"All ok. Needs a bit of refurb inside the rooms, also, no fridge in the room - i usually empty all the minibar stuff out and go to the nearest supermarket…  :-) Luckily, the weather was so cold outside I could use the window ledge instead. Lovely staff and free parking. No real complaints."

"Nice location"

"Booked this hotel as we could not get any in our chosen location due to a number of events happening in the city at the same time. We were pleasantly surprised by it as we were not expecting much due to the price. On arrival, we were greeted warmly by the lady on reception and she gave us all the information needed. The reception area was clean and actually smelled quite nice. There were supplies of tea, coffee and milk to help yourself to should you need more than is supplied in the room. They had a microwave oven for guests to use and even had sachets of salt and pepper! Heading to our room, the corridors were again clean and smelled the same as reception. The room itself was a good size and the bathroom actually had a bath, unlike some hotels we have stayed in. There is soap and shampoo provided as well as plastic cups for water. There is a kettle, TV and hairdryer in the room. We had a family room which had a srandard size double bed, a single bed and a pull out bed from under the double. Not the biggest family room we've stayed in but perfectly fine with space for luggage, an open wardrobe with shelves and hangers. We had concerns that as it situated in the motorway service that it may be noisy but our room was at the back and overlooked trees and grass. I would expect it to be noisy in the front facing rooms. It is right next to the services and has the obligatory fast food outlets, coffee shop and WH Smiths, which stocked a wide range of products but a bit pricey! Our only negative, apart from the pricey shop, was our hairdryer did not work, which we only discovered in the morning but the lady cleaning the rooms allowed us to access the room directly opposite to use that one, so all was good. She did apologise a couple of times too. Would we stay again? Yes, if we can't get to stay in our preferred location, as it's not far away from Cardiff, where we have to visit every month."

"I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express before but this was the best one for the room itself. Value for money, nice and new inside. Very well designed and spacious. All the staff very friendly. There are some points I would like to make despite the fact I was 100% happy with the room. 1. I was shocked that there was a parking charge for the guest although it was only £6.00. 2. Contractors who I am not sure what they do though were always outside the entrance smoking which was not very nice for guests. 3. The quality and the selection of breakfast was rather poor compared to my previous experience at other Holiday Inn Express although the staff was very nice and friendly."

"Was the cheapest option I could find on that day, but it really impressed me. Location was good, right next to Cardiff queen street and around 20 mins by foot from Cardiff central. Hotel was nice, staff were friendly and had all the necessary amenities. Rooms were quite small but sufficient unless you have big luggages. Only issue I had was that there’s a dip in the middle of the bed which was quite strange."
