The place is set back from the main road which is nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. WiFi was good. I had mango for breakfast every morning. They were very good. The decoration was a bit kitsch. I stayed in two different rooms and one definitely needed more updating than the second. Basic thing like broken light bulb (1 of 2 in the ceiling) should have been noticed before any guest checked in. The only complaint I have has to do with the tours they “sold” me after I booked. The sales manager sent me an email with different tour names and no description or explanation. I researched them and decided to book 2 tours back to back with the hotel since I wanted to pay by credit card on the hotel bill so I didn’t have to carry so much cash. I got there late and the tour was for 7am pick up the following morning. The receptionist had no record of any tours I booked. The sales manager never booked the tours even though I received an email telling me all the tours were confirmed. Luckily, the receptionist could book the tours for me at 11pm. The whole thing created stress I didn’t need at the beginning of a vacation. Then i was presented with the bill for the tours for cash payment. I asked what the other people on the tour paid and I was charged a 25% premium. I told the hotel for that premium, they could take the payment in credit card. Not a big big deal. Just unpleasant.
First of all, let me start by saying how much we LOVED our stay. The location is absolutely stunning, and we had an amazing stay. First and foremost, I want to thank to all the staffs esp to Aj ( who made our stay extra special. The food for me was exceptional, they had a wide variety of cuisines, and I was there for 2 nights and didn't have a bad meal while I was there. I felt the food price was very reasonable given the location, service and quality Astoria set the bar incredibly high and for someone who considers themselves to have a vacation I would highly recommend this place.
Very comfortable beds and pillows, lage ensuing room, excellent shower. Loved the very large balcony area and gardens. Excellent breakfasts. Lovely helpful staff. Very easy to hail an inexpensive trike to go anywhere from just outside. Easy to get to a few hotels nearby that offer day passes to use bar resturants and pools. The pool here we did not use as its totally inside - great if you want a proper lengths swim. The gardens here are beautiful. Highly recommend for a very reasonably price comfortable accommodation in Peurto Princessa. The staff can easily book trips if you want.

Staff were friendly which is the only good point for me to be honest. Otherwise I was disappointed for the following reasons (some are illustrated by pictures) There was a fridge in the room which had rust that didn’t work, there was what looks like mould in the bathroom. There was a electrical plug socket hanging half of the wall ( do not think safe to use). There was an extra guest on the floor- not sure if it was there for decoration or if it was alive ( picture will show you what I mean). The accommodation is right at the back of the main road. Which means you have a long path to walk down to get to it. Not ideal at night to be honest Not an accommodation I would stay at again to be honest.
My husband and I stayed in one of the little huts with our own deck. It was so nice to relax in the hammock. Everything was clean and the staff were very quick to help if you needed something. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The food was delicious and they were able to make vegan for me. We walked down to the beach and back which I enjoyed because it was good exercise. The walk to the beach can be steep at times so wouldn't be good for someone with mobility issues. We loved it here and would definitely go back and recommend it to our friends.
My family scheduled a getaway to Palawan during the last long weekend of August. Sir Earl, his wife, and his staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived at PPS airport to our time at the accommodation. Throughout our 5-day stay, the complimentary breakfast was satisfying, although it would be nice to see more options on the menu. Our experience was smooth and hassle-free. The staff was very responsive to all our inquiries. If you plan to visit Rancho Mitra, Butterfly Garden, and Baker's Hill, they are just a short tricycle ride away from the hotel, taking about 3-5 minutes. You can even opt to walk to the main highway and ride motor cabs if you intend to go to the Crocodile Farm, Cathedral, and Baywalk. Our experience with the locals showed that Palawenyos are very welcoming to tourists, so don't hesitate to explore the city. Generally, residents do not take advantage of visitors. I tried to consider other hotels, but only Earl de Princesa offered a budget-friendly price without compromising on comfort and hospitality. I was not disappointed. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and hot showers.

AAprillice AlvezHad the best time at The Funny Lion! They provided complimentary airport transfers and bikes, which made getting around so convenient. The staff helped us book tours and rentals, making our trip hassle-free. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with free tote bags, drinks, coffee and fruits. The variety of complimentary fruity drinks was a delightful touch. They're SUPER accommodating. Shout-out to Desiree and their general manager, Mike. And especially, Livia that's been in contact with me via WhatsApp. She on top of everything.
While the food is a bit pricey, the 999 Saturday dinner buffet was super worth it. Our room was impeccably clean with the most comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, and had excellent water pressure. We appreciated the bidet and the abundance of towels. The peaceful atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable.
They also gave us complimentary cookies and friendship bracelets when we checked out and even brought us to the airport. As first-time visitors to Palawan, The Funny Lion gave us the best vacation ever. Highly recommend!
EEnrique MiceliI had an amazing stay at Panja Resort Palawan. The views from the hotel are simply breathtaking, offering a serene and picturesque environment that made my stay incredibly relaxing. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring.
The hotel environment was perfect, with lush greenery and a tranquil atmosphere that added to the overall charm of the place. The pool area was fantastic, offering a great spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The service was outstanding, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their professionalism and hospitality truly enhanced my experience.
Overall, Panja Resort Palawan deserves a full 5 stars for its excellent amenities, stunning views, and exceptional service. I highly recommend this hotel to solo travelers looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.
GGuest UserThis place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.
445daWe spent a week while in this hotel is very well hosting the boss speaks very well French ! Comfortable room pleasant bathroom sympathetic decorations very gentle price bravos to remake André
IIssaFrankThe stay was a great escape from the city noise. The place is pretty remote, so it’s super peaceful and quiet.
When we checked in, most of the other guests had just checked out, so we were the only guests for the day. This made it even more relaxing. The reception was awesome, and the receptionist was really friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away.
The pool was a bit of a letdown. We wanted to take a dip after checking in, but there were a lot of fallen leaves from the trees, which made it look like it hadn’t been cleaned for the day. Since the previous guests had just left, I assumed they were just about to clean the pool. It’s too bad because the pool area could have been a great spot to chill.
Our room was spacious but didn’t have a fridge. The receptionist mentioned that none of their rooms have fridges, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, since the room is spacious, it took a while for the air conditioning to cool it down, which may not be ideal on hotter days.
There was a table and chair for two just outside our room. We brought cooked crabs with us and ordered rice from their restaurant. The staff allowed us to use the table outside and even assisted by bringing the rice, as well as plates, utensils, and other items, to the table. They were very helpful, allowing us to enjoy the food we brought.
Overall, it was a nice stay because of the quiet location away from the city. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway and don’t mind a few minor issues, Acacia Tree Garden Resort is a good choice.
KKenDucsWe recently had the pleasure of staying here, and I must say it was one of the cleanest hotels I've experienced in Palawan. The location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to access local attractions. However, there was some noise from a nearby bar late at night. It wasn't too distracting for me, especially on the higher floors, so I recommend requesting one of those if you’re sensitive to sound.
The hotel itself is well-maintained, likely due to its recent renovations. The elevator, though small, was smooth and always clean, which added to the overall pleasant experience. The bathroom was a highlight—very clean and comfortable, although I did find the water heater a bit challenging to adjust.
Each room features a smart lock and a smart TV with Netflix and other apps, which is a nice touch. The Wi-Fi was reliable, even on the highest floor, allowing for seamless browsing.
One area for improvement would be the bedding. While the mattress and pillows were decent, a thicker comforter would enhance the sleeping experience, as the provided blanket was quite thin.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While this may not be a luxury hotel, it offers excellent cleanliness and customer service, making it a great choice for travelers. I would certainly consider staying here again!
AAdamBilgyBetween the main bus station and the airport in a quiet area, and only a 100 peso ride from the airport. A 20 minute walk from a large shopping mall. The whole place is very clean and nice, with comfortable sun beds by a large clean swimming pool. Room is comfortable and clean, with good aircon and linens. Shower pretty powerful. Excellent WiFi. Outside areas with small Gym, bar and food area. This place doesn't accept credit cards, wants a 2000 peso cash deposit and you can't check into your room a minute before the 2pm deadline. Also no check out flexibility, or use of the pool after check out which they will charge for. Room fridge full of expensive drinks, but there is a shop a 2 minute walk away where you can buy soft drinks and use the room fridge to keep them cool. Breakfast is adequate and basic, but good value in terms of the overall price. Overall very good value and i would highly recommend.
GGuest UserClose to the beach and a few good restaurants, clean, friendly staff. Slight smell in the air like ozone or... - not really offensive, could try cleaning the bathroom fan or ac?
Good for a couple of nights
RResort12347556191This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.
VVictoria STried Microtel in Pampanga and got so overwhelmed. So when my clients from abroad decided to visit and have a meeting in Palawan, I decided to book them in Microtel in Puerta Princesa. I was hoping for the same level of quality service and got no disappointment. My clients loved their stay. They enjoyed the beach scenery and loved the staffs as well. Room is well-cleaned that they almost felt living permanently in their room. Thank you so much Microtel Palawan!
