The service staff are very kind and attentive. When checking out, the gentleman at the counter for other consumption amounts said that you cannot pay by card and you have to pay in cash, but there is a sign at the counter that you can pay by card and it does not say that you must pay in cash. I feel a little strange.
What a perfect service with nice and kind owners. The owner can pick you up at the bus stop for free if you want. The price of stay was cheap and reasonable and they provide you with Japanese traditional style meal with reasonable prices as well. I would recommend this Ryokan. I wish I could visit this again.
The service here is very good
Quiet environment, very Japanese-style hotel
Staff are very polite but may have less experience in hosting foreign guests
More need to be translated by machine
Eat because we are seven people.
But you need half hot pot and half barbecue
It should be better to provide it together.
A sashimi experience is available here
Very special.
Overall, the price is very high, the staff is friendly (but more inclusive)
I chose a Japanese-style room, each room has indoor and outdoor soup, the room is very large and comfortable. Generally fragrant wood, very nostalgic, cost-effective
Food is high but not high.
Good staff service
Traveling with my mother, she liked this hotel the most during the whole trip. The service is really good. When the bus arrives at the station, you can call and a car will come to pick you up. The speed of arrival is very fast. The receptionist is very enthusiastic. She helped us solve the problem of booking the return ticket and arranged a car (not the normal drop-off time) to the station. The cave hot spring of the hotel is a feature, and guests staying in the hotel can also enjoy the private hot spring on the mountain that needs to be reserved.
The hotel is remote, and you have to take a taxi to go to Kurokawa Naka. Apart from the remote and inconvenient location, the hotel environment is good, away from the hustle and bustle, and there are waterfalls nearby. The staff are friendly and can communicate in simple English. The kaiseki cuisine and breakfast at night are very rich and delicious! The hot spring next to the room is huge!
The hotel is located on a plateau plain, which is very affected by the weather. There is often heavy fog and hazy phenomena, and the scenery may not necessarily be good. However, the air is very fresh and the temperature is perfect. In addition, the hotel facilities are good and the food is very diverse and attractive. The room is so big and convenient for picking up luggage. Because the location is not very convenient, it is only recommended for self-driving travelers.

GGuest UserI truly enjoyed my stay at Yamamizuki. I wish I had stay for another night. Service from everyone there was heartwarming. Room was clean and spacious. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Not to mention the huge open air onsen was the best of all. The onsen was by the creek. Be careful the temperature was quite high. They have English speaking staff.
Only one little thing. There seemed to be a shortage of towels (?). I accidentally got my large bath towel wet and would like to exchange another one. However, I was told to hang the towel dry because each guest can only have one bath towel. I just thought hotels in general have lots of towels. It’s not a big deal though. I’d suggest to bring at least one of your own large bath towels to Kurokawa Onsen.
I believe this is one of the best onsens in Kurokawa. I’d love to come again during autumn!
GGuest UserFirst-class accommodation experience! Because the hotel is far away, during 15:00-18:00, the hotel arranges a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off at the station, which is very convenient by car. Passengers staying in the afternoon receive matcha and desserts.
The receptionist was very good at appreciating the receptionist's attitude, even if the language was not available, and used the translation app to patiently answer my questions and carefully book a taxi for me to go elsewhere, and book a dinner at the restaurant , which is still open in the evening near the attractions.
The hotel is very clean and tidy, so travelers can rest at ease. The facilities and utensils are very complete, with beautiful open-air wind, public internal baths, and private winds with exquisite garden views. During your stay, you can relax completely.
The breakfast on the following day was exquisite, rich and delicious. Along with the cooked meal, there is a small pot for diners to make homemade smoked omelettes. The meal is accompanied by delicious desserts, juices and coffee, which is a very complete experience.
When leaving, the hotel also arranged a shuttle bus to the station to continue the journey. The clerk who appreciated the reception walked to the car to see off the bus friendlyly, which was deeply received and felt very warm. If there is a chance, I will choose this hotel to stay again next time!
TTo Eat and To TravelThere are many public and private bath to choose from in this ryokan. Plus you can get the kurokawa onsen pass (tegata) which gives you access to 3 external onsens in the town (most ryokans in town are participating) within one year of purchase of the tegata. We didn’t book dinner at the hotel, and used the diner time to try Nonohana お宿 野の花 and Ryokan Konoyu 黒川温泉 旅館 こうの湯, then next morning before breakfast I went to most of the onsens in the hotel, then after breakfast we checked out and tried Miyama Sanso 山みず木別邸 深山山荘, all four places (including this hotel) have amazing onsens and views. We drove so it was easier for us to try onsens far from the hotel, but driving in town wasn’t the easiest given narrow roads. The parking lot is a few minutes walk from the hotel, we kept the key with us for easy move around.
ひひとみI've been to Kurokawa Onsen a few times, but this was my first time at Oda Onsen. The indoor bath in the room is available 24 hours a day, so I used the large public bath right after checking in and the next morning. At night, I used the bath in my room. My skin became so smooth and silky.
There were a few other inns nearby, but they were all separate buildings. It was quiet and I was able to relax. The staff told me there was nothing nearby, but it was nice and different from the bustling tourist destination of Kurokawa Onsen.
We ate in a private room, and enjoyed the kaiseki cuisine.
I told them in advance that I don't like raw meat, so they prepared a substitute for Kumamoto's specialty horse meat, which I was very happy with. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance.
IIvanSokolovGetting to the onsen village is difficult, but it's worth it. The village itself is located in the very center. Unfortunately, no one met us or answered by mail - so they reduced the service. The staff speaks English. Everything is clean and beautiful, the view from the window is amazing. The kaiseki dinner is wonderful, the breakfast is also good. The onsen is good (women's and men's change in the morning), but I recommend buying a pass to 3 other onsen in the tourist center, because there are more interesting onsen. You can't take pictures in the onsen, but ... the photos on the Internet correspond to what is actually there. There are 3 private baths - if there is no one in them, you can go in and use them (no need to book), but the common ones, separate by gender, are better. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out to walk around, if you ask politely.
CChris_yyyThere is a certain distance from Wenquan Street. If you do n’t have a car, you must contact the shuttle in advance and bring good meals. The owner is very good. I went to the bus station to help us take our luggage back at noon, and came back to pick us up at 5 pm~ Very stunning environment, surrounded by mountains behind the room. There is private soup in the room, but I always go to the public open-air style ~ because it is also a private reservation ~ And the environment is more beautiful than the private soup ~ Everything is perfect, Kurokawa Onsen is really great ~
DDaiziVery wonderful!
I would have said that this villa was perfect, but unfortunately, the hot plate listed as a facility was nowhere to be found.
Even though the cold water valve was turned off, the hot spring suddenly turned cold twice, and it was difficult to understand whether it was set to change to cold water at a certain time or not, as there were no details in the room guide.
If there is a time setting, it would be helpful if it was written in the room guide.
When I tried to get into the hot spring, I was surprised at how cold the bathtub was.
And if check-out was at least 11:00, it would have been even more perfect!
Even so, I would still like to stay for multiple nights next time.
Thank you very much.
GGuest UserA very satisfying stay!
The design of the cabin is stunning. The two-story independent cabin allows children to climb up and down as much as they like. The owner of the B&B is very enthusiastic. Even if he doesn't understand the language, he tries his best to use translation software to introduce Kurokawa Onsen's attractions and B&B facilities. It really makes people feel like returning to their hometown.
Kurokawa is very quiet at night, and you can really enjoy the tranquility and leisure of the deep mountain hot springs.
The cabin is fully equipped and can be used for simple cooking. I cooked Japanese sukiyaki pot with the children in the cabin, which was very satisfying!
The outdoor hot spring in the B&B is another amazing place. Because it was summer, we didn’t make a reservation for the hot spring. The owner of the B&B enthusiastically invited us to enjoy it (unexpectedly). Unexpectedly, it turned out to be an independent open-air hot spring. I highly recommend making a reservation. It’s too Feel comfortable!
The next day, the children were very reluctant to say goodbye to the owner of the B&B and the owner's dog. Along the way, they still missed the comfortable bed (actually just a tatami sleeping mat) in the B&B. I will definitely visit again next time I have the opportunity!

GGuest UserThe host is very friendly with a neat guesthouse. Help me when I come and go by car. This is a guesthouse with good value for money so that I am willing to visit again.
YYoonsicIf you don't have a car, you'll be struggling with the streets.
The hostel itself is tidy and has enough amenities. It is recommended to take a car, and the advantage is that it is very close to the highest ryokan hot springs because it is a little distance, so you can enjoy the highest hot springs from the morning.
