As part of a day out on a senior citizen’s coach tour of the Antrim Coast, we stopped at Bushtown House for our late afternoon meal. We were warmly welcomed by the wonderful Kerry and her staff on arrival, and shown to a lovely room. The premises was very clean and well maintained. Service, staff and food were all excellent- couldn’t fault anything. Really good food and ample portions - we were even offered “seconds” - but no one could eat another bite! Staff were most helpful and professional at getting everyone served, and we felt very welcomed and well looked after. Kerry was also a great help with getting the booking made and meal choices sorted at the planning stage. I would highly recommend the Bushtown for quality, service and value. We will definitely return! A great end to a lovely day out!

Overall a lovely hotel, unfortunately the check in experience / reception lets it down. We arrived at 3.30 and asked to check in (most hotels are 3pm) to be told check in is 4pm, which is fair enough. Normally when you arrive early a hotel will offer to check if the rooms ready early. Checked in at 4pm and went to the room, which clearly had been recently refurbished. It was lovely and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately despite having written confirmation, there was no cot and no welcome gift which had been paid for. It took 2 calls to reception for this to be sorted without any apology for the mix up or inconvenience. We did notice a lot of people queuing at reception who had reservations for the Carvery, they were quite rudely told to ‘go over there’. The positive is that we dined at the restaurant and the service and food was 5 star. Staff were lovely and friendly, which was a complete contrast to reception. Same can be said for breakfast, which again was brilliant. Upon check out we were told the welcome gift needed paid for, despite being told when we checked in it was already paid. The price quoted and price to be paid also were different. We will be back again for the restaurant but not to stay, as unfortunately the hotel experience and service was disappointment

Smelly, old fashioned room. (Room 12) Hot water tap ran brown for a few secs when turned on. Bathroom smelt of urine. I showered at the spa, wasn’t trusting our rooms water. Had 3 small old towels in room for 2 adults and 1 child. Ridiculous. Complimentary bathroom products are cheap as chips, so bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Food was just ok. Had a hair in my dinner on last night. They are severely understaffed in restaurant, so staff are run off their feet. You have to ask constantly for the same thing. Not their fault, but needs addressed. They didn’t charge me for my pasta, sure I couldn’t eat it anyway. Spa was ok. Tiny pool. Communal, over crowded changing. When will these places realise that women don’t like getting changed in front of each other! Won’t be back. If my mum hadn’t of paid for the room as a treat, I would have complained my butt off. My sister was also staying (room 20). Got no sleep for two nights. Room directly above reception, where music was played until 11pm. Then wedding guests shouted, carried on and slammed doors till 3am. NIGHTMARE. Positive - the staff are lovely and polite. - the newly decorated reception is nice

I stayed in room 2 last night. The hotel is warm friendly and spotless. The beds and pillows are amazing prob best bed I have slept in and I do like to travel!! The food is beautiful and the breakfast offers a cooked breakfast, fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Delicious! The entertainment last night was a guy with his guitar who was very good with a combination of music for children, younger and mature guests!! He involved the guests throughout!! A fantastic Birthday treat I will definitely be back!!!

One of the nicest places I have stayed. The place itself is lovely and the staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. The food was excellent. A very nice place to stay. It will be even nicer in the warmer weather when you can sit outside. Good starting place for the Antrim coast.

We went as a family of 5 to this hotel, as it was able to accommodate more than 2 children in a hotel room. We had a wonderful stay here. The staff are extremely pleasant. Our room had been freshly painted, was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were very welcome. The lobby and dining rooms are beautifully decorated. The corridors to the rooms feel narrow and a little old fashioned, but our room itself had been freshly decorated and was lovely. Be aware that the pool does not open for residents during the day, it is for spa customers only between the hours of 10 amand 5pm. Initially I felt this might be a problem, but it was actually lovely, as we got to use the pool in the evenings when it was quiet. The pool itself is a lovely, warm spa pool. It was very relaxing. Towels are provided to residents. There was also a steam room for adults. Breakfast was beautiful. It was a buffet, but small enough that everything felt fresh and warm. Again, the staff were very pleasant. Two small issues we had were dealt with by front desk staff very easily. One piece of advice I'd give would be to bring your own hairdryer if planning on using the pool at night. While sufficient, the hairdryer provided is not very powerful. We also had a lovely meal on Easter Sunday evening in Cushys Grill. I simply cannot understand any negative reviews for this restaurant. It was absolutely beautiful. There was a great range of options. Kids chicken goujons were the best I'd ever seen. Proper chicken breast meat with a full portion of fries. All in all, we had a very relaxing two nights in Bushtown.
