $20 for a continental breakfast a little steep.

We stayed for one night. The room was clean however the TV didn't work, and the restaurant wasn't open. This was an issue that we didn't have our own car and there's nothing else open to fund food to eat. Waited over an hour to get uber eats for breakfast from Smithfield. We should have been told that we could not get breakfast from the resort. We were given a story that the place was closing down soon for renovations but this wasn't relevant to us at all.

A great spot for a beautiful wedding the day went off without a hitch. We had special diet/drink needs for a couple of guests and on a number of occasions tried to contact staff regarding same, our emails were never answered nor our calls returned, very un professional.

We loved our stay at Kewarra Beach Resort, the combination of beach and rainforest made it feel private and peaceful. Loved seeing the Wallabies, hearing the kookaburras and all the butterflies around us. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We chose not to have a car - there is a very reliable bus service a minute walk away so going in and out of Cairns or to nearby places with places to eat was very easy. Heaps of space in the rooms - we had one night in the beach front room and five nights in the rainforest suite and were happy in both. If you're looking for somewhere with character in nature that's peaceful this will be perfect. Weather permitting the beach shack on Friday & Sunday evenings is not to be missed!

Loved the room right on the beach! Loved the beach shack bar on the beach on Fridays & Sundays. Loved that it felt quiet. Two notes: 1. They only serviced our room once even when we left the sign on the door daily. 2. Spa was completely booked out for the entire week we were there - book early if you’re wanting to get in.

Exceptional service- staff go over and above and are very friendly and accommodating. Location - awesome. Cafe/restaurant great- not open evenings however Friday night live music food and drinks ON THE BEACH- just lovely! Peaceful and quiet set amidst palm trees and lush greenery- dolphins and wallabies were an added bonus. We live walking and walked to Trinity Beach twice and along the beach to Palm Cove for dinner( 45 min walk).

We had a terrific time at Kewarra Beach Resort & Spa. Leanne, Julie and Paul were terrific hosts and make a damn fine coffee too! The atmosphere at the Resort is so relaxing and it was a real pleasure sitting each morning having breakfast looking at the gorgeous rainforest. We stayed in a deluxe beachfront bungalow, which I highly recommend. I had reiki & a massage at the Spa. Jess is an excellent masseuse and very intuitive and I would have to say it was one of the best reiki session I have ever had. We went to the Beach Shack on both Friday and Sunday, and had a great time. They have food trucks, music, and a bar and it's a great, chilled-out way to spend an evening. I would have liked to give Kewarra 5 stars, but I didn't because I think the mattress, although comfy, has had it's day. But that would not stop me from going back. Keep up the good work guys.

This resort certainly has a lot going for it. First of all, its location is gorgeous. You are nestled away within a tranquil oasis of luscious tropical vegetation - all within a stone's throw of Smithfield's cinema/shopping centre, Cairns international airport, Cairns itself (not that close in heavy traffic though), and Trinity Beach restaurants. The resort has its own access to lovely Kewarra Beach - not a 'private' beach as such, but this is hardly a negative, since the beach itself is quiet, and we loved chatting to locals and playing with their dogs. There is a stunning bit of rainforest ('remnant vegetation' really, since it's suburbia), with its own inlet, along this beach. What a treat. The accommodation itself was a little dated but elegant, and extremely well maintained. It had two bedrooms, which was great - somewhere for the kids to sleep while we [in theory] stayed up and watched a little TV. In practice, however, the TV was old and there was no Netflix. What's more is the lighting was pretty gross (fluorescent) in the sitting area. In practise, we just switched off and had a couple of early nights, because the TV and sitting area wasn't that functional or nice, but maybe that's a good thing right!? There is no kitchenette as such - more of a traditional motel set up, with kettle, little milks, coffee and tea making facilities, bar fridge. You could 'sort of' bring snacks for the kids, but you wouldn't want to make much more than a sandwich for them. One 'con', and I honestly do understand this is not their fault, but I will say it anyway - they are seriously short staffed. I knew it was unrealistic, but I had so hoped for a massage. Sure enough and as expected, the spa / massage person was completely booked, and not really returning calls. She did eventually leave us a message in reply, but it was only to say that she was fully booked. I knew it would be like that because everywhere in the far north is crying out for staff, but it was still a bit sad and disappointing. If you're wanting spa services, just book ahead at Smithfield shopping centre (do book ahead, as even Smithfield is short staffed ... I did not get a massage while I was there, but maybe you will!) The restaurant was much the same. You couldn't dine there for dinner when we stayed. There was going to be a lovely night out under the stars on the beach, but they cancelled it due to the prospect of rain. I felt sorry for the management. They basically had to call it on risking paying the staff thousands of dollars, versus the chance that noone would have come. We would still have gone but therein lies the dilemma for management I guess. Maybe another strategy would be to call up all the people who've booked and confirm that they will still come? I don't know what the answer is. I was so sad when it was cancelled though. My one actual complaint is that on the hotel / resort website and communication material, it does say that one of the two pools was heat

We stayed at this resort for five days in a gorgeous beach front villa. We had our own private beach in front of our villa where you could sit at night to watch the sunsets with a glass of wine. Unfortunately the Beach Shack was closed when we were there as weather was drizzle rain or overcast and most of it is open. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant, which was like an indoor/outdoor space, was amazing. We had breakfast there one morning and lunch which was beautiful and the surrounding grounds are amazing. There are little wallabies everywhere and just an abundance of flowers, birdlife and I think some crocs in the creek. It was about 20 minutes out of Cairns but that suited us as it was nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend staying here and will be back again one day
