The Deutz, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

A super stylish yet cozy hotel. Everything feels new and well-thought-out. It's well-located, close to Koelnmesse and Rheinpark. The tram and train stations are easily accessible. Plus, the staff is friendly and professional. It's a shame the gym was closed for renovation work.

This was my second time in Cologne, and I chose this Marriott hotel again. The experience was indeed very good, and I slept comfortably. The breakfast was excellent – of course, it can't compare to hotels in China, but for Germany, it's above average. One thing to note is that the hotel requested a 25 Euro deposit upon check-in, which was not mentioned when I made the reservation. I was a little annoyed by that. Also, the hotel claims to have a gym, but in reality, there isn't one. When I asked the staff, they said the gym is still under construction… Maybe it will be ready by next year…

Do NOT book this hotel! Seriously, do NOT book this hotel! It's absolutely terrible! And to make matters worse, it's non-refundable! This place is a relic from 1993, with only a front desk and no other staff. It's like a rundown, cheap roadside motel from 10 years ago, charging 50 RMB a night in China. The room is tiny, old, and the decor is awful. Breakfast is overpriced – you're better off eating out! Don't be fooled by the cheap price, and definitely don't mistake it for a 3-star hotel! I learned my lesson the hard way, to the tune of nearly ten thousand yuan! Absolutely do NOT book it! Once you book, you can't cancel! The location is very remote, and there's no parking. Whether you're traveling for leisure or business, avoid this place at all costs! You'll have a horrible experience! The moment I entered the room, I felt claustrophobic! Pay close attention to the bed size – it's ridiculously small! Staying here feels like a terrible start to everything, nothing goes right! The cramped space creates such a depressing atmosphere. And remember, it's non-refundable, even Trip.com can't help! Avoid this trap at all costs! Seriously, avoid it!

Great location, good value for money. Service was a bit rough around the edges but acceptable.
