Very Good
The room was clean, the front desk staff are lovely and the decor was lively and fun. It's close to several restaurants where you can grab dinner. The free breakfast is no frills with limited choices, but adequate. Our big problem was that the bed and pillows were too soft for our liking, and the walls are paper thin. We were on the ”highway side” of the building, and road noise lasted all night. While we could get used to that noise, we couldn't get used to the loud men's voices from another room, the sound of a chair scraping across the room overhead, kids fussing. It was like sleeping in a room with everyone!
MMichaelVery nice hotel very clean very comfortable beds and pillows very good breakfast great location only 12 minutes from major stores and restaurants very friendly staff
GGuest UserThe executive suites are deserving of a 0 star. Other parts/people of the resort are the reason for the higher rating, I read reviews online that these executive suites were outdated. Not really a big deal, but they were right. The curtains are all falling off the windows and tattered and most of the furniture is very old. The problem lies in the fact that it is destroyed (just not old). The couch (which is a pull out) sinks to the floor when you sit on it. We sat on pillows and still had a hard time getting out of it. The chair was broken down, but not as bad. The couch and the chair though are all ripped up on the cushions and there is a lot of stuffing hanging out of the furniture!! The walls are paper thin and we heard our neighbors talking/tv/music like they were in the room with us (and they left their TV on ALL NIGHT LONG). The bathroom sink does not drain. The bed sucks and to get out of bed, you have to shut the bedroom door as it is blocking the walkway. The bedroom TV had no remote control. The living room TV got no broadcast channels and no channels 2-29 were working. We used the living room remote to turn on the bedroom TV and they channels worked in there. The window air conditioner units are the worst. The bedroom we had to sink to 65 just to get it to turn on and occasionally cool the room down (this is September so it isn't that hot outside). The living room air conditioner only stops running for about 2 minutes at a time and it is so LOUD that you can't even talk when it comes on and it completely drowns out the TV and will wake you up in the bedroom all night long. I set it to 74 trying to get it to stop kicking on so much, but it made no difference and still put out really really cold air. The part that really pissed me off is their customer service. I received a text the afternoon I checked in asking how my room was. I explained all of these issues. Obviously they are not gonna bring out new furniture and stuff like that, but maintenance should have been out to unclog the sink drain, bring the missing Tv remote and get the living TV working, and potentially fix the air conditioning units (if fixable that easily). I received a reply that the manager would be informed. This was still during business hours, but we never heard from anyone or had anyone come fix anything the entire stay we had there (which was 4 LONG sleepless nights). The next morning we went to the $15 breakfast buffet that is ”included in our overpriced suite” (which is basically a typical hotels complimentary hot breakfast while adding two extra hot items.... potatoes and cooked apples.... there wasn't even any oatmeal packets). We stopped at the lobby desk to report the sink drain issue and the TV issues. Had a very rude lady tell us that there is nothing that she can do about it and the TV issue is their cable providers issue! Really no remote control in the room? Channels 2-29 working in the bedroom but not the living room?
Instead if going home and paying additional tolls I chose to stay here because of the cost. I got this place on on of those discount sites and it was the cheapest around, so I wasn't expecting much. The check-in was easy and my room was in the front and easy access. The bed was comfortable, although it felt kinda dated. It was clean and everything was fine. They had a continental breakfast too.
We have been visiting West Virginia in October now for quite a few years to see the natural wonders and the beautiful fall foliage. We are now seniors and close parking, first floor rooms, non smoking are more important than ever. We also preferred Harper Road because of the Mexican and Japanese restaurants located there. Quality Inn met all our requirements. The room as well as the bathroom were clean. The bed was comfy and there were plenty of fluffy towels. Our room had a TV, mini fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker. The desk setup was perfect for a PC and there were plenty of outlets so you could charge your phone. The wi-fi connection was good. We were pleased with our three day stay. Check in was fast and with a smile. Will return.
GGuest UserOverall clean hotel with very convienent location. Breakfast choices were a bit limted to prepackaged items. Also, the room was not too great. Matrices need replacement, just awful. Shower head height was made for a 4 foot child or handicapped person, it could not be adjusted up for an adult. Water pressure terrible. This is a popular hotel location so be prepared for parking challenges.
GGuest UserWe were given room 103. When we got there the door was propped open and the microwave open. The night clerk, who was very nice, said that she had not been told about any problems, that they must have forgotten to close the door. So, we went in and relaxed a bit. The room smelled like smoke, even though it was non- smoking, and I started having problems with coughing. My husband used the microwave to warm something, and it started smoking and I could see fire in it. He immediately turned it off and I unplugged it, but you could smell and see smoke. We were given another room, but by that point I just worried about fire down the hallway. The second room was clean, but the beds and pillows were not comfortable at all. Didn't get a lot of sleep. Breakfast was not good. Two sugary cereals, white bread for toast, some prewrapped pastries, and some Yoplait yogurt. Coffee was not good. We won't be going back to this hotel. The only good part was the night clerk who said she was just there helping out. We did notice the next morning that they had removed the defective microwave.
