Ees Wyke Country House ★★★★★
"Stayed at Ees Wyke Country House for a night away and a proposal. The views from every room, especially lake view and dining room are spectacular. Very welcoming staff, lovely rooms with very good facilities. Dinner and breakfast were beyond excellent"

The Cuckoo Brow Inn ★★★★
"Lovely location, with great views. Friendly atmosphere, staff are exceptional. Room was large, but not as clean as we would have liked. The Cuckoo Brow inn is priced as a 4 star, but it is more of a 3 star in my book. All the carpets need a dam good clean, especially on the stairs. Our stay was a quiet enough though. Food was OK but the selection was limited and on the pricy side, but then most places in the Lakes are in the high season. WiFi was free, which was nice, around 20-25 mb/s in our room, although it did fluctuate a bit. Power shower was great, but would have been better in a shower enclosure rather than over a roll top bath (the bathroom was more than big enough for it). All in all, it left the feeling of a nice little inn, which needs a bit of love, attention and cash putting into it."
