Myself and my friends had the most wonderful experience at Hotel Castello in San Rocco a Pilli. We were a large party of seven, travelling from London to Tuscany (some of us for the first time). Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by the owner Marinella - who provided a service for us that was of the highest standard. Equally, when pre-planning parts of our itinerary (from London), the receptionist Valeria couldn't have been anymore helpful! Unfortunately, whilst we pre-booked, our taxi company (in Siena) let us down, Marinella and Valeria went out of their way to resolve the situation - this was far and beyond what we expected and we're eternally grateful! It's a clean, peaceful and beautiful place to stay, with stunning views - we're already looking forward to our next visit already!

Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our time at Casa Di Campagna Toscana. This beautiful Bed and Breakfast exceeded our expectations by far. The grounds are beautiful, and the accommodations/decor are comfortable, exactly what you’d expect of a country house in Tuscany. The location in Siena provides centralized access to all of the Tuscan region making it perfect for sightseeing. One of the main highlights was the staff. Sofia and Emanuele went above and beyond to help us craft daily itineraries that surpassed our expectations. They could not have been more kind and accommodating. The breakfast is absolutely delightful and far better than any breakfast we’ve had included at a B&B. A special thanks to Signora Bianca for preparing delicious food and making breakfast one of the highlights of our days. Everything is fresh, locally sourced and plentiful. The restaurant on site, Il Grillio Moro, is outstanding as well. We highly recommend the local aged Chianina steak prepared Tuscan style which is sold by the kilo, paired with local wine and sides. We highly recommend Casa Di Campagna Toscana and would definitely stay here again when we return to the area. If you are looking for an authentic Tuscan stay, don’t hesitate to book this hidden gem! Self-contained parking, suitable for self-driving, 15 minutes drive from the city, breakfast is simple and self-service, the room is very large with the kitchen, quite satisfactory! There is a supermarket nearby that is not expensive!

Hotel alejado del centro. Necesitas coche. Aparcamiento gratuito en el hotel. Personal amable. Desayuno correcto. En la habitación hacia un poco de frío, Tiene nevera para poner tú la bebida. No nos gustó que estuviera alejado del centro, había que coger el coche y en Siena el aparcamiento es todo zona azul y nos es barato, 2€ la hora. Nos dijeron de un sitio gratuito para aparcar, pero fue imposible. No volveremos

We were lucky to spend three nights at the Hotel Athena on our recent visit to Siena. Our room was comfortably large, nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed with nice linens. The outdoor terrace and bar opened every evening at 5 (this is contingent on good weather, which we were fortunate to have); it's a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the lovely view of the countryside and the sunset. Breakfast was included in our rate; the selection of breakfast items was good, with freshly baked pastries, scrambled eggs, a variety of meats, cheeses, and fruits, plus cereal and yoghurt. Guests were expected to make their own coffee from the espresso/coffee machine. The staff was helpful throughout; the receptionists were gracious, the bartender very professional. The historic center of Siena is a fairly easy 15-minute walk from the hotel (prepare for some hills along the way). The nearest restaurants are about 8-10 minutes away by foot; we didn't try the hotel dining room except for breakfast. We'll certainly consider the Hotel Athena again when next we're in Siena; it's convenient to the center of town, and really nicely appointed.
