We were in the area to tour Kochi's sights and sounds, and while Auberge Tosayama is about a 45 minute drive from the city, we had our own car and felt that relaxing in a remote oasis would be better than staying at a bland, large hotel. After staying at this retreat, we felt that we made a good choice. It's a stylish small resort (only 16 rooms total) that blends in nicely with its mountainous surroundings. It has a mostly earthly tone in muted colors that really soothed our soul and made us feel one with nature. The reception area has floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of the lush greenery and rolling hills all around. Our Villa was accessed by crossing the river via a suspension bridge (it's sturdy, not to worry) - an interesting way to get to the room without it being too far to be an arduous task. The Villa itself is one of a few that on the other side of the river, and each are detached units that are reminiscent of a mountain hut. The Villa was tastefully furnished and well appointed. While we generally prefer larger rooms with bedrooms that are separate from the living room, the junior suite-style layout was adequate. Two nits to pick, however. First, no Onsen (natural hot springs) bath in the room, as is the case with many top-end ryokans. Secondly, internet speeds were terrible... that is, if we could even get connected (it was intermittent.) While I understand that the purpose of staying in a place like this is to unwind and disconnect from the civilized world, it would be nice to have the option to get online should we so choose. Oh, one more thing... the nearest electrical outlet is FAR from the only table in the room; we borrowed a long extension cord, but even then, it was literally a stretch for the cable to reach my laptop. At least they have a communal Onsen, which is gender segregated (like 99% of public ryokan Onsen baths) and offers both an indoor and open-air bath. It's not very large, but given the small number of rooms on site, it's doubtful that you'll have to share it with too many people, save for late afternoons (just before dinner) and late mornings (after breakfast and just before check-out time.) Auberge Tosayama's supposed calling card is its food offerings - after all, it has ”Auberge” in its name. We enjoyed the meals, and it's probably as good as it's going to get in Kochi. It won't be on our ”10 best ryokan meals” list, but it doesn't have to be. Not everything was spectacular, but there were a few memorable dishes. The Foie Gras ”Joyo Mushi” was a dish consisting of Foie Gras mixed with grated Yam that was steamed into a ball shape, topped with Uni (Sea Urchin) and doused with Ankake sauce. Even the simpler dishes, including a salad that contained locally-sourced vegetables such as Komatsuna (Japanese Mustard Spinach) and Japanese Turnip was excellent. We were in Kochi after all, so we really wanted to try some of the indigenous dishes... and Auberge Tosayama did a great job introducing us to many lo

The rent payment is not on the platform of normal trip. It is said that it is paid on arrival. In fact, you have to contact in advance. Because I didn't read the email, he didn't come when I checkedin. No one showed up during the whole process. I need to communicate in English. Our room is on the ground floor (parking floor) below, there is no elevator, we have to take an outdoor rotating staircase! It is impossible to carry luggage safely! This is extremely poor! Parking spaces have to cross the road.

I was alone and made a reservation to save money. Hotel charges are cheap, but are cleaned neatly. It's an older hotel, but it has everything you need. If you are concerned about the smell of cigarettes, you can borrow a deodorant spray at the front desk. It's a little far from the station, but I was able to borrow a bicycle for free, so it was convenient to go to the Sunday market and Hirome market. The female front desk clerk was friendly and pleasant. The room was spacious enough for a single room. When I went out into the corridor, I could hear the noise from the previous room, but the room was quiet and the bed was a semi-double, so I slept well. It is a pity that there is no washlet. But it is enough if we only stay.
The room was renovated and very nice. The hotel is located right next to the station, so it's convenient for going to Hirome Market. I'd like to use it again.
Breakfast is a Japanese-style set meal, very delicate and delicious.
I stayed in a Japanese-style room, the place was spacious, the tatami was very comfortable, the small entrance to the room, there was a shoe cabinet, very convenient.
The hotel lobby is European style, a bit classical, making people feel advanced.
If you are driving by yourself, the parking lot is free and very convenient. If there is a bus to the hotel, you must check the shift in advance.
There are golf driving ranges, tennis facilities, and a good place to relax.
Both of them are about 5 minutes walk to Kochi Jo castle and Harima and bridge, and there are restaurants such as Hirome market around, and Sunday city is also held on the previous street, and it is convenient as a base for sightseeing. It was a cheap business hotel, but it is clean and you can drink raw beer with welcome drinks, and the cospa is good because it has breakfast.

PPakoholicLocated in heart of Kochi city (very close to 高知城), this hotel is your best choice. They offer high speed WiFi, AirPlay and Chromecast connected TV, with all these you can still enjoy a very good price! Extremely high CP value, worth of money. Special thanks to the staff who helped me to extend my check-out time due to headache🙏🏻
GGuest Userthe boss is very enthusiastic, easy to talk to foreigners, actively contact in advance and guide how to get there.the restaurant has breakfast prepared, overall it is ok.
There is a supermarket and lawson right next to it, convenient!
GGuest UserConvenient and you can walk from Kochi Station and Rimaya Bridge. It is close to the main main street, so it is close to the bus and tram stops. The Sunday market where the city leaves on the road is just going down the street in front of the hotel. Breakfast is bread, yogurt, boiled *, salad, banana. Drinks are milk, juice and coffee. There are several types of bread and it is delicious. The room is small but the bed is large. If you spread one large suitcase, you can't put anything else. There is no outlet in the bathroom. The bed is soft. The correspondence of the reception staff was good.
GGuest UserI stayed in a hurry on a solo trip! Conveniently located near the bus terminal and JR station! The downtown area is a little far away. It's a little old building, but there's no problem at all! The hotel front desk and public bath are on the 2nd floor and the rooms are on the 3rd floor or above. The room was a hotel leave plan, but it was a little small and there was no problem! The bedding was clean and I slept comfortably! However, please note that there is a coin laundry on the 1st floor, you cannot go directly by elevator, and you will have to go out from the 2nd floor once! In yukata and slippers, may it be cold or wet by rain? I was a little worried that the coin laundry equipment was dirty, but I was able to wash it safely and was saved! Breakfast is also included and it is good to choose from several types!
IiwaidaThis hotel is located in an alley on the south side of the Enoguchi River. It is a little far from Kochi Station and Tosaden tram stops and the transportation is not so good. The nearest transportation is Nakanohashi or Oitesuji bus stop. I think it takes less than 10 minutes to walk from the Kochibashi tram stop in Tosaden. I stayed in a single room, but the room is a general business hotel. The facilities are small 々 old and the unit bath is small, but the cleaning was well done. The front desk was also polite. Located on the north side of downtown, you won't have to worry about eating. If you go a little south, it is a shopping street in Obiya Town, and there are many restaurants around the hotel. However, unfortunately there is no convenience store nearby, so it may be inconvenient if you want to shop a little. If you are here, you can walk back without any problems even if you spend late in the downtown area. It is recommended for those who want to stay reasonably near downtown.
GGuest UserAbout 15 minutes to Hirome Market! So you can drink and walk a lot !!!
This area is crowded because it is close to the station, so be careful when you come by car!
I made a smoking room cleanliness, but it smelled three times as bad as I imagined.
Did you smoke?!?! It was the smell of the place.
It may have been bad weather and I couldn't ventilate it.
Still karaoke hall level, so it's okay at all if you're heavy smokers🙆♀️
GGuest UserLocated just in the middle of the Kochi Station Harima and Bridge, it is enough to be used as a base for sightseeing and eating. It would be good to think that the facilities are a bit old but the minimum required is a general business hotel. I think it is better to walk on the main street if you walk through the shopping street from the north Harima bridge and go to the hotel.

Kochi Castle
SSujith Bhakthan T RIts a must visit place in Kochi where you can see and experience the history and tradition of city. try to go on Sunday to experience the sunday market as well.
Katsurahama Beach
翱翱翔的大鲨鱼On the gentle beach stretching 4 kilometers along the coast, the waves and the seashells, drifting wood, and small creatures on the beach are all artworks. It is also a surfing mecca. Thousands of T-shirt art exhibitions are held every year during Golden Week.
Harimayabashi
Ccoo***anSpeaking of the Harimaya Bridge, I had the impression that there was only one scarlet railing in the city. When I visited it was perfectly presented as a bridge over the stream. Also, the area was reserved as a park and there was an underground square where the bridges were reserved and displayed with only red railings. On the other side of the railway, a non-red Harimaya bridge has been repaired, and the more you know about it, the less you know which is the real Harimaya bridge. Also, I was surprised to learn that the song "I See the Buddhist Kanzashi" by Yosakoi Bushi was adapted from the true story of Junnobu and Oma. The Harimaya Bridge is worth seeing and understanding.
Hirome Market
暝暝逝Xilomei Market ~ This name does not know how to come, the map is not easy to find, not far from Gaozhi City, close to the river into the sea. It is an arc translucent roof street, especially like the convenient street when I was a child, and also like the long waiting hall of the old train station. Many markets in Japan are top-ranked attractions. I didn't understand this kind of thing very much. I found out that the Japanese market has a completely different ecological environment. It is more like our market, food street, and small commodity city.
The Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden
雨雨停晴空Although it is not a particularly well-known botanical garden, the scenery in the botanical garden is also very beautiful. There are various plants and the air is very fresh. The transportation here is very convenient. It feels very happy to walk around here!
Sakamoto Ryoma Statue

Kochi Park
翱翱翔的大鲨鱼Go to the Kochi Park behind the city, often missed, but after this introduction must remember, the next autumn visit must come to see the super beautiful ginkgo! Although Gaozhi City is not famous for maple leaf attractions, the grass and trees in the city will gradually turn red with the temperature, almost the peak period.
Chikurinji Temple
暝暝逝The name of Zhulin Temple is very familiar. I recalled it. It may be because there are too many Zhulin Temple in China. I know that there are two in Jiangsu, and there are several in Shandong. Japan also has a surname such as Zhuyuan Temple. It is not surprising that this temple is located in the seaside location of Kochi, the Japanese imitation Wutai Mountain. The Bodhisattva is worshipped by Wenshu, the mountains and forests are rich and beautiful.
