We had a brief stay here, overnight before a morning flight. Our family of 4 (including 2 teen boys, 17 and 19) got a suite with 2 queens and a pull out couch. My older son slept on the couch not pulled out and was comfortable. The queen beds were also comfortable. The room was very clean. Shower and toilet areas are separate…feel like closets, but we had no issue with that. Staff we encountered (front desk) were friendly and helpful…shuttle was easily scheduled. Shuttle was a bit late (10 minutes) in the morning but we had allowed for plenty of time to get to the airport so it was not a problem. The driver was very friendly and helpful, and we understood, as everyone is short staffed these days…he was likely pulling double duty. Front desk staff was in communication with him as well, so we knew he was on his way and were not stressed. Breakfast was adequate. Pre-packaged egg cup was surprisingly decent. I had that with some warm oatmeal and was set for the morning. We did not have time to use the pool or exercise room but they were available. We had a very smooth, quiet, brief stay and would stay here again. It served our needs well.
Stayed for one night when I was transferred. The hotel has an airport shuttle bus. You need to call the front desk to pick up the phone and wait at the bus pick-up dock. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. As a transit hotel, the price is OK.

I was greeted warmly. All the employees were nice and did their best to accommodate all my request. I’m not from Michigan, so it seemed pricey for the quality. However this weighed no bearing on my stay. They have a restaurant in the hotel that prepares food, which is convenient - but some things weren’t up to par. For example I got fruit with my breakfast, and the not only looked old but also taste old. With that said - front desk and housekeeping were amazing. Thank you!
On July 14 I flew to Detroit to attend a funeral on the 15th. I carefully researched airport hotels. The one I wanted was The Westin but couldn’t justify $340 for 11 hours. So I chose the next best thing, Embassy Suites, still expensive at $200 but I prefer to be clean and comfortable in hotels. Embassy Suites has always fit the bill in the past. When I walked into Room 217 my heart sank. It did not have that clean feel I was used to and had a moldy odor with old worn out furniture. I took photos to prove all of my anxieties. The curtains were old, thin, shabby and torn. The sofa was torn in several places. The table had dried food on it. The beds looked like children had made them up and the pillows were small squares like the size of medium throw pillows. The bed spreads were worn out and thin. There were stains on the pillow cases and make upon one. The towels were shredding. The toilet was so small your knees were up in front of you. I was appalled and disheartened. But, like a big girl, I sucked it up and did my best to make the room to,enable by spraying it with sanitizer and perfume and covering areas with towels. I carry a travel sheet for those…’Just-in-case’ moments which I never thought would happen at an ES hotel. I put my sheet over the sheet and pillow case and tried to be a good soldier. I began to nod and opened my eyes and saw something moving. Startled, I jumped out of the bed and grabbed a tissue to see what this was. I hate bugs of any kind but at this point of desperation, the bar was so low, all I could hope for was that it was a filthy disgusting roach and NOT A BEDBUG‼️ I put the insect in the water glass with a little water and took a picture. When I enlarged the picture I was beyond upset and completely baffled…IT WAS A TEXTBOOK BEDBUG!!! I googled images of bedbugs to see if this really was a bedbug and…it really was a bedbug…smh. I called downstairs and told the desk clerk, Diamond, there was a bedbug in my be along with all the other cosmetic problems, she replied “I can assure you it is not a bedbug cuz we get checked for them every two weeks. I decided to take it down to the manager but that person was gone. I showed Diamond the photos of the condition of my room and she was disconnected. She explained the furniture is not their fault because Covid prevented them from remodeling. Ok, regardless of the reason, the facts were the facts. She didn’t need to prove anything just lend an ear of understanding how I was feeling about paying $200 for 11 hours. It seemed Diamonds customer service skills needed honing. Diamonds words of understanding and compassion were “Would you like to check out?” I kid you not. I was not trying to get a refund, I saved $10 by using Priceline instead of Hiltons site so, no, I’m just letting you know what’s happening…period. I told her I’d love to if she was going to pay for it! Of course not. When she first saw the bedbug she tried to tell me that was not a bedbug but when I
The hotel is relatively close to the airport and the car rental company. The signs of other companies on the airport shuttle bus are probably shared by several companies, and there is no breakfast. Print a piece of paper for one dollar
We stay at Marriotts all the time and check in with Alicia was the best ever. She was so helpful, informative and personable. Her great personality shines through. Brittany at the bistro was top notch also. Parking was easy and room was very comfortable!
This hotel, quite near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, has in the past been well maintained. However on our recent trip, we found some small but unpleasant issues that made us feel it was not being kept up as well as it had been. The bathroom was dirty, and there was a large wad of tangled black hair in the shower. A piece of furniture in the bedroom needed repair, one of the key cards did not work to open the door, and at breakfast the scrambled eggs were served cold and the orange juice pitcher was empty( though it was eventually filled when we mentioned it to the staff). On the plus side, the room was quiet, the check-in was done smoothly and with a friendly attendant, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We hope the hotel will do better with its maintenance and also make an effort to be environmentally responsible -- It still offers (tiny) single-use plastic bottles of shampoo and conditioner and provides no options for recycling. I sent the hotel a message about these concerns and so far have received no reply.
In order to return to China, self-quarantine for seven days + do nucleic acid. Very close to the airport, you can also order takeaway to the door. The overall experience is good. It is suitable for small partners who want to return to China to take Delta. I hope everyone can return home smoothly!
Pros: The airport shuttle bus is very convenient, timely, and the service is good; breakfast is ordered, and you can eat very well for just over ten dollars; the environment is not bad, the lobby is very grand, and there are McDonald's and Big Boy fast food nearby
Cons: The heater is too loud, don't turn it on when you sleep
Summary: Good value for money👍
