Hansadom Hotel Köln

I remember during previous Cologne trade fairs, it was almost impossible to find a hotel room. This year, I was surprised to find plenty of options even as the fair approached, and the prices were actually quite reasonable. This hotel didn't have the highest ratings, but upon checking in, I discovered the room was incredibly spacious. Apart from the lack of air conditioning, there really weren't any other downsides. The bathroom was also huge, with double sinks. On my first day, I walked about 850 meters from Cologne Central Station to the hotel. The next day, I realized there was a light rail station just a hundred or two hundred meters away, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The subway station was a bit further, about a 350-meter walk. There are plenty of great dining options nearby, including a Chinese restaurant right around the corner, which offered excellent value for money.

As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and at ease during my stay. Although I was alone, the price wasn't too high, so I booked a triple room. It was spacious and comfortable, almost too much so for just one person! The only downside was finding a blonde hair on the floor, which unfortunately gave me a slightly unclean impression and made me scrutinize the rest of the room. However, as a Japanese person, this is pretty standard for hotels, so I decided not to let it bother me too much. I was given a room on the top floor, and the sunset from the balcony was absolutely stunning!

The beautiful view of Cologne Cathedral and the spacious interior, even though I was staying alone, made my stay very comfortable. The staff in the lobby were also very kind, which created a very relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. However, please note that as it's an older hotel, the bathroom drainage can be a bit slow.

The room was clean and tidy, and the location is excellent with plenty of dining options nearby. The staff were friendly and check-in was efficient. It's perfect for a short stay and I highly recommend it for travelers.
